This paper presents a methodology for determining the surface settlements of the geocell-reinforced soil layer and the vertical stresses propagated to the foundation subgrade at the layers interface, on the subgrade. Based on the theory of equivalent thicknesses, which is an approximation of the theory of elasticity for layered systems, a generalized equation for determining settlements was proposed in a two-layer system composed of geocell reinforced soil layer over the subgrade. The equation obtained is dependent only on the relations between the elastic parameters of these two layers, such as the deformation moduli and Poissons ratio, and geometric parameters, such as geocell layer thickness and loading width,. The proposed equation generated very close results with rigorous solutions of the two-layer system from the theory of elasticity. It was applied, together with rigorous methods, in an instrumented field Plate load test allowing the determination of the geocell-reinforced soil layer modulus of deformation by retro analysis and the vertical stresses propagated to the subgrade. The results showed that the two-layer system theory from theories of elasticity and equivalent thicknesses can be used in a simple and efficient way for determining settlements and the propagation of vertical stresses. The proposed methodology also satisfactorily calculated these results when compared with the rigorous methods and with the values obtained in the field test.

این مقاله روشی را برای تعیین نشست های سطحی لایه خاک تقویت شده با ژئوسل و تنش های قائم توزیع شده در زیر بستر لایه ها را ارائه می کند. بر اساس تئوری ضخامت معادل، که تقریبی از تئوری الاستیسیته برای سیستم‌های لایه‌ای است، یک معادله تعمیم‌یافته برای تعیین نشست ها در یک سیستم دو لایه متشکل از لایه خاک تقویت شده با ژئوسل بر روی بستر پیشنهاد شده‌ است. معادله به ‌دست‌ آمده فقط وابسته به روابط بین پارامترهای الاستیک این دو لایه مانند مدول تغییر شکل و نسبت پواسون، و پارامترهای هندسی مانند ضخامت لایه ژئوسل و عرض بارگذاری است. معادله پیشنهادی نتایج بسیار نزدیکی را با راه حل های دقیق سیستم دو لایه از تئوری الاستیسیته ایجاد کرد. این روش، همراه با روش‌های دقیق، در آزمایش بارگذاری صفحه میدانی که امکان تعیین مدول تغییر شکل لایه خاک تقویت شده با ژئوسل توسط تحلیل برگشتی را فراهم می‌کند و تنش‌های قائم در بستر توزیع شده اند، به کار گرفته شد. نتایج نشان داد که تئوری سیستم دو لایه از تئوری های الاستیسیته و ضخامت معادل را می توان به روشی ساده و کارآمد برای تعیین نشست ها و توزیع تنش‌های قائم مورد استفاده قرار داد. روش پیشنهادی همچنین به طور رضایت‌بخشی این نتایج را در مقایسه با روش‌های دقیق و با مقادیر به ‌دست ‌آمده در آزمایش میدانی محاسبه می‌کند.
