1 Green supply chain management and clean technology innovation: An empirical analysis of multinational enterprises in China
This study identifies the impact of green supply chain management (GSCM) on clean technology innovation (CTI) by enterprises in China as well as compares the effects of forward and backward GSCM and the differences by industry and home country. The effect of CTI on GSCM is tested by 501 samples of mostly multinational enterprises in China from 2014 to 2016. The results indicate that CTI benefits from GSCM, which remains robust to a series of sensitivity test. And different management directions show great differences, where the backward GSCM has a stronger promotion effect on CTI than the forward GSCM. Moreover, light polluting industries and capital-intensive industries have stronger incentives to adopt GSCM than heavy-polluting industries and labour intensive industries. And domestic companies perform better than foreign companies.

2 Integrating corporate website information into qualitative assessment for benchmarking green supply chain management practices for the chemical industry
The China’s chemical industry has been endeavoring to promote sustainable development through practicing green supply chain management (GSCM). This paper proposes a multi-criteria decision framework with twenty practices to guide companies in the industry to enact GSCM effectively. The exploratory factor analysis (EFA) has been used to cluster the proposed practices. We found five aspects, including economic initiatives, environmental management, eco-design, resource recycling, and stakeholder and employee, constitute the underlying structure of GSCM. A mixed decision tool combining the entropy weight method (EWM) and the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) has been developed and applied to identify key factors. Official website information has been collected and used to analyse the website contents of five benchmarking companies in the China’s chemical industry. The results reveal that the aspects of environmental management, eco-design and resource recycling are the most important GSCM themes. Moreover, the top five practices are top management support, performing life cycle assessment, managing environmental risks, advancing recycling technologies and integrating reverse logistics. Conceptual and practical implications are discussed.

3 Who will take on green product development in supply chains? Manufacturer or retailer
: This paper investigates the optimal decisions, profits and social welfare in a green supply chain (GSC) when the manufacturer or retailer conducts green product development. Two Stackelberg game models are constructed here: the manufacturer-led green product development model (MD model) and retailer-led green product development model (RD model), and it is assumed that the green product developer is risk-averse. Then the optimal decisions and members’ profits under two models are obtained. Through comparing them, the results show that the product greenness and leader’s profit are always higher in MD model, but in which model the retail price, wholesale price and follower’s profit are higher/lower is related to the cost coefficient of green product development, the leaders’ risk aversion, and demand uncertainty. Moreover, the risk aversion and demand uncertainty have a negative impact on most decisions and profits, but their impact on followers’ profits under two models and the wholesale price of RD model are still affected by the cost coefficient of green product development. Finally, numerical experiments are used to compare the total profits and social welfare under two models. The results indicate that in most cases, the GSC’s total profit under RD model is higher, but the social welfare under MD model is higher.

4 Multi-objective optimization modelling of sustainable green supply chain in inventory and production management
The ever increasing pressure to conserve the environment from global warming cannot be overemphasized. Emission from the inventory and production process contributes immensely to global warming and hence, the need to device a sustainable green inventory by the operational managers. In this paper, a multi-item multi-objective inventory model with back-ordered quantity incorporating green investment in order to save the environment is proposed. The model is formulated as a multi-objective fractional programming problem with four objectives: maximizing profit ratio to total back-ordered quantity, minimizing the holding cost in the system, minimizing total waste produced by the inventory system per cycle and minimizing the total penalty cost due to green investment. The constraints are included with budget limitation, space restrictions, a constraint on cost of ordering each item, environmental waste disposal restriction, cost of pollution control, electricity consumption cost during production and cost of greenhouse gas emission in the production process. The model effectiveness is illustrated numerically, and the solution obtained to give a useful suggestion to the decision-markers in the manufacturing sectors.

5 Analysis of the innovation strategies for green supply chain management in the energy industry using the QFD-based hybrid interval valued intuitionistic fuzzy decision approach
This study aims to analyze the innovation strategies for the green supply chain management with QFD (quality function deployment) multidimensionally. The novelty of the study is to define the criteria of green supply chain for each stage of QFD and propose a hybrid model by IVIF (interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy) DEMATEL (decision making trial and evaluation laboratory) and IVIF MOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis) respectively. The results demonstrate that understanding the customer expectations with customer relation management is the most important innovation strategy for the green supply chain management in en- ergy industry with the consecutive stages of QFD whereas benchmarking the competitive market environment has relatively the last seat in the ranking. Hence, it is recommended that energy companies should have an effective customer relationship management. In this context, these companies should make a detailed analysis to learn what their customers directly expect from them. With the help of this issue, these companies should generate their product and services based on these expectations. Additionally, it is also stated that new service and product development is also essential for energy companies to improve their innovativeness. For this pur- pose, a research and development department should be created, and the qualified people should be employed. Additionally, different opinions should be collected from various parties, such as customers, employees, and suppliers. Since customers who are satisfied will prefer these companies, the energy companies can catch the opportunity to increase their market share.

6 Shareholding strategies for selling green products on online platforms in a two-echelon supply chain
Observing the practical vertical shareholding phenomena in platform retailing, this paper con- siders two shareholding rates (forward and backward) and proposes three shareholding strategies (forward, backward and cross-shareholding) in a supplier-lead green supply chain to investigate the operation mechanism behind it. Shareholding’s impacts on green investment, prices and profits are provided and the players’ strategy preferences are discussed. We interestingly find that cross-shareholding can be joint optimal when the two shareholding rates are both sufficiently low and thereby Pareto region goes with it. Meanwhile, both the players’ performances can be further improved through certain coordinated ways.

