Social entrepreneurship orientation and company success: The mediating role of social performance
We examine the impact of social entrepreneurship orientation (SEO), a behavioral measure of the social en- trepreneurship of the organization, on the social and financial performance of a sample of Austrian firms. Despite growing research interests in social entrepreneurship, the field remains fragmented and this has led to calls for a careful examination of the implications of social entrepreneurship for firms. We draw on stakeholder theory and hybrid organizing to hypothesize that social performance mediates the SEO-financial performance relationship. By analyzing a sample of 1,156 companies, we find that the SEO-financial performance relationship is partially positively mediated by social performance even though the direct effect is negative. Our results show that social performance compensates for the otherwise negative effect SEO has directly with financial performance. We contribute to an understanding of the mechanisms by which an SEO affects firm performance and provide richer insights into the various aspects of performance. We discuss the future implications of our study and suggest promising avenues for further research on the SEO construct.

In addition, this study also seeks this relationship shaped by customers perceived value (CPV) as a key mechanism and interacted by social media usage. A total of 300 households were selected on a judgmental basis from Dhaka city in Bangladesh using a structured questionnaire. Collected data were CB-SEM (AMOS-v24) and SPSS. The findings showed PQ and SQ have positive effects on CS; SQ affects, but PQ does not affect CPV. CPV has a mixing mediating effect on SQ and CS relationship and PQ and CS relationship. AI as a moral crumple zone: The effects of AI-mediated communication on attribution and trust
AI-mediated communication (AI-MC) represents a new paradigm where communication is augmented or generated by an intelligent system. As AI-MC becomes more prevalent, it is important to understand the effects that it has on human interactions and interpersonal relationships. Previous work tells us that in human interactions with intelligent systems, misattribution is common and trust is developed and handled differently than in interactions between humans. This study uses a 2 (successful vs. unsuccessful conversation) x 2 (standard vs. AI-mediated messaging app) between subjects design to explore whether AI mediation has any effects on attribution and trust. We show that the presence of AI-generated smart replies serves to increase perceived trust between human communicators and that, when things go awry, the AI seems to be perceived as a coercive agent, allowing it to function like a moral crumple zone and lessen the responsibility assigned to the other human communicator. These findings suggest that smart replies could be used to improve relationships and perceptions of conversational outcomes between interlocutors. Our findings also add to existing literature regarding perceived agency in smart agents by illustrating that in this type of AI-MC, the AI is considered to have agency only when communication goes awry.

Examining the Relationship between Social Media Analytics Practices and Business Performance in the Indian Retail and IT Industries: The Mediation Role of Customer Engagement
Social media analytics (SMA) is a dynamic field which has received considerable attention from both academics and management practitioners alike. A significant number of the scholarly research currently being conducted in SMA, however, is conceptual. Industry experts know that SMA creates new opportunities for organisations who want to more strongly engage with their customers and improve business performance. However, the relationship between social media analytic practices (SMAP), customer engagement (CE), and business performance (BP) has not yet been sufficiently investigated from an empirical perspective. In order to gain a better understanding of the relationship between SMAP and BP and the mediation role of CE in that process, a largescale survey was conducted among senior and mid-level managers as well as consultants in the Retail and information technology (IT) industries in India. Specifically, a structured closed-ended questionnaire was administered to managers and management consultants country-wide and gathered usable responses from 281 respondents holding positions such as: Digital Marketing Executive/Digital Marketing Specialist, Management Consultant, Analytics Manager, Customer Relationship Manager, Marketing Director, Engagement Manager, etc. who were in charge of digital marketing strategies in the respondent retail and IT organisations. The questionnaire addressed issues related to the way in which SMAP contribute to an enhanced business performance through the mediation role of customer engagement. Structural Equation Modelling was employed to analyse the received empirical data. On the basis of the findings our research concludes that there is a significant positive relationship between SMAP and BP mediated by CE in the Indian retail and IT industries.

Strain, negative emotion, and cyber violence among South Korean Juveniles: A mediation analysis
While there has been moderate support for General Strain Theory (GST), the extant body of literature has been criticized for its lack of diversity (i.e., not sufficiently considering cross-cultural differences) as well as for its lack of stringency in testing mediators between strain and criminal behavior. As such, the current study investigated the intervening effect of the negative emotion of anger between school strain, as well as family strain, and cyber violence among South Korean youth. Also, it focused on their strains, which due to their traditional roots in Confucian culture, may be qualitatively and quantitatively different than those experienced by youth in Western societies. By using a manifest mediation analysis and a bias-corrected bootstrap method, this study found that the reason they committed cyber violence was not so much due to getting stressed out from the toxic relationship with their teacher as due to anger’s mediating role in the relationship between the strain and cyber violence. Results from the present study provided full support for GST’s application to a Confucian-based country. Theoretical and policy implications were discussed.

This study uses the conservation of resources theory to examine the influence of a leaders destructive behaviors by investigating how emotional exhaustion resulting from abusive supervision affects employees knowledge sharing behaviors. Using a moderated mediation framework, this study suggests that organizational justice moderates the positive relationship between abusive supervision and employees emotional exhaustion and at tenuates the negative indirect effect of abusive supervision on employees knowledge-sharing behaviors. The results of this study, drawn from a sample of 202 dyads comprising full-time employees and their immediate supervisors, support most of its hypotheses. The implications and limitations of the study, as well as directions for future research, are discussed.

A qualitative study into parental mediation of adolescents internet use
The vast majority of studies on parental mediation are quantitative by nature, which leads to a lack of in depth understanding of how parents define and perform their role as socializing agents in this area. The present study offers new insights into how parental mediation is implemented on a daily basis with regard to adolescents internet use. Therefore, six focus group interviews with parents of children aged 13 to 17 were performed (in total, 34 participants). Concretely, the study investigated (i) how parents perceive their adolescents internet use, (ii) how parents define their own role as socializing agents, and (iii) how parents perform internet mediation on a daily basis. The results show that parental mediation is best conceived as a dynamic process that stems from the daily interactions between parents and their adolescent children, rather than as a preconceived set of rules and strategies that are implemented. Open communication and making a connection with the adolescent in terms of his or her internet use are parents preferred strategies for performing parental mediation. The results have implications in terms of parental mediation research as well as in terms of the support directed at parents of adolescent children.

Mediating the bullying victimization–delinquency relationship with anger and cognitive impulsivity: A test of general strain and criminal lifestyle theories
Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare intervening mechanisms proposed by general strain theory and the control model of criminal lifestyle theory as explanations for the strain–behavior relationship. Methods: In this study strain was defined as bullying victimization, behavior was operationalized as de linquency, and the two mediators were anger and cognitive impulsivity. Analyses were completed on a group of 572 early adolescent schoolchildren from the Illinois Study of Bullying and Sexual Victimization (ISBSV). A causal mediation analysis was performed with prospective data from the ISBSV, with six months between the independent and mediator variables and six months between the mediator and dependent variables. Results: The outcome of the analyses indicated that cognitive impulsivity but not anger mediated the victimi zation–delinquency relationship, although the two pathways did not differ significantly from one another. Conclusions: These findings provide preliminary support for the mediating mechanism proposed by the control model of criminal lifestyle theory (i.e., cognitive impulsivity).
