1 Assessing the quantum-resistant cryptographic agility of routing and switching IT network infrastructure in a large-size financial organization

This paper provides exploratory research by determining the impact of quantum computing threat on modern routing and switching infrastructure components of IT network infrastructure in a large-size fi- nancial organization. We determine whether common routing and switching IT network infrastructure, including its hardware and software components, have enough cryptographic agility to accommodate the change of cryptographic algorithms to the ones that do not exhibit vulnerability to quantum computing and to the ones that are compliant with National Security Agency (NSA) Suite B set of protocols. We pinpoint upstream or downstream impacts of a change in the encryption algorithms across various IT network infrastructure components in terms of effort required to accomplish this transition. This study is among the first studies that investigate quantum-resistance cryptographic from the hard- ware perspectives of routing and switching technologies using diffusion of innovation theory. The study integrates enterprise governance to meet the challenges presented by quantum-computing with a focus on cryptographic agility. We offer an enterprise architecture framework for assessing the dependencies, costs, and benefits of IT infrastructure migration plan to meet the future challenges of quantum-resistant cryptographic. The analysis in this research can be used by IT managers to pre-plan for an upgrade of routing and switching infrastructure, assist in estimating the effort s required to perform these upgrades, and assist in selecting a vendor of routing and switching equipment from the perspective of cryptographic agility. With today’s supercomputers, a computational task involved in breaking modern asymmetric cryptographic algorithms would be infeasible due to the required computational complexity. However, with progress in the devel- opment of quantum computing technology, firms are facing an increasing risk of potential security threats to existing encrypted data and secured transmission channels as the processing power of quantum com- puters continue to increase.

2 Relationships between project governance and information technology governance and their impact on project performance
روابط بین نظارت بر پروژه و نظارت بر فناوری اطلاعات و تاثیر آنها روی عملکرد پروژه-2018
This research endeavors to address the question of how to enhance project performance through exploring the relationships among information technology (IT) governance, project governance and project performance. The research utilizes an empirical survey methodology. The survey of 533 working professionals in various industries renders 282 usable responses or a response rate of 53.91%. The results suggest that both IT governance and project governance have a positive impact on project performance. Moreover, we found that three dimensions of IT governance (i.e., strategy setting, value delivery, and performance management) are positively associated with project performance while all three dimensions of project governance (i.e., portfolio direction, project sponsorship as well as project effectiveness & efficiency, and disclosure & reporting) are positively associated with project performance. Additionally, the alignment between IT governance and project governance is also found to be positively associated with project performance. These findings provide evidence to project management professionals in regard to IT governance and project governance being part of the operational strategy in facilitating the success of projects. It also demonstrates the importance of the alignment strategy between IT governance and project governance in enhancing project performance.

3 Business process management and IT management: The missing integration

The importance of business processes and the centrality of IT to contemporary organizations’ perfor-mance calls for a specific focus on business process management and IT management. Despite the widescope of business process management covering both business and IT domains, and the profound impactof IT on process innovations, the association between business process management and IT manage-ment is under-explored. Drawing on a literature analysis of the capabilities of business process and ITgovernance frameworks and findings from a case study, we propose the need for horizontal integrationbetween the two management functions to enable strategic and operational business—IT alignment. Wefurther argue that the role of IT in an organization influences the direction of integration between thetwo functions and thus the choice of integration mechanisms. Using case study findings, we propose thatIT as a business enabler respectively calls for sequential and reciprocal integrations at strategic and oper-ational planning levels. Drawing on logical reasoning, we suggest that IT as a strategic driver necessitatesreciprocal integration at both levels.