7 Application of green supply chain management in the oil Industries: Modeling and performance analysis
Environmental concerns relating to production affairs have made various organizations use green practices in different processes of supply chain, because the green supply chain management (GSCM) is considered as an important organizational philosophy to decrease environmental risks and as a preventive approach in order to increase environmental performance and achievement of competitive advantages for organizations. The purpose of the present article is to design an interactive model for the practices of GSCM and its application to clustering oil industries for analyzing their green performance. Therefore, the literature was studied and a total of fifteen practices were obtained using experts’ opinions in academic and oil industry professionals. In next, the fuzzy interpretative structural modeling (FISM) approach was utilized so as to determine the relationship between the practices through considering the linguistic ambiguities of judgments and designing the structural model. The existing relationships within the structural model were studied and tested by means of structural equation modeling (SEM). After that, the relative importance of each practice was calculated by applying fuzzy analysis network process (FANP). In the next, the oil industries were categorized in two clusters using the K-means algorithm aggregated to the particle swarm optimization algorithm. Results of the present study showed that ‘‘legal requirements and regulations”, ‘‘intra-organizational environmental management”, ‘‘green design” and ‘‘green technology” are of root and influential practices with relatively more importance than others; in addition, it was cleared that the first cluster industries have high performance whereas the second ones have medium performance from the viewpoint of considering the practices of GSCM. Finally, the discriminant function designed to forecasting environment performance of the oil industries and member- ship to clusters for each of them.© 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. 8 Green and low carbon matters: A systematic review of the past, today, and future on sustainability supply chain management practices among manufacturing industry
Journal Pre-proof Climate change has arisen as one of human beings most significant threats. A higher proportion of carbon dioxide emissions are produced from developing countries as manufacturing globalization requires more and more emerging nations. The predicament between carbon reduction and fast industrial development makes firms in developing countries reluctant to take thoughtful commitment and actions in carbon dioxide emission reduction in their global manufacturing practices. Sustainability, green, and low-carbon supply chain networks research is still also in its infant stage from a theoretical perspective and requires further research and development. Therefore this research aims to address the research question: “Why and how organizations are adopting sustainable strategies in developing countries to increase sustainable supply chain management practices in the manufacturing?”. In order to thoroughly analyse the literature, this paper used ATLAS. ti 9 software tools to save, identify, and assess the data for this study. We reviewed, compiled, and sorted papers from 326 publications for this article and then recognized 160 as critical to the work scope. The results reveal that the organizations current concentration is on improving internal environmental efficiency related to its mid-stream SCM activities. The introduction of environmental practices at the external level (downstream and upstream) is relatively limited, and few organizations are collaborating effectively with supply chain partners to improve their SSCM performance. The results also show that organizational performance, reputation/risk management, customer pressure, and top management support are primary motivators for organizations to embrace SSCM practices. The typology suggests that companies need to consider and recognize their key sustainability risk in the past, current, and future to have a simple organizational design to innovative management methods to handle their sustainable supply chain practices.

9 Hierarchical structure of a green supply chain
Since the past decades, environmental challenges have been increasing due to pollution and production costs. For sustainable development, a green supply chain integrates the sustainable environmental process into the tradi- tional supply chain, reducing the cost of production, spur economic growth, and solving ecological issues. Thus, exploring the feasible design of green supply chain systems becomes an essential requirement for industry and commercial organizations. However, the green supply chain system usually integrates various systems currently used by the participants of supply chains. The design of such a large-scale system is quite costly through the conventional discrete event simulation-based approaches. Moreover, formal modelling method (e.g. Petri nets), as an alternative approach, provides formal and efficient support to model creation and analysis. However, the Petri nets cannot achieve compositional modelling, particularly for large-scale and complex systems, e.g., the green supply chain system. For improved compositionality, this paper proposes a hybrid modelling technique to integrate the compositional feature into Petri nets by combining with process algebra due to its superior capability in compositional modelling. The hybrid technique supports the modelling with Petri nets at first. It sorts the incidence matrix of Petri nets’ models to retrieves the mapping relation between Petri nets and performance evaluation process algebra (i.e. PEPA, a formal modelling method based on process algebra), which represents the compositional structure of Petri-net models. Hence, a compositional-structure constructing algorithm is designed to obtain all qualified PEPA hierarchical sub-models based on Petri net models, which combines Petri nets’ usability and the compositionality of PEPA for creating a novel and enhanced formal modelling technique that is particularly suitable for systems such as green supply chain systems.

10 Pricing and greening decisions of competitive forward and reverse supply chains under government financial intervention: Iranian motorcycle industry case study
The necessity for sustainable development and to support eco-friendly products have manifold the government responsibility in directing green activities. This paper theoretically studies the moderating role of government in pricing and greening decisions of chain-to-chain competition in developing substitutable green products under government involvement in supporting green product distribution and/or recycling through assigning monetary tariffs to customers and practically adjusts a real-world case study of the Iranian motorcycle industry issues. We examine two competitive supply chains (SCs) consisting of one retailer and one manufacturer under two-way logistics, i.e. forward SC that distributes green products and backward SC that collects pollutant products from the market. In addition to maximizing the profit of each SC member and minimizing government expenditure, reductions in environmental pollution are also examined. This study examines the impact of government policies in equilibrium strategies through six scenarios, based on different government elective policies, and using Nash or Stackelberg game structures. A computational analysis of the case study reveals that under more constrained budget situations, the government should resist the urge to reduce recycling tariffs, compared with distribution tariffs. The greatest reduction in environmental pollution is achievable through: government financial support only for recycling with the lowest investment rejection behavior, following a Nash game, reducing greening costs, increasing tendencies towards environmental protection, and increasing the rate of recyclable products. The greatest profit for firms is obtainable through: government financial support of distribution and recycling logistics with the lowest tendency towards environmental protection, following a Nash game, reducing greening costs, reducing the investment rejection behavior of the government, and increasing the rate of recyclable products.
