2 Blood supply chain operation considering lifetime and transshipment under uncertain environment
According to the characteristics of blood inventory control problem under the condition of blood shortage, the dynamic decision-making problem of blood supply chain is investigated in this paper. Firstly, based on the recursive equation, the state transition equations of two categories of blood demand under two inventory issue strategies (FIFO and LIFO) are given. The mathematical expressions of key indexes such as blood outdating and blood shortage are obtained. A blood collection decision- making method based on EWA (Estimated Withdrawal & Aging) strategy is proposed. Then, an optimal model of blood transshipment problem is established with the goal of the shortest transshipment time and the maximum freshness of the transported blood. In addition, an allocation planning model with multiple priority requirements and fairness concerns is established to achieve the best fairness and the minimum shortage. Besides, a discrete event system simulation (DESS) framework is designed according to the characteristics of the model. Finally, the effectiveness of the decision-making method and EWA inventory strategy are verified by numerical simulation. The results show that safety stock, target stock level and fluctuation range of demand have significant impacts on the control effect of blood inventory.© 2021 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.

3 Exploring the feasibility of introducing electric freight vehicles in the short food supply chain: A multi-stakeholder approach
The transition towards more sustainable approaches in the Food Supply Chain was concretely visible in the implementation of alternative models, like the Short Food Supply Chain. Some authors raise doubts on the environmental impact of this model, in particular for the externalities caused by the transport system, suggesting the adoption of Electric Freight vehicles. By adopting a multi-stakeholder approach, the objective of this study is to explore both the barriers and potentialities involved in the adoption of Electric Freight vehicles in the Short Food Supply Chain, and the existence of a shared strategy at the system level able to foster their adoption. Results suggest that, for entrepreneurs, Electric Freight vehicles appear as a viable option, although more efforts are still needed at a governmental level, through the promotion of public measures in the form of support for purchasing costs or rental rate and offering technical expertise services. In terms of infrastructures, as is clear from interviews, improving the charging infrastructure efficiency to ensure EFVs shift optimization and increasing the number of charging points are today a priority. On the whole, more collaborative methods should be inaugurated, contributing to a shared vision of urban mobility which takes into account all supply chain actors (charging point operators, automotive industry, rental car services, farmers, and local authorities) to ensure the system works in a more efficient way.

4 Digitalization of the healthcare supply chain: A roadmap to generate benefits and effectively support healthcare delivery
The healthcare supply chain lags far behind supply chains in other industries in terms of performance and the deployment of best practices. Managers could bridge this gap and improve the performance of the healthcare supply chain by implementing digitalization initiatives. However, the erratic, disconnected digitalization of practices already deployed in the healthcare sector makes it difficult to maximize the potential of these initiatives. In order to generate the greatest benefits from digitalization while improving healthcare delivery, this article sets out a roadmap for implementing technologies. Unlike previous studies that focused on the entire supply chain or had been limited to patient flow, this study adopts the perspective of the hospital as a central launching point for digitalization initiatives. The roadmap, which involves both internal and external digitalization trajectories, is based on a research methodology that combines observations with an umbrella review of literature. This methodology enables us to capture the research challenges associated with the healthcare supply chain and show how digitalization initiatives can address them. The digitalization proposals put forward are structured in terms of priority and centered on hospitals. These proposals can help managers make improvements to the supply chain and also clinical flows.

5 Identifying the critical transmission sectors with energy-water nexus pressures in Chinas supply chain networks
Energy and water resources are drawing increasing attention in China as indispensable elements of economic development and social stability. Energy and water are interconnected in economic systems. Although the nexus between them has been widely studied, few insights can be acquired by the intermediate transmission pressures across supply chains. Combing betweenness-based method and multi-regional input-output (MRIO) analysis, we, in this study, identified critical transmission sectors and main driving factors resulting from the usage structure. In details, we found that Metallurgy (S14) in Shandong, Henan, Jiangxi, Anhui, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Hunan, and Jiangsu, Electricity and hot water production and supply (S22) in Beijing and Guizhou, and Nonmetal production (S13) in Henan are the most critical transmission sectors bearing energy-water nexus pressures, ranking at the top 100 in China’s supply chain networks. Roughly, the usage structure was mainly dominated by fixed capital formation, urban household consumption and trade export, and therefore should be given priority to mitigate environ- mental pressures. Our study provides a novel perspective of sector-specific and province-typical policy recommendations for mitigating energy-water nexus pressures in China’s supply chain networks.

6 Accounting conservatism and corporate social responsibility
We examine the association between accounting conservatism, expressed in the form of asymmetric timeliness of recognition of economic gains and losses, and corporate social responsibility (CSR). We provide evidence that, under unfavorable macroeconomic conditions and financial constraints, as well as increased levels of outside pressure from debtholders and equity holders, catering for capital providers through conservative reporting becomes a managerial priority over engagement in CSR. Our results overall indicate that, for our whole sample period (starting in the early 2000s), higher levels of conservatism are negatively associated with a CSR orientation shown by firms; however, our analysis also indicates a significant reversing trend regarding the effect of conservatism on CSR, coinciding with the post-financial-crisis period. The findings are robust to a number of specifications and tests, including the use of an instrumental variable approach explicitly addressing endogeneity biases related to reverse causality concerns. Our study suggests that, under monitoring pressure from financial stakeholders, firms prioritize commitment to accounting conservatism over the needs of non-financial stakeholders and other interest groups.

