4 The moderating impact of supply network topology on the effectiveness of risk management
While supply chain risk management offers a rich toolset for dealing with risk at the dyadic level, less attention has been given to the effectiveness of risk management in complex supply networks. We bridge this gap by building an agent based model to explore the relationship between topological characteristics of complex supply networks and their ability to recover through inventory mitigation and contingent rerouting. We simulate upstream supply networks, where each agent represents a supplier. Suppliers connectivity patterns are generated through random and preferential attachment models. Each supplier manages its inventory using an anchor-and-adjust ordering policy. We then randomly disrupt suppliers and observe how different topologies recover when risk management strategies are applied. Our results show that topology has a moderating effect on the effectiveness of risk management strategies. Scale-free supply networks generate lower costs, have higher fill-rates, and need less inventory to recover when exposed to random disruptions than random networks. Random networks need significantly more inventory distributed across the network to achieve the same fill rates as scale-free networks. Inventory mitigation improves fill-rate more than contingent rerouting regardless of network topology. Contingent rerouting is not effective for scale-free networks due to the low number of alternative suppliers, particularly for short-lasting disruptions. We also find that applying inventory mitigation to the most disrupted suppliers is only effective when the network is exposed to frequent disruptions; and not cost effective otherwise. Our work contributes to the emerging field of research on the relationship between complex supply network topology and resilience.

5 HR systems, attachment styles with leaders, and the creativity–innovation nexus
The aim of this paper is to bring together literature on strategic human resource management and leadership and theorize about their cross-level interplay. Specifically, we offer propositions in relation to the interactive influence of attachment styles that followers perceive to have developed in their dyadic relationship with their leaders/supervisors and HR systems on individual innovation processes. We narrow in on three leadership attachment styles perceived by employees (secure, anxious, and avoidant) and two opposite HR systems in organizations (compliance and commitment) in order to propose that their interactions have different roles in predicting two different elements of employees innovative work behavior: idea generation and idea implementation behaviors. Our theorizing results in a conceptual model and a matrix of 12 specific propositions about potentially promoting (complementing or positively supplementing) or inhibiting (in the case of no fit or negative supplement) multiple effects of different combinations of attachment styles and HR systems. We conclude by discussing suggestions for future research, methodological considerations, and practical implications.

6 Founder attachment style and its effects on socioemotional wealth objectives and HR system design
In this paper, we draw on attachment theory from the family science literature to develop theoretical propositions that explain variability in one of the most distinguishing features of family firms – its socioemotional wealth (SEW) preservation objectives. Three different attachment styles of founders (avoidant, anxious, secure) are argued to have an imprinting effect on the family firm regarding the relative emphasis that is placed on the preservation of a particular SEW objective (maintenance of control, dynastic perpetuation, reputation) and in turn the HR strategy it chooses to enact (compliance, commitment, collaborative). Avoidant founders are shown to emphasize control as an SEW goal leading them to choose a compliance HR strategy, while anxious founders emphasize dynastic perpetuation that fits well with a commitment HR strategy. Lastly, secure founders are shown to place a priority on reputation, which a collaborative HR strategy helps to reinforce. Contingencies for these relationships are discussed as well as the implications of our model for theory, practice and research.

7 CEO turnover in family firms: How social exchange relationships influence whether a non-family CEO stays or leaves
Interpersonal relationships are an important factor in organizations, and a growing number of articles examine how such relationships affect why people stay or leave organizations. In this article, we investigate how affective attachment between actors influences the turnover and retention process of non-family CEOs in family firms. By employing a social exchange perspective, we reveal under which conditions affective attachment come into being. We focus on the relationship between a non-family CEO and two generations of the owner family. Conceptualizing their relationship as an exchange triad, we show how imbalances influence the affective attachment created in this triad and outline the implications for turnover. Our article contributes to the literature on family businesses and turnover by linking the affective side of interpersonal relationships to CEO retention and turnover.

8 Social determinants of place attachment at a World Heritage Site
While the work on place attachment is extensive, it neglects to focus on residents and tourists perspectives of the construct concurrently. Additionally, the role that social factors play in forging attachment to place is lacking within the tourism literature. This work focuses on whether residents (n = 469) and tourists (n = 461) degree of place attachment at the Osun Oshogbo Cultural Festival (Nigeria) were significantly different. Examining the psychometric properties of the place attachment scale in an international context was a second aim. The final purpose of this work was to assess whether social factors (i.e., frequency of interaction and emotional closeness) between residents and tourists could explain the resulting CFA place attachment factors. MANOVA results revealed tourists demonstrated a significantly higher degree of attachment. Each social determinant predicted the attachment factors for both samples, with the two independent variables explaining higher degrees of variance among residents.

9 Sense of place and sustainability of intangible cultural heritage – The case of George Town and Melaka
The pressure of tourism on heritage sites is threatening the cultural heritage of such places. Local community voices should be studied in order to understand what and how to preserve the intangible cultural heritage at WHSs as they are the main players of this intangible heritage. With reference to the concepts of place attachment, this study examines the elements of ‘person-place bonding’ that may contribute to the sustainability of intangible cultural heritage, and how these elements help the sustainability of heritage tourism. In-depth interviews, observations were conducted in the WHSs of George Town and Melaka, Malaysia. A total of 32 documents were analysed. The ‘Sense of Loss’, ‘Sense of Justice’ and ‘Sense of Mission’ emerged as the three main themes of ‘person-place bonding’. This bonding motivates community participation in sustaining the intangible cultural heritage they value. Besides, ‘awareness’ and ‘creativity’ are two vital codes that link the ecosystem of WHSs.

10 Ranking themes on co-word networks: Exploring the relationships among different metrics
As network analysis methods prevail, more metrics are applied to co-word networks to reveal hot topics in a field. However, few studies have examined the relationships among these metrics. To bridge this gap, this study explores the relationships among different ranking metrics, including one frequency-based and six network-based metrics, in order to understand the impact of net work structural features on ranking themes on co-word networks. We collected bibliographic data from three disciplines from Web of Science (WoS), and generated 40 simulation networks following the preferential attachment assumption. Correlation analysis on the empirical and si mulated networks shows strong relationships among the metrics. Their relationships are con sistent across disciplines. The metrics can be categorized into three groups according to the strength of their correlations, where Degree Centrality, H-index, and Coreness are in one group, Betweenness Centrality, Clustering Coefficient, and frequency in another, and Weighted PageRank by itself. Regression analysis on the simulation networks reveals that network topology properties, such as connectivity, sparsity, and aggregation, influence the relationships among selected metrics. In addition, when comparing the top keywords ranked by the metrics in the three disciplines, we found the metrics exhibit different discriminative capacity. Coreness and H index may be better suited for categorizing keywords rather than ranking keywords. Findings from this study contribute to a better understanding of the relationships among different metrics and provide guidance for using them effectively in different contexts.
