1 A retailer-supplier supply chain model with trade credit default risk in a supplier-Stackelberg game

The purpose of this paper is to formulate a retailer-supplier uncooperative replenishment model with demand and default risk are functions of the trade credit period for determining the optimal trade credit period in a supplier-Stackelberg game. Firstly, we present optimal results for the decentralized decision and the centralized decision without trade credit. Secondly, we derive the existence and uniqueness conditions of the optimal solutions for the retailer and the supplier. Moreover, we develop a set of theorems and corollaries to determine the optimal solutions. Finally, we provide an example and sensitivity analysis to illustrate the proposed strategy and optimal solutions. Sensitivity analysis reveals that the total profit of the supply chain under a supplier-Stackelberg game is greater than that observed under a centralized decision only if the optimal trade credit period is not too short. This finding also reveals that the size of the trade credit period, demand, retailer’s profit and supplier’s profit have strong relationships with the increasing demand coefficient, wholesale price, default risk coefficient and production cost.

3 The optimal reverse channel choice under supply chain competition

This note extends the model of Savaskan et al. (2004) to examine the impact of supply chain competition on the optimal reverse channel choice of manufacturers who remanufacture their own products. Even for two identical supply chains, asymmetric equilibria of strategic reverse channel choices may arise, in which one prefers retailer-managed collection and the other prefers manufacturer-managed collection. There exists a prisoner’s dilemma in which the Pareto optimal solution is for both manufacturers to use manufacturer-managed collection, but retailer-managed collection is a dominant strategy.

4 Risk-cost optimization for procurement planning in multi-tier supply chain by Pareto Local Search with relaxed acceptance criterion

We address a 2-objective optimization problem to minimize a retailer’s procurement cost and risk that is evaluated as recovery time of the retailer’s business after the procurement is suspended by a catastrophic event. In order to reduce the recovery time, the retailer needs to decentralize ordering to multiple suppli ers and have contingency stock, which costs the retailer. In multi-tier supply chains, not only the retailer’s procurement plan but also their suppliers’ procurement plans affect the retailers’ risk and cost. Due to the huge combinations of their plans, it is difficult to find Pareto optimal solutions of the 2-objective optimization problem within a short space of time. We apply Pareto Local Search (PLS) based on heuris tics to generate neighbors of a solution by changing suppliers’ plans in the closer tier to the retailer. The original PLS accepts the solutions that are nondominated neighbor solutions for the next search, but the acceptance criterion is too strict to find all Pareto optimal solutions. We relax the acceptance crite rion in order to include dominated solutions whose Pareto rank is equal to or less than a threshold. The threshold is updated based on changes of Pareto rank during local searches.

5 A particle swarm approach for optimizing a multi-stage closed loop supply chain for the solar cell industry

In order to implement sustainable strategies in a supply chain, enterprises should provide highly fa vorable and effective solutions for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which brings out the issues of designing and managing a closed-loop supply chain (CLSC). This paper studies an integrated CLSC net work design problem with cost and environmental concerns in the solar energy industry from sus tainability perspectives. A multi-objective closed-loop supply chain design (MCSCD) model has been proposed, in consideration of many practical characteristics including flow conservation at each pro duction/recycling unit of forward/reverse logistics (FL/RL), capacity expansion, and recycled components. A deterministic multi-objective mixed integer linear programming (MILP) model capturing the tradeoffs between the total cost and total CO2 emissions was developed to address the multistage CSLC design problem. Subsequently, a multi-objective PSO (MOPSO) algorithm with crowding distance-based non dominated sorting approach is developed to search the near-optimal solution of the MCSCD model. The computational study shows that the proposed MOPSO algorithm is suitable and effective for solving large-scale complicated CLSC structure than the conventional branch-and-bound optimization approach. Analysis results show that an enterprise needs to apply an adequate recycling strategy or energy saving technology to achieve a better economic effectiveness if the carbon emission regulation is applied. Consequently, the Pareto optimal solution obtained from MOPSO algorithm may give the superior sug gestions of CLSC design, such as factory location options, capacity expansion, technology selection, purchasing, and order fulfillment decisions in practice.

6 Multi-objective hybrid PSO-APO algorithm based security constrained optimal power flow with wind and thermal generators

In this paper, a new low level with teamwork heterogeneous hybrid particle swarm optimization and artificial physics optimization (HPSO-APO) algorithm is proposed to solve the multi-objective security constrained optimal power flow (MO-SCOPF) problem. Being engaged with the environmental and total production cost concerns, wind energy is highly penetrating to the main grid. The total production cost, active power losses and security index are considered as the objective functions. These are simultane- ously optimized using the proposed algorithm for base case and contingency cases. Though PSO algorithm exhibits good convergence characteristic, fails to give near optimal solution. On the other hand, the APO algorithm shows the capability of improving diversity in search space and also to reach a near global optimum point, whereas, APO is prone to premature convergence. The proposed hybrid HPSO-APO algorithm combines both individual algorithm strengths, to get balance between global and local search capability. The APO algorithm is improving diversity in the search space of the PSO algorithm. The hybrid optimization algorithm is employed to alleviate the line overloads by generator rescheduling during contingencies. The standard IEEE 30-bus and Indian 75-bus practical test systems are considered to evaluate the robustness of the proposed method. The simulation results reveal that the proposed HPSO-APO method is more efficient and robust than the standard PSO and APO methods in terms of get- ting diverse Pareto optimal solutions. Hence, the proposed hybrid method can be used for the large inter- connected power system to solve MO-SCOPF problem with integration of wind and thermal generators.© 2017 Karabuk University. 7 Closed loop supply chain networks: Designs for energy and time value efficiency

