1 LAMD: Location-based Alert Message Dissemination scheme for emerging infrastructure-based vehicular networks
Requiring low dissemination delays and thorough vehicles coverage in the vicinity of an emergency event, Vehicular Ad-hoc NETworks (VANETs) were considered as the most adapted communication network to support alert messages dissemination. With the advent of Cooperative ITS services, emerging vehicular networks are expected to increasingly rely on Vehicle to Infrastructure (V2I) communication links, which are expected to be nominally available, with some transient and time-limited connectivity losses. The presence of V2I links paves the way to centralized network control, which can leverage vehicle-related and contextual information provided by the cloud to make more informed decisions. This paper proposes an effective alert message dissemination procedure called LAMD (Location-based Alert Messages Dissemination) for emerging vehicular networks that combines V2I broadcasts with selected V2V (Vehicle to Vehicle) rebroadcasts. The originality of our scheme lies in the selection process of V2V rebroadcasts, which is based on vehicles’ location regarding predefined rebroadcast points selected by a centralized controller. This leads to very limited collisions, low delivery delays, and high information coverage with insignificant signaling and network overhead compared to legacy VANET based dissemination techniques.

2 Trust-aware and incentive-based offloading scheme for secure multi-party computation in Internet of Things
Adoption of multi-party computation in IoT provides the required processing power needed by the IoT devices to provide smart services in the shortest time. However, this requires a secure offloading scheme that is capable of fairly offloading the computations of source nodes to a different set of workers, guarantees the privacy of the source nodes, and verifies the correctness of results without a third party at a low overhead.
In this paper, we formulate a secure privacy-preserving offloading scheme based on modified secret sharing to offload computations and data to a different set of workers. We also develop incentive and trust models to encourage honesty and willingness and discourage delay among workers during multi-party computation. Last, we develop a low overhead morphism-based verification technique for the self-verification of the correctness of results. We finally present the security analysis of the scheme which shows that the schemes meet up with the necessary security requirements, and the experimental results show the capability of the scheme in terms of its security functionalities, low computation cost, effective verification of results, and generation of incentives and trust values for workers during multi-party computation.

3 Optimal generic and brand advertising efforts in a decentralized supply chain considering customer surplus
While the previous researches of advertising efforts decisions focus on only the firms’ profit target, no literatureintroduces corporation social responsibility target into advertising efforts decisions of a supply chain (SC). To fill this gap, we consider a two-stage SC with a manufacturer and a retailer where the SC members consider the customer surplus. Both the retailer and the manufacturer can invest in generic advertising efforts to influence and increase the products’ sales volumes. This paper investigates the following four scenarios: (1) The retailer cares the customer surplus (Model I); (2) The manufacturer cares the customer surplus (Model II); (3) Both the retailer and the manufacturer care the customer surplus (Model III); (4) We then extend the model III to the case that the manufacturer invests in both the generic and brand advertising efforts (Model IV). The objective of this paper is to determine the optimal retail price, the optimal advertising efforts, and the optimal profits of SC members, and find the influence of customer concern level on the SC performance. Finally, numerical examples are conducted to investigate the influence of the customer concern levels of the retailer or the manufacturer on the profits of the SC members and the entire SC. We also study the joint impacts of the customer concern levels of the retailer and the manufacturer on the SC performance. We find that the SC obtains the highest profits when the retailer’s customer concern level and the manufacturer’s customer concern level are relatively high, and the best cooperative strategy for the retailer and the manufacturer is that they improve customer concern level simultaneously.

4 3PL firm’s equity financing for technology innovation in a platform supply chain
Technologies have been driving improvements in logistics and transportation. Focusing on a third-party logistics (3PL) firm’s technology innovations supported by external equity financing, we examine how the innovations can benefit the supply chain, and how the supply chain members should respond with coordinated operational decisions. More specifically, we consider a platform supply chain where a supplier sells a single product on an online platform provided by a retailer, and then hires a 3PL firm for transportation services. The 3PL firm may choose to raise capital through equity financing from external financial institutions, which can be used to support technology innovations to reduce the transportation cost. The financing decision of the 3PL in- teracts with operational decisions of the platform supply chain via possible cost savings. We start with investigating the supply chain coordination by characterizing the optimal operational decisions of the three firms under any given equity financing strategy. Acting non-cooperatively, the 3PL firm and the online retailer first determine the freight charge and revenue sharing respectively, in light of which the supplier’s decision on the retail price. We then move to the 3PL firm internally and derive the optimal equity financing strategy. Our analytical results show that the supply chain efficiency is dependent on the cost allocation between the retailer and the other two firms, but independent of the cost allocation between those two firms. It is also revealed that the original shareholders of the 3PL firm always have a chance to benefit from an appropriate financing strategy, and the optimal financing strategy may depend discontinuously on supply chain parameters. Finally, we check the robustness of our model and show that all key findings remain unchanged when relaxing the deterministic cost reduction to an uncertain one.

