1 Mapping spatial supply chain paths for embodied water flows driven by food demand in China
Identifying critical spatial supply chain paths for embodied water flows driven by food demand can guide the development of more spatially explicit food-related policies for water savings. Previous studies have quantified water uses caused by food demand, but overlook intermediate transfer paths within and among regions. That is, spatial supply chain paths describing step-by-step transfer stages between water uses and final food demand have not been well characterized. Based on the multi-regional input-output model and structural path analysis, this study exhaustively identifies critical spatial supply chain paths for provincial water withdrawals driven by final food demand in China. Results show that the final demand of food products from critical sectors (e.g., agricultural products processing, rice, and swine) and regions (e.g., Xinjiang, Heilongjiang, and Guangdong) drives large amounts of water withdrawals. Critical supply chain paths indicate that agricultural products processing, food manufacturing, and catering should pay special attention to increasing the use efficiency of rice, poultry, cotton, water, and gas products, which can effectively reduce national water withdrawals. The interregional paths further provide evidence for interregional cooperation to save food-related water resources, such as the transfer of capital and technologies from agricultural products processing in Shandong to cotton production in Xinjiang and rice production in Heilongjiang. These critical supply chain paths provide spatially explicit and targeted hotspots for demand-side policies. They can also serve for the evaluation of measures in each stage of the supply chain paths.

2 Determining value of logistics costs in projects: empirical findings based-on executing several cement projects in Indonesia
This research tries to shed light on precise values of logistics costs that so far undisclosed. The values are important for every project planners to evaluate, control and monitoring, and especially imperative for procurement activities. Tender, bidding, and defining the scope of contracts and value can be well organized without time-consuming. This research uses methodology previously developed by Subiyanto (2020a) and discussed only a few particular and directly related to the logistics. The model had been decomposed by utilizing path analysis and the data had been regressed to define variables as the most inflator for logistics. The findings are total logistics costs in Indonesia generally at around 14.6% to total costs of investment. It consists following of insurance cost 0.11%, costs for customs clearance 6.52%, foreign logistics costs 6.62%, domestic manufacture 0.47%, and domestic logistics costs 0.89%. This research is not discussing logistics costs relating to human resources, human travelling, and internal logistics conducted by vendors or contractors as the scope included counted within their procurement contract. These results are important as guidance for project planners, controllers, and other parties to prepare costs more precisely. Negotiating to the banks will be easier as the more precise amount of budgets had been estimated. Due to the important values that have been identified, there will help transparency and governance conducting the projects. Procurement processes involving societies are more objective and better. This is a novelty finding as previous researchers have not decided yet.

3 How does sensory brand experience influence brand equity? Considering the roles of customer satisfaction, customer affective commitment, and employee empathy
Building a favorable sensory brand experience is crucial in services settings to strengthen the competitive position of a brand and its equity. However, little empirical research exists in this area. Additionally, and surprisingly, most of the research on service brand experience neglects the importance of employees. This study investigates the effect of sensory brand experience on brand equity in the banking industry, through customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. It also examines whether employee empathy moderates the impacts of sensory brand experience on customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. Based on data collected through a panel of 1739 customers, the hypothesized structural model is tested using path analysis. Results show that sensory brand experience has a positive indirect impact on brand equity, through customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. Customer satisfaction positively influences customer affective commitment, and employee empathy negatively moderates the relationship between sensory brand experience and customer satisfactio

4 A hybrid personalized scholarly venue recommender system integrating social network analysis and contextual similarity
Rapidly developing academic venues throw a challenge to researchers in identifying the most appropriate ones that are in-line with their scholarly interests and of high relevance. Even a high-quality paper is sometimes rejected due to a mismatch between the area of the paper, and the scope of the journal attempted to. Recommending appropriate academic venues can, therefore, enable researchers to identify and take part in relevant conferences and to publish in impactful journals. Although a researcher may know a few leading high-profile venues for her specific field of interest, a venue recommender system becomes particularly helpful when one explores a new field or when more options are needed. We propose DISCOVER: A Diversified yet Integrated Social network analysis and COntextual similarity-based scholarly VEnue Recommender system. Our work provides an integrated framework incorporating social network analysis, including centrality measure calculation, citation and co-citation analysis, topic modeling based contextual similarity, and key-route identification based main path analysis of a bibliographic citation network. The paper also addresses cold start issues for a new researcher and a new venue along with a considerable reduction in data sparsity, computational costs, diversity, and stability problems. Experiments based on the Microsoft Academic Graph (MAG) dataset show that the proposed DISCOVER outperforms state-of-the-art recommendation techniques using standard metrics of precision@k, nDCG@k, accuracy, MRR, F − measuremacro, diversity, stability, and average venue quality.

