Assessing the eco-efficiency of a circular economy system in Chinas coal mining areas: Emergy and data envelopment analysis
ارزیابی کارآیی سازگار با محیط زیست یک سیستم اقتصاد دایره ای در مناطق استخراج زغال سنگ چین: تجزیه و تحلیل اضطراری پوششی داده ها-2019 Improving the eco-efficiency of the circular economy system in mining areas has been recognized as the
most effective way to reduce the greenhouse effect and achieve sustainable development. Based on the
emergy theory and on data envelopment analysis (DEA), this paper adopts the SBM-Undesirable model
to evaluate the eco-efficiency of the circular economy system in Chinas largest coal mining area, Shanxi
Province, during the period 2006e2015. Emergy flow indices are treated as input and output indices.
Eco-efficiency is factorized into economic efficiency and environmental efficiency. The potential for
improvement of the circular economy system is analyzed based on input redundancy and output deficiency.
The results for the period 2006e2015 indicate the following: (1) both the input and the output of
the circular system increase during this period; (2) the increased input relies on mostly imported
emergy, and the increase inwaste emergy is lower than the exported emergy; (3) eco-efficiency is invalid
except for 2011 and 2012 and exhibits a decreasing trend beginning in 2013; (4) environmental efficiency
is invalid over the entire period, and the eco-efficiency level is positively related to the economic efficiency
score; and (5) the circular economy system has a larger energy saving space, and the key to

Joint analysis of eco-efficiency and eco-innovation with common weights in two-stage network DEA: A big data approach
تجزیه و تحلیل مشترک از بهره وری اقتصادی و نوآوری های زیست محیطی با وزن های رایج در شبکه دو مرحله ای DEA: رویکرد داده های بزرگ-2018 The joint investigation of economic growth and environmental impact has led research to develop evaluation
models on environmental and economic changes, especially on eco-innovation and eco-efficient products. In this
paper, a novel approach is proposed to find the common set of weights in a two-stage network data envelopment
analysis based on goal programming to analyze the joint effects of eco-efficiency and eco-innovation, considering
the undesirable inputs, intermediate products, and the outputs in the context of big data. Applying the model to
the countries in the OECD and ranking the results show that Switzerland is highest in eco-efficiency and Estonia
is highest in eco-innovation.

Modelling green and lean supply chains: An eco-efficiency perspective
مدل سازی زنجیره تامین سبز و ناب: چشم انداز سازگار با محیط زیست بهره وری-2017 This manuscript proposes a model to support decision making and to help managers identify the best
set of green and lean supply chain management practices to improve their eco-efficiency. To attain this
objective, a mathematical model based on eco-efficiency concepts is suggested to overcome the trade-offs
between lean and green practices. To illustrate the model application, a case study from an automotive
supply chain is presented. Some management practices that are instituted for green or lean benefits
have opposite effects on the environmental and economic performance of companies. One of the main
findings of our study is that not all companies belonging to the same supply chain can be absolutely lean
or green. There should be compromises in the individual companies’ behaviour so the environmental and
economic constraints of the supply chain are both satisfied. The proposed model represents a strategic
framework to support the design of eco-efficient supply chains.

Tourism eco-efficiency of Chinese coastal cities - Analysis based on the DEA-Tobit model
اقتصاد اکولوژیکی گردشگری شهرهای ساحلی چینی - تجزیه و تحلیل بر اساس مدل DEA-Tobit-2017 Tourism eco-efficiency plays an important role in the environment due to serious environment pollution
and resource consumption. An evaluation of the tourism eco-efficiency of 53 Chinese coastal cities was
conducted for 2003e2013, exploring the overall efficiency levels, regional differences, eco-efficiency
types and influencing factors. To achieve the objectives of the study, a data envelopment analysis
(DEA)-Tobit model is applied. The major findings indicate that the overall tourism eco-efficiency of
Chinese coastal cities is 0.860, which means that only a few cities are effectively efficient and that most
cities still have room for improvement. This finding implies that tourism development has a more
negative impact on the environment and that there are substantial regional differences in efficiency. The
results also show that economic and ecological indicators have significantly positive influences on the
tourism eco-efficiency of Chinese coastal cities, while the number of tourists and the use of three major
pollutants in the tourism industry have a negative impact. We identify several influencing factors and
propose several suggestions for increasing tourism eco-efficiency and the development quality of Chinese coastal cities
