1 Analysis of barriers of sustainable supply chain management in electronics industry: An interpretive structural modelling approach

In the past, industries were concentrating only on the economic aspects of a business. Many organizations are now addressing the social and environment impact of their supply chain for which they are adopting sustainability in their supply chain. The process of transformation to a sustainable supply chain will encounter some barriers which need to be eliminated or mitigated. To successfully manage these obstacles, it is crucial to know and study these barriers in specific context. This research aims to identify and analyse major barriers hampering sustainability implementation in the case of electronics industry in India. Through literature review and experts’ opinion eleven barriers are identified and classified into categories of Policy, Human resource and Technology. The hierarchical structure and interrelationship among these barriers is established using Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) methodology. A major finding in this research is that lack of awareness on benefits of sustainability, lack of regulations and enforcement of environment standards and lack of commitment from top management are significant barriers in implementation of a sustainable supply chain. The driving and driven powers of these barriers and their interdependence is determined. Using MICMAC analysis, five barriers were recognized to be the driver variables, three barriers as dependent variables and three as linkage variables. The barrier lack of performance metrics/evaluation standards on sustainability is having strong dependence power and least driving power implying that it is highly influenced by other variables. It is found that most of the barriers in the policy category are independent with high driving and influencing power. The research draws attention to formulate targeted policies at both government and organizational level in the electronics industry for successful implementation of sustainable supply chain management. The modeling gives an insight to organizations in confronting barriers and to manage their resources in an efficient and effective way while making their supply chains sustainable. The paper concludes with findings and future scope of research being discussed.

2 Demystifying knowledge hiding in academic roles in higher education

This paper presents a novel conceptual map of how knowledge hiding is understood and practiced in the higher education context. Building on a review of the knowledge management literature, we first discuss the nature of knowledge, the conceptualization of knowledge hiding, and other related concepts. Next, we identify factors that are linked to knowledge hiding intention and behaviors at the individual, interpersonal and organizational levels based on three major roles of academics: teaching, research, and leadership-administration (or service), culmi- nating with an original conceptual map. Finally, based on the conceptual map, we present propositions that warrant future research to advance understanding about knowledge hiding in the higher education context. Our review and conceptual map provide important implications to the knowledge management literature at large.

3 The effects of inter- and intraorganizational factors on the adoption of electronic booking systems in the maritime supply chain

Digitalization is currently reshaping business models and providing more opportunities for cross-border supply chains. Maritime transportation occupies a crucial position in the global supply chain and information systems are playing an increasingly important role in the industry. In contrast with information systems used in other industries, interorganizational information systems in the maritime industry may involve a greater number of organizational users, including manufacturers, customers, shipping lines and customs and port authorities from different countries. Therefore, the adoption of container e-booking systems in the maritime supply chain is complex and with limited scrutiny in academia. This study explored the use of e-booking systems in the maritime supply chain and, in particular, the factors influencing the adoption of such systems at the organizational level. The study aimed to close the gap between the general understanding of the adoption of information systems and the adoption of e-booking systems in a specific context, namely the maritime supply chain. We conducted an exploratory multi-case study of eight firms across multiple tiers of the maritime supply chain. We employed a qualitative approach to investigate this issue at the maritime supply chain level, rather than the firm level. The study focused on inter- and intraorganizational factors. The results suggest that adoption is influenced by several factors, including pressure from trade partners, pressure from leading organizations, as well as organizational compatibility, and so forth. Furthermore, the identified factors have different levels of impact across organizational tiers in the shipping chain. This study offers insights that are relevant to both researchers and practitioners in the maritime transportation industry and may help to accelerate the digitalization of the industry.

4 Learning from abroad: An interdisciplinary exploration of knowledge transfer in the transport domain

A growing body of work conceptualizes study visits or study tours as a tool to accelerate policy transfer of, for example, best practices. Participation in study tours appears increasingly common for city management and decision makers involved in transportation policy. This paper extends current research to explore how knowledge gained from study tours transfers to an organizational or inter-organizational level. We aim to generate insights about specific characteristics of study tours that facilitate knowledge transfer. To do so, this study conceptualizes study tours as “trainings”, borrowing concepts and metrics from human resource development (HRD) literature on “learning transfer”. We employ a mixed-method approach. A survey was conducted (n = 109) with US-based city management and officials who participated in study tours on cycling policies. Results demonstrate four influential characteristics of study tours: individual learning, leadership participation, knowledge integration activities, and positive group dynamics. In-depth interviews (n = 15) suggest nuances of these mechanisms. The paper concludes with a reflection of how transportation organizations learn from study tours.