5 CNAVER: A Content and Network-based Academic VEnue Recommender system
The phenomenon of rapidly developing academic venues poses a significant challenge for researchers: how to recognize the ones that are not only in accordance with one’s scholarly interests but also of high significance? Often, even a high-quality paper is rejected because of a mismatch between the research area of the paper and the scope of the journal. Recommending appropriate scholarly venues to researchers empowers them to recognize and partake in important academic conferences and assists them in getting published in impactful journals. A venue recommendation system becomes helpful in this scenario, particularly when exploring a new field or when further choices are required. We propose CNAVER: A Content and Network-based Academic VEnue Recommender system. It provides an integrated framework employing a rank-based fusion of paper-paper peer network (PPPN) model and venue-venue peer network (VVPN) model. It only requires the title and abstract of a paper to provide venue recommendations, thus assisting researchers even at the earliest stage of paper writing. It also addresses cold start issues such as the involvement of an inexperienced researcher and a novel venue along with the problems of data sparsity, diversity, and stability. Experiments on the DBLP dataset exhibit that our proposed approach outperforms several state-of-the-art methods in terms of precision, nDCG, MRR, accuracy, F − measuremacro, average venue quality, diversity, and stability.

6 Literature review: Machine learning techniques applied to financial market prediction
The search for models to predict the prices of financial markets is still a highly researched topic, despite major related challenges. The prices of financial assets are non-linear, dynamic, and chaotic; thus, they are financial time series that are difficult to predict. Among the latest techniques, machine learning models are some of the most researched, given their capabilities for recognizing complex patterns in various ap- plications. With the high productivity in the machine learning area applied to the prediction of financial market prices, objective methods are required for a consistent analysis of the most relevant bibliography on the subject. This article proposes the use of bibliographic survey techniques that highlight the most important texts for an area of research. Specifically, these techniques are applied to the literature about machine learning for predicting financial market values, resulting in a bibliographical review of the most important studies about this topic. Fifty-seven texts were reviewed, and a classification was proposed for markets, assets, methods, and variables. Among the main results, of particular note is the greater number of studies that use data from the North American market. The most commonly used models for predic- tion involve support vector machines (SVMs) and neural networks. It was concluded that the research theme is still relevant and that the use of data from developing markets is a research opportunity.

8 Disentangling the impact of cost transparency on cooperation efficiency in exchange partnerships
Drawn upon the marriage of transaction cost economics and social exchange theory, this study aims to examine the effect of cost transparency on cooperation efficiency in a cooperative exchange between a manufacturer and its key suppliers. It also investigates the contingent impact of the contextual factor (e.g., demand uncertainty) and contractual factor (e.g., contract specificity) on the link between cost transparency and efficiency. The results of path analysis of survey data collected from China indicate a curvilinear relationship between transparency and efficiency in the context of Chinese manufacturers. The findings of this study also show that this curvilinear relationship is contingent on demand uncertainty and contract specificity, which exert interacting effects on the transparency-efficiency connection. This study discusses contributions to the frontier of existing theories, implications for practitioners, and future stream of research.

9 Crisis communication within a community: Bonding, coping, and making sense together
Crisis communication has been researched extensively from managerial and functionalist ap proaches, and little empirical research exists exploring the role of a community in helping community members cope with crises. Situated in this major gap, the current investigation adopts a community-centered approach that combines insights from chaos theory, uncertainty reduction theory, and sensemaking theory. This study used a mixed method design to examine the role of a campus community in dealing with a variety of campus crises. The qualitative study gave an in-depth understanding of how a crisis is perceived and the underlying process of how a community helps to make sense of a crisis. The quantitative study tested and further illustrated this process through path analysis. The major contributions of this study to the current crisis communication literature are twofold: (1) a crisis-induced community building model that de monstrates a community’s role in helping community members self-organize, collectively make sense of a crisis, and reproduce community experiences; and (2) instruments to measure a crisis and community functionalities. Theoretical implications of this study on chaos theory, un certainty reduction theory, and sensemaking theory are discussed.

10 Testing the cross-brand and cross-market validity of a consumer-based brand equity (CBBE) model for destination brands
Different studies on consumer/customer-based brand equity (CBBE), have revealed varying pictures of components and divergent relationships. The current study analyzed a large dataset with path analysis to test: 1) the validity of a general CBBE model (familiarity, image, quality, brand value, consumer value, and loyalty); 2) the validity of a customer model (+satisfaction) using data for a single destination brand; 3) the cross-brand validity of the general model for five U.S. destination brands; and 4) the cross-market validity of both models for different segments based on nationality, gender, and past visitation. The results revealed that familiarity and image were the two most prominent components explaining loyalty in both models, although both consumer value and brand value also had some mediating effects on loyalty. The model was variant for different destinations, variant for different nationalities, partially variant for different genders, and invariant for visitors and non-visitors of one destination brand.
