1 Efficient and sustainable closed-loop supply chain network design: A two-stage stochastic formulation with a hybrid solution methodology

In recent years, consumers and legislators have pushed companies to design their supply chain networks to consider environmental and social impacts as an important performance outcome. Due to the role of resource utilization as a key component of logistics network design, another primary goal of design is ensuring available scarce resources are used as efficiently as possible across all facilities. To address efficiency issues in a sustainable closed-loop supply chain network, a stochastic integrated multi-objective mixed integer nonlinear programming model is developed in this paper, in which sustainability outcomes as well as efficiency of facility resource utilization are considered in the design of a sustainable supply chain network. In doing so, efficiency is assessed using a bi-objective output-oriented data envelopment analysis model. A hybrid three-step solution methodology is presented that creates a linear form of the original mixed integer nonlinear programming problem using piecewise McCormick envelopes approach. In the second step, an aggregated single objective programming model is derived by exploiting the multi-choice goal programming. Finally, a Lagrangian relaxation algorithm is developed to effectively solve the latter stochastic single objective mixed integer linear programming problem. The application of the proposed approach is investigated with data drawn from a case study in the electronics industry. This case study illustrates how firms may balance sustainability and efficiency in the supply chain network design problem. Further, it demonstrates the integration of efficiency results in improving economic aspects of sustainability as well as social responsibility outcomes, but also highlights the trade-offs that exist between efficiency and environmental impacts.

2 A detailed MILP formulation for the optimal design of advanced biofuel supply chains

The optimal design of a biomass supply chain is a complex problem, which must take into account multiple interrelated factors (i.e the spatial distribution of the network nodes, the efficient planning of logistics activities, etc.). Mixed Integer Linear Programming has proven to be an effective mathematical tool for the optimization of the design and the management strategy of Advanced Biofuel Supply Chains (ABSC). This work presents a MILP formulation of the economical optimization of ABSC design, comprising the definition of the associated weekly management plan. A general modeling approach is proposed with a network structure comprising two intermediate echelons (storage and conversion facilities) and accounts for train and truck freight transport. The model is declined for the case of a multi- feedstock ABSC for green methanol production tested on the Italian case study. Residual biomass feed- stocks considered are woodchips from primary forestry residues, grape pomace, and exhausted olive pomace. The calculated cost of methanol is equal to 418.7 V/t with conversion facility cost accounting for 50% of the fuel cost share while transportation and storage costs for around 15%. When considering only woodchips the price of methanol increases to 433.4 V/t outlining the advantages of multi-feedstock approach.© 2021 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. 3 Digital interoperability in logistics and supply chain management: state-of-the-art and research avenues towards Physical Internet

Interoperability is playing an increasing role for today’s logistics and supply chain management (LSCM) because of the trends of cooperation or coopetition. Especially, digital interoperability concerning data or information exchange becomes a key enabler for the next evolutions that will massively rely upon digitalization, artificial intelligence, and autonomous systems. The notion of Physical Internet (PI) is one such evolution, an innovative worldwide logistic paradigm aimed at interconnecting and coordinating logistics networks for efficiency and sustainability. This paper investigates how digital interoperability can help interconnect logistics and supply networks as well as the operational solutions for sustainable development, and examines the new challenges and research opportunities for digital interoperability under the PI paradigm. To this end, we study the most relevant technologies for digital interoperability in LSCM, via a bibliometric analysis based on 208 papers published during 2010−2020. The results reveal that the present state-of-the-art solutions of digital interoperability are not fully aligned with PI requirements and show new challenges, research gaps and opportunities that need further discussion. Accordingly, several research avenues are suggested to advance research and applications in this area, and to achieve interconnection in logistics and supply networks for sustainability.

4 Supply Chain Network Design Considering Customer Psychological Behavior-A 4PL Perspective

From the perspective of Fourth Party Logistics, a novel supply chain network design problem considering customer psychological behavior is proposed in this paper. First, we calculate the minimum cost of the supply chain network design in Fourth Party Logistics when the demand of customers is fully satisfied. In the shortage of the investment in the process of supply chain network design, the demand of customers can be partially satisfied. Then, customer psychological behavior is considered to maximize the value function of customer satisfaction under cost constraint. After introducing the definitions of the psychological reference point and the service level for customers based on the prospect theory, we formulate a non-linear integer programming model for Fourth Party Logistics network design problem. Since the objective function of the proposed model is non-linear, an approximation linearization method is introduced to adjust the proposed model to be an equivalent linear model. Numerical experiments are designed to justify the effectiveness of the proposed method. Through a thorough analysis on customer psychological behavior, it can be seen that customers tend to be more risk-averse for gains than risk-seeking for losses in Fourth Party Logistics supply chain network design. Moreover, valuable investment insights are recapitulated. This proposed method provides an effective tool for a Fourth Party Logistics provider to give reasonable suggestions to an investor in Fourth Party Logistics supply chain network design. Furthermore, we extended the basic model of 4PL supply chain network design considering customer satisfaction with multiple commodities and provided a solution method based on greedy adding heuristic to further reduce the calculation time for large scale cases.