Product recovery has become a viable option for many industries to realize economic gains while pro tecting the environment. However, insufficient investment and inefficient supply chains have hampered the viability of reuse and/or recycling because of the extended time intervals between the recycling process of recovery and reuse. Manufacturers and distributors face the challenge and necessity to reduce these process delays in order to recover the maximum value of the returned products through an effective, responsive closed loop supply chain (CLSC). This paper quantitatively measures the effective responsiveness of the CLSC model in terms of time and energy efficiency. The proposed multi-objective mixed integer linear programming (MOMILP) model evaluates delay parameters with decision variables that maximize profit, optimize customer surplus and minimize energy use. The model suggests decision makers may achieve an optimal tradeoff among differing objectives in a multiple-objective CLSC sce nario. We employed a multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO) approach to solve the proposed MOMILP model and compared our approach with the Non-Dominated Sorted Genetic Algo rithm (NSGA-II) for optimal solution. Results of the comparative evolutionary approaches shows that MOPSO outperforms NSGA-II in almost all cases in achieving the best trade-off solutions. Sensitivity analysis carried out to test the robustness of the model confirms that substantially less cost is feasible through the reduction of return process delays. This paper aims to formulate a multi-objective CLSC problem based on a network-flow model measuring the time value to recover maximum assets lost due to delay at different stages of the recycle process. We also developed a particle swarm approach for a multi-objective CLSC. Our study also offers valuable insights for designers wishing to create a product flow network with an optimal capacity level in case of prioritized objectives scenarios.

8 Manufacturing-remanufacturing policies for a centralized two stage supply chain under consignment stock partnership

This paper addresses a centralized closed loop supply chain comprised of a single vendor and a single buyer operating under a consignment stock (CS) strategy. Following this sort of partnership, the buyer agrees to store the product at its premises where, in return, the payment of those products is made only after being sold to the end customer. We develop a mixed integer non-linear program that seeks to minimize the chain-wide total cost by jointly optimizing the length of the production cycle, the number and the sequence of the newly manufactured and the remanufactured batches, as well as the inventory levels of the finished and recovered products at the beginning of the cycle. The special case of the production sequence (R,M), in which R consecutive remanufacturing batches are produced first followed by M manufacturing batches, along with the production sequences (M,R), (R,1), and (1,M) are also derived from the general model. Extensive numerical experiments are also conducted in order to assess the impact of key problem parameters on the behavior of the developed models. The results confirm that, under the consignment stock agreement, the (R,M) and (M,R) production sequences are the dominant ones as they yield the optimal solution in roughly 87% and 10% of the reported problem instances, re spectively. It is also found that intermittent schedules, in which the vendor alternates between the production of newly and remanufactured batches more than once, would only result in marginal savings under extreme values of the setup costs. In contrast to the reported results in the literature, the sim plified cases of (R,1) and (1,M) did not perform well under several settings of the problem parameters with an average increase in the total cost as high as 19% and 25%, respectively.

مسئله کوله پشتی چند بعدی یک مشکل NP-hard است. این مشکل به طور گسترده در مقاله بررسی شده. در این مقاله، راه حلی برای مشکل بودجه بندی سرمایه¬ی بودجه فدرال دولت در نیجریه با استفاده از الگوریتم ژنتیک ترکیبی پیشنهاد شده توسط [32] فراهم کردیم. همچنین با تقسیم پروژه سرمایه به چهار گروه شامل: بخش اقتصادی (X1)، بخش خدمات اجتماعی (X2)، بخش توسعه منطقه ای/ محیط زیست (X3)، و بخش مدیریت (X4)؛ از رویکرد [33] برای مدل بودجه¬بندی دولت فدرال استفاده کردیم. از نرم افزار MATLAB برای آنالیز استفاده شد، مشاهده شد که راه حلی بهینه است که ارزش راه حل بهینه 277.64 بیلیون نایرا است. نتیجه نشان می دهد که بخش اول و دوم انتخاب خواهد شد (X2 ,X1= 1؛ X4, X3 = 0).

این مقاله به بررسی توسعه استفاده آسان مدل All-in-oneبرای طراحی شبکه های توزیع بهینه آب می پردازد. این مدل تکنیک های بهینه سازی مختلف را در یک بسته واحد ترکیب می کند که در آن کاربر به راحتی می تواند بهینه ساز را انتخاب کند و می تواند نتایج بهینه سازهای مختلف را برای به دست آوردن اعتماد در اجرای مدل مقایسه کند. در حال حاضر، سه تکنیک های بهینه سازی در مدل گنجانده شده است: برنامه ریزی خطی (LP)، الگوریتم ژنتیک (GA)، و روش ابتکاری کاهش یکی یکی (OBORM) که قبلا توسط نویسندگان بسط داده شده است. بهینه سازها در تعدادی از مشکلات معیار مورد آزمایش قرار گرفته و به خوبی ازلحاظ پیدا کردن راه حل های بهینه یا نزدیک به بهینه با یک محاسبه منطقی انجام می شوند. نتایج نشان می دهد که مدل به طور موثر به پیچیدگی مسائل و عملکرد محدود مورد اعتماد مرتبط با مدل های قبلی پرداخته و در نتیجه می تواند برای اهداف عملی مورد استفاده قرار گیرد.