5 Vision-based finite-time uncooperative target tracking for UAV subject to actuator saturation
In this paper, a vision-based finite-time control is proposed for an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) subject to actuator saturation to track an uncooperative target. The finite-time control is designed within a backstepping-type framework, where states of the uncooperative target cannot be measured directly and are estimated by a monocular camera equipped on the UAV. It is proven that, with the given control, the UAV with actuator saturation is capable of reaching the target for a finite settling time. Based on available initial states, the finite settling time can be estimated a priori. The theoretical results are illustrated by a simulation example.© 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

6 Shared warehouse as an inter-supply chain cooperation strategy to reduce the time-dependent deterioration costs
Deterioration is one of the main concerns of many food and drug products. To reduce the effects of this phenomenon, various strategies have been proposed so far. In this paper, the collaboration of distributors in two different supply chains using a shared warehouse and its impacts on the deterioration of products which is time- dependent are investigated. Moreover, innovative algorithms are proposed to extract the solution of the models in the non-integrated and integrated supply chains. Next, the cooperative game theory is used to share the benefits of the cooperation between distributors. The numerical results of the paper indicate the efficiency of the proposed strategy in reducing the cost and deterioration of the supply chains. Furthermore, to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed model in different real-world problems, four possible categories of the deterioration rate are scrutinized. The results of this investigation denote that the strategy has high effectiveness in all categories while in the category that the deterioration rate is a linear function of the time, the saving in the deterioration cost using the strategy is greatest. Also, conducting a sensitivity analysis, it is revealed that the greater the difference in the ordering cost of distributors, the greater the effectiveness of the strategy in reducing supply chain costs.

7 Moving towards circular bioeconomy: Managing olive cake supply chain through contracts
Circular bioeconomy represents a recent political vision expected to contribute in tackling the main challenges faced when sustainable industrial transition trajectories are to be implemented. Coordination and interdependence among actors are crucial steps for value creation when developing new sustainable supply chains. Current study is based on a choice experiment devised with contract design theory applied to a specific supply chain in which a circular bioeconomy strategy is implemented. It investigates the propensity of Sicilian millers to participate in a novel supply chain in which feedstuff is produced by processing a by-product, namely olive cake. Furthermore, millers contract attributes’ preferences are analysed. The results from two econometric models reveal that 71% of the interviewed entrepreneurs would participate in the proposed supply chain while the propensity to participate is positively related with firm size and millers’ attitudes but decreases if millers experienced previous investments or have previously participated in cooperatives. Moreover, respondents prefer shorter length of contract, with a minimum guarantee price, with a renegotiation option, and without the obligation of a minimum volume of product to be supplied. Contract agreements, when contract characteristics are designed ad hoc, are proved to be effective tools for circular bioeconomy supply-chain development.

8 Understanding knowledge hiding in business organizations: A bibliometric analysis of research trends, 1988–2020
This paper investigates how knowledge hiding (KH) contributes to individuals, groups, and the business pro- cesses of organizations, with regards to improving employee performance, strategic performance, and the or- ganization’s overall knowledge management system (KMS), as well as the consequences and costs of KH in organizations. 117 English language research articles produced between 1988 and 2020 regarding KH are analyzed, and insights provided into science mapping and performance analysis of KH studies, by drawing ev- idence from publication activities, prominent themes, citation trends, and collaborations amongst contributors. The findings reveal that KH research has mainly focused on KH behavior, knowledge sharing (KS), and the KMS. Firms with KH practices are responsible for challenging employee creativity, motivation, and workplace envi- ronment. This study will help business managers and leaders hone cooperative behavior to achieve an innovative environment and desired goals. Knowledge hiding also has positive implications, where leaders may have to hide confidential information from external elements or internal subordinates to protect the enterprise’s sovereignty and integrity.

9 Remote 3D face reconstruction by means of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles
Remote 3D face reconstruction by means of autonomous unmanned aerial vehicles-2021
The 3D face model of an individual includes a rich amount of information useful in many application scenarios. Currently, the 3D reconstruction from images is obtained through multiple acquisitions at different distances and angles in a controlled environment. “In the wild’ conditions, or inadequate acquisition systems, can make 3D reconstruction a strongly error-prone problem. This paper illustrates a system that creates 3D face models from images taken by unmanned aerial vehicles in a completely automatic way. The proposed method is adaptive, dynamic, and contactless. No human intervention is required for image acquisition. Experimental results are described—in particular, the comparison between the ideal 3D reconstructions, obtained in controlled and cooperative conditions, and the reconstructions obtained by the drone during flight at different resolutions. The results show good overlap of the models and a low co-registration error. Given the free mobility of the UAVs, the system is suitable, among other applications, for biometrics and open-air access control over large areas.

10 Negotiation-sequence, pricing, and ordering decisions in a three-echelon supply chain: A coopetitive-game analysis
We investigate a three-echelon supply chain in which a distributor at the middle echelon negotiates two wholesale price contracts with his upstream manufacturer and downstream retailer. In the first stage, the distributor decides on whether to first negotiate with the manufacturer or with the retailer; in the second (combined, noncooperative-cooperative, game) stage, the two negotiations are conducted sequentially. We find that the supply chain can be coordinated if the distributor first negotiates with the retailer. The distributor should choose the negotiation sequence for supply chain coordination, if he has a sufficiently large (small) relative bargaining power in the negotiation with the manufacturer (the retailer). We also extend our analysis to the cases in which the distributor and the manufacturer negotiate a buyback or two-part tariff contract, and draw similar outcomes when the distributor first negotiates with the retailer. In addition, under the two-part tariff contract, the distributor prefers to first negotiate with the retailer if the manufacturer has a sufficiently high disagreement payoff whereas, under the buyback contract, the distributor always prefers to first negotiate with the firm with a stronger bargaining power. Moreover, the two-part tariff (buyback) contract cannot (can) always coordinate the supply chain.