5 Unstructured big data analytics for retrieving e-commerce logistics knowledge

The divergent evolution of e-commerce has complicated its correspondingly logistics manage ment. However, few studies have explored e-commerce logistics business models via big data analytics. Hence, this investigation explores e-commerce logistics business models from un structured big data. Specifically, this work develops a hybrid content analytical model to scru tinize essential knowledge of e-commerce logistics. The empirical results of the proposed model incorporate theories of resource dependence theory (RDT) and innovation diffusion theory (IDT) to generate logistical strategies. Ten critical themes of e-commerce logistics from topic mining are “Southeast Asia’s e-commerce logistics payments”, “E-commerce order management”, “E-com merce logistics cloud services”, “E-commerce logistics package management”, “Europe e-com merce trends”, “India’s e-commerce logistics”, “E-commerce distribution management”, “Tax policies”, “E-commerce logistics platforms”, and “E-commerce logistics networks”. Moreover, the fundamental rule of “cross-border e-commerce logistics” is uncovered by the association rules model. The proposed hybrid content analytics framework provides a research foundation for e commerce logistics management. Furthermore, e-commerce logistics can be implemented by vital strategies: “Establish inter-organizational and technical collaboration to create positive opera tions performance” and “Comprehend law, policy, and cultural differences to customize appro priate technologies of e-commerce logistics”.

6 Efficacy of Data Security in Managing the Database of SIMMAG 3D System

The basis of functioning of the systems from different industries are reliable data. They can be both input parameters for operation of individual modules and representation of their work results. Due to multitude of functions performed by these systems, number of necessary parameters is very big. The most convenient form for their storage and processing are database with implemented management system. This article presents how to manage database on example of IT system supporting area of logistics – SIMMAG 3D, prepared within framework of a project funded by the NCBR under the Program for Applied Research (PBS3). The aim of system is modeling of warehouse facilities in 3D, their visualization, spatial planning and evaluation of processes occurring in them, as well as placement of objects in logistics network. SIMMAG 3D system has modular structure and each module gets values from database. The flow of data between its elements was discussed. During flow of data can occur risk of access to them by unauthorized entities. This article analyzes database of SIMMAG 3D system in terms of data security against unauthorized access.

7 A large neighborhood search heuristic for supply chain network design

Many exact and approximate solution techniques have been used to solve facility location problems and, more generally, supply chain network design problems. Yet, the Large Neighborhood Search technique (LNS) has almost never been suggested for solving such problems, although it has proven its efficiency and flexibility in solving other complex combinatorial optimization problems. In this paper, we propose an LNS framework for solving a four-layer single period multi-product supply chain network design prob lem. One important feature of the model is that it includes inter-modality: the itinerary followed by the cargo from origin to destination may take several transportation modes. Moreover, several modes may compete on some arcs. Location decisions for intermediate facilities (e.g. plants and distribution centers) are determined by the LNS while transportation modes and product flow decisions are determined by a greedy heuristic. As a post-optimization step, linear programming is used to optimize product flows once the structure of the logistics network is fixed. Extensive experiments, based on randomly generated instances of different sizes and characteristics, show the effectiveness of the method compared with a state-of-the-art solver.

مصوباتی برای تولید کنندگان به منظور ادغام فاکتورهای محیطی در زمینه ی تصمیم گیری های آنها در صنایع مختلف وجود دارد . خودرو (وسایل نقلیه ی خودکار ) نام یکی از این بخش هاست و در بسیاری از کشورها، به ویژه درکشورهایی که عضو اتحادیه اروپا هستند، مقرراتی برای تضمین بازیافت پایان عمر وسایل نقلیه (ELVs) وجود دارد . در ترکیه، بهبود ELVs با مقررات مربوط به کنترل ELVsتنظیم میشود که توسط وزارت جمهوری محیط زیست ترکیه و جنگلداری در روزنامه رسمی درسال ۲۰۰۹ صادر شد . تولید کنندگان مسئول قبول مرجوعی های ELVs از کاربران نهایی وسپس بازیافت انها هستند . ما در این مقاله، به منظور تطابق با مقررات مرتبط و مدیریت موثربهبود ELVs مدل برنامه ریزی خطی عدد صحیح مختلط را(MILP) برای طراحی شبکه از جمله فاکتورهای مختلف درگیر در سیستم بازیابی ELV را ارائه میکنیم . چارچوب پیشنهادی , یک مورد واقعی در آنکارا، پایتخت و دومین شهر ترکیه انجام می شود.ما همچنین یک روش مدل سازی را برای طرح ریزی مالکیت خودرو و تعداد ELVs ارائه شده وسناریو تولید تجزیه و تحلیل شده بر اساس تحولات میانگین بلند مدت در تعداد ELVs مطرح میکنیم .مطالعه موردی و تجزیه و تحلیل های انجام شده , بینش های مهمی را در زمینه ی نحوه ی عملکرد شبکه ی لجستیک در طول زمان ارائه میکند .نتایج نشان داد که تعدادی از امکانات وجود دارد و هزینه های سیستم افزایش میابد در حالی که تعداد ELVs دراینده افزایش خواهد یافت .