7 An integrated queuing-stochastic optimization hybrid Genetic Algorithm for a location-inventory supply chain network
We consider a location-inventory optimization model for supply chain (SC) configuration. It includes a supplier, multiple distribution centers (DCs), and multiple retailers. Customer demand and replenishment lead time are considered to be stochastic. Two classes of customer orders, priority and ordinary, are assumed based on their demand. The goal is to find the optimal locations for DCs and their inventory policy simultaneously. For this purpose, a two-phase approach based on queuing theory and stochastic optimization was developed. In the first phase, the stock level of DCs is modeled as a Markov chain process and is analyzed, while in the second phase, a mathematical program is used to determine the optimal number and locations of DCs, the assignment of retailers to DCs, and the order quantity and safety stock level at DCs. As solving this problem is NP-hard, a hybrid Genetic Algorithm (GA) was developed to make the problem computationally tractable.

8 Environmental costs assessment for improved environmental-economic account for Indonesia
The overall purpose of this study is to assess priorities for new environmental accounts in Indonesia. We use environmental costs related to air pollution and resource extraction in Indonesia as a measure for priority. This study uses the damage costs approach to estimate the environmental degradation costs value and the Net Present Value (NPV) approach to obtain the environmental cost of natural resources depletion of several natural resources that are most important for the Indonesian economy. Our estimate of the total environmental costs amounts to around 13% of GDP in 2010. Environmental costs are mostly due to depletion of energy and mineral resources, followed by environmental degradation cost from air pollution, and the use of forestry resources and related depletion of ecosystems. The Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) has already published damage costs data related to resource depletion, which we find is a priority. However, the BPS should consider completing its data with additional information on the depletion costs of ecosystem services related to forestry. Moreover, the BPS could expand Indonesia’s economic-environmental accounts by including environmental degradation costs due to air pollution. We found that from a substance perspective, the priorities are SOx, NOx, CO2, CH4, and particulate matter. At the same time, from a sector perspective, the priorities are electricity, manufacture of basic iron and steel and of ferro-alloys and first products thereof, mining of coal and lignite, and extraction of peat, because if the national accounts included the external costs of air pollution and the depletion of natural resources, these sectors would create a negative value-added.

9 Economic impact of the bioeconomy in Spain: Multiplier effects with a bio social accounting matrix
The bioeconomy emerges as a new economic model to help address issues related to environmental care and focus on a more sustainable economy. In the last decade, it has become a global priority and many countries have published their own strategies that clearly refer to the development of the bioeconomy. The symmetric social accounting matrix with basic prices was constructed, including the breakdown of biobased accounts belonging to the bioeconomy to determine which sectors of the bioeconomy are most strategic to promote sustainable economic growth. This constructed matrix was used to analyse the economic influence of the bioeconomy products and their impact on job creation. The analysis was carried out using the diffusion and absorption multipliers, which enabled the interpretation of the linkages between the different economic agents. The results were analysed in depth and the multipliers decomposed into their different effects, own, open and circular, and complemented with the calculation of the employment multiplier to evaluate the most important sectors for employment generation. The analysis was applied to the case of Spain. The results of this research enabled the identification of the strategic sectors where economic policies can be applied since these are the ones that increase economic growth and activities within the bioeconomy and create jobs. The conclusions indicated that the Spanish bioeconomy is still focused on traditional sectors and has not yet developed its potential in more innovative biobased products, demonstrating that the bioeconomy in Spain still has a long way to go.

10 Predictors of nurses attitudes and knowledge towards pain management in Italy: A cross-sectional study in the hospital settings
Introduction: Pain is multidimensional, and as such it is the chief reason patients require urgent health care services. If inadequately assessed and untreated, pain may negatively impact on the quality of life of the patient. Pain management is an essential part of Nursing. The aim to this study is to examine the level of knowledge and attitudes with regard to pain among Italian nurses who work in clinical settings. Methods: The Ferrell and McCaffery’s Knowledge and Attitudes Survey Regarding Pain was distributed to 266 nurses employed in one specialized hospital in Rome, Italy. The staff in the survey work in three different set- tings: the intensive care unit, the sub-intensive care unit, and an ordinary ward. Descriptive statistics were employed and a logistic regression model was performed to evaluate the factors that may influence the attitude and knowledge of care providers. Results: 49.6% of the sample correctly answered items about attitudes, 47.4% about knowledge, and 36.5% about assessment. The results show that the odds ratio of developing positive attitudes towards pain was 1.76 times higher in nurses employed in the sub-intensive care unit than in other settings. There are no statistically sig- nificant associations of knowledge between setting, sex or education. Conclusions: Our survey revealed a limited overall level of knowledge and attitudes with regards to pain man- agement among nurses. Implementing specific training for health professionals, starting with academic educa- tion, is therefore a priority. Further research is needed on a larger sample of Italian nurses. Key practice points services. What do we already know about this subject? • Pain is universal chief reason patients require urgent health care • Pain management is an essential part of Nursing. What does our study add to the already existing information • Our survey revealed and confirmed a limited overall level of knowledge and attitudes with regards to pain management among Italian nurses. • There are no statistically significant associations of knowledge • It is plausible that occur implementing specific training for nurses, between setting, sex or education. starting with academic education, and master degree.