5 Port cybersecurity and threat: A structural model for prevention andpolicy development

Most port operators have increasingly integrated cybertechnology into port activities to increase theircompetitiveness; unfortunately, this digitalization becomes the major vulnerability for the emergingcyberthreat. To help port policymakers develop cybersecurity measures, this study conceptualized anddeveloped three dimensions of port cybersecurity hygiene (i.e. human, infrastructure, and procedurefactors) and investigated the relationships between port cybersecurity hygiene and cyberthreats (i.e.hacktivism, cyber criminality, cyber espionage, cyber terrorism, and cyber war). A questionnaire surveywas used to collect data from all international container port operators and shipping lines with branchesin Thailand, and the proposed relationships were tested by structural equation modeling. The resultsindicated that container ports tended to encounter hacktivism when their human, infrastructure, andprocedure factors were vulnerable. The weakness of the human factor could also lead to cyber terrorism,while the deficiency of the infrastructure factor could lead to cyber criminality. Moreover, containerports were likely to be harmed by cyber espionage if their procedure factor was poorly implemented.Hence, the provision of training and education to all port workers, including top executives, managers,and supervisors, are necessary to ensure a cyberthreat-awareness culture at all organizational levels.Improving cybersecurity equipment could prevent unauthorized access to port business data and keepimportant information secure, while the ISPS Code-based procedures and other preventive measuresshould be strictly implemented by container ports to reduce the risk of cyberthreats.

6 The management of sustainable fashion design strategies: An analysis of the designer’s role

The aim of this research is to advance an understanding of how design in the fashion industry can be successfully managed to contribute to environmental sustainability. Its objectives are to investigate how fashion businesses use environmentally sustainable strategies and how designers contribute to the development of sustainable products. The article reviews the literature of the sustainability of fashion through the circular economy and design management. The research was conducted through semi- structured interviews and a quantitative survey of designers in the UK. A framework based on the level of business engagement in sustainability was used to structure the thematic analysis of the findings. The research demonstrates the relatively low influence of designers on sustainable fashion strategy and their engagement at a tactical organizational level. It concludes by developing a model for the integration of designers into the management of sustainable fashion business.© 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.

7 The role of ostensive and performative routine aspects in dynamic capability deployment at different organizational levels

This study clarifies how dynamic capabilities work in modifying operational capabilities at dif ferent organizational levels. While there is good understanding that routines that make up op erational capabilities possess ostensive and performative aspects, whether the same applies to dynamic capabilities is unclear. In addition, there is only a limited understanding of how dy namic capabilities link to operational capabilities in terms of these two routine aspects, in gen eral, and at different organizational levels, in particular. Our findings suggest that ostensive and performative routine aspects explain the way in which dynamic capabilities work in modifying operational capabilities. They also reveal that the pattern of the ostensive or performative routine aspects in dynamic capability deployment at a selected organizational level correspond with that associated with operational capabilities at the same level.

8 Doing strategy in project-based organizations: Actors and patterns of action

In the project management literature, projects have often been conceptualized as mere implementation sites of organizational strategy. However, such rationalization seldom draws on empirical evidence of strategy as it unfolds at the micro-level and at the interfaces between projects and the organization. Drawing on rich case-study data, this article explores strategy as-it-is-practiced in a large project-based organization. Using a Strategy-as-Practice lens to identify key patterns of strategizing actions, we found that project mind-sets and skill-sets afforded project actors legitimacy to act as strategists on all organizational levels. Project actualities therefore broadly shape strategy in the organization, and play a much larger role in organizational strategizing than typically portrayed in the literature. The findings are used to suggest new perspectives regarding who are strategists and what strategy is in project-based organizations, and outline new directions for a revitalized research agenda on strategy in the project-management field.

نقش دلبستگی به عنوان محرکی در وفاداری به برند صنعتی به صورت گسترده ای در سطح درون سازمانی مورد بررسی قرار گرفته است، در حالی که هیچ مطالعه ای بر روی دلبستگی خریداران صنعتی به به برندها و محصولات صنعتی وجود ندارد. این مطالعه، با پژوهش یک موقعیت تجربی که در آن خریداران تجربه ی اول شخص از استفاده ی محصولات را دارا هستند، وجود دلبستگی برند و دلبستگی محصول در یک محیط صنعتی را نشان می دهد، و تاثیر آن بر وفادارای به برند را بر اساس نتایج حاصل از یک پژوهش متشکل از 317 صاحب-راننده ی ماشین سنگین ، را مورد آزمایش قرار می دهد. یافته ها حاکی از آن است در حالی که دلبستگی به برند به صورت مستقیم و مثبت بر وفاداری به برند تاثیر می گذارد، دلبستگی محصول به صورت غیر مستقیم از طریق آثار واسطه ای دلبستگی به محصول، منجر به وفاداری به برند می شود. به هرحال، متوجه شدیم که محصول به صورت غیر جایگزینی محرک مستقیم وفاداری به برند می باشد. پژوهش حاضر همچنین آزمایش هایی را جهت اندازه گیری رابطه ی میان ساخت های دلبستگی برند و دلبستگی محصول ارائه می دهد. این پژوهش چندین مفهوم مدیریتی و نظری دارد که نشان می دهد که توجه کردن به معانی عاطفی برندهاو محصولات صنعتی امری ضروری است .
