Improving learning in the management of gender violence: Educational impact of a training program with reflective analysis of dramatized video problems in postgraduate nurses
بهبود یادگیری در مدیریت خشونت جنسیتی:تأثیر آموزشی یک برنامه آموزشی با تجزیه و تحلیل بازتابنده مشکلات ویدئویی دراماتیک در پرستاران کارشناسی ارشد-2021 Background: Most gender-based violence victims who sought help in Spain did so through health services.
Training on gender-based violence with active learning methodologies promotes the management of knowledge,
reflection, and adaptation to change. Nurses, along with an educator, can construct knowledge with the same
strategies they will use professionally.
Purpose: To evaluate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes associated of postgraduate nurses on gender-based
violence before and after a reflection-based training program with dramatized problem-videos. The secondary
objectives were to evaluate the knowledge in the activation of protocols, skills, and attitudes in the management
of women who are victims of gender-based violence, the consolidation of learning, and the applicability to the
workplace.
Methods: Pre-post quasi-experimental study without a control group. A specifically validated and designed in-
strument was utilized to evaluate the dimensions of knowledge, skills, and attitudes when facing gender-based
violence, before and after the training sessions, along with additional questions to assess if the participants
possessed better tools to address gender-based violence.
Results: The difference between the pre and post-tests was statistically significant for the dimensions knowledge,
skills, and attitude (p < 0.05), with a smaller effect size in the dimensions skills and attitude. Also, high scores
were observed in the consolidation of learning and applicability to the workplace.
Conclusion: Reflection-based training with dramatized problem-videos improved the acquisition of tools neces-
sary for the detection and management of gender-based violence of nurses. keywords: پرستاری آموزش و پرورش | خشونت بر اساس جنسیت | یادگیری فعال | یادگیری آنلاین | ارزیابی کمی | Education nursing | Gender-based violence | Active learning | Online learning | Quantitative evaluation |

‘This is a competition’: The relationship between examination pressure and gender violence in primary schools in Kenya
"این یک رقابت است": رابطه بین فشار آزمایش و تجاوز جنسیتی در مدارس ابتدایی در کنیا-2018 This study explores the relationship between gender violence in schools and teaching and learning processes in two case study primary schools in Kirinyaga County, Kenya. For seven months in 2015, the following qualitative methods were used: participant observation, individual teacher interviews, individual art-based student interviews and member-check interviews with teachers and students. Findings indicate that examination pressure can directly and indirectly perpetuate gender violence in schools by using corporal punishment and public humiliation as motivational tools and by diverting resources from efforts to enhance safety and equality to ever more time for exam preparation.

Gender Violence and Social Networks in Adolescents: The Case of the Province of Malaga
خشونت جنسیتی و شبکه های اجتماعی نوجوانان: مورد استان مالاگا-2017 Gender violence and the violence exerted on social networks are particularly current issues of interest for both the scientific
community and the media. When both types of violence are present during adolescence, a more specific area of study arises that is
circumscribed to cyberbullying exerted and suffered by adolescents on the Internet. This work is part of a larger project carried out
in secondary schools in Spain, with special focus on Andalusia (financed by BBVA, 2014-2016). The case here presented is the
one for the province of Malaga. The educational community of Malaga is of a peculiar and heterogeneous nature that combines a
large foreign section of the population that was the result of tourism (since the seventies in the past century) with other migratory
phenomena that are shared with other regions of Spain. The purpose of the study was to show the prevalence of gender violence
among adolescent students in the 15-17-year age bracket from the province of Malaga, and to identify the predictive factors of
occasional and frequent violence on social networks. A survey was designed and validated that was applied in electronic format to
a random sample of public schools in Malaga (n=282). The sample size allowed us to work with an error of ±0.06 (confidence level
of 95%). The results and conclusions identify predictive factors of occasional and frequent violence, and suggest improvements to
be made in action guidelines and protocols, as well as in the action to foster awareness among adolescents and the general public
in regard to these issues.
