Quantum–Classical Image Processing for Scene Classification
پردازش تصویر کوانتومی کلاسیک برای طبقه بندی صحنه-2022 Deep-learning-based convolutional neural network (CNN) models are prominent in processing and analyzing
sensor signal data, such as images for classification. Data augmentation is a powerful technique used in training
such models to avoid overfitting and to improve accuracy. This letter proposes a data augmentation technique using
a quantum circuit for image data. The proposed quantum circuit is suitable to implement on real hardware provided by
the IBM Quantum Experience platform. In comparison with other classical data augmentation techniques, the proposed
technique increased the prediction accuracy of the CNN from 68.65 to 76.03%. However, CNN models for image
classification use many parameters during the training process. Quantum computers can efficiently handle large-scale
data inputs using qubits for information processing. Hence, we also propose a hybrid quantum–classical convolutional
neural network model (HQCNN) for scene classification. The proposed model uses a combination of CNN layers and
quantum layers to process images. The proposed HQCNN reduces parameters used for training due to the use of quantum
layers in the model. Our experimental results show that the proposed HQCNN can classify the scenes in the UC Merced
land-use dataset with an accuracy of 85.28% compared to the other models.

Quantum Algorithm for Fidelity Estimation
الگوریتم کوانتومی برای برآورد وفاداری-2022 For two unknown mixed quantum states ρ and σ in
an N-dimensional Hilbert space, computing their fidelity F (ρ, σ)
is a basic problem with many important applications in quantum
computing and quantum information, for example verification
and characterization of the outputs of a quantum computer,
and design and analysis of quantum algorithms. In this paper,
we propose a quantum algorithm that solves this problem in
poly(log(N ), r, 1/ε) time, where r is the lower rank of ρ and
σ, and ε is the desired precision, provided that the purifications
of ρ and σ are prepared by quantum oracles. This algorithm
exhibits an exponential speedup over the best known algorithm
(based on quantum state tomography) which has time complexity
polynomial in N. keywords: Quantum computing | quantum algorithms | quantum fidelity | quantum states. |

Quantum and Classical Hybrid Generations for Classical Correlations
نسلهای ترکیبی کوانتومی و کلاسیک برای همبستگیهای کلاسیک-2022 We consider two-stage hybrid protocols that com-
bine quantum resources and classical resources to generate classi-
cal correlations shared by two separated players. Our motivation
is twofold. First,
in the near future, the scale of quantum
information processing is quite limited, and when quantum
resource available is not sufficient for certain tasks, a possible
way to strengthen the capability of quantum schemes is intro-
ducing extra classical resources. We analyze the mathematical
structures of these hybrid protocols, and characterize the relation
between the amount of quantum resources and classical resources
needed. Second, a fundamental open problem in communication
complexity theory is to describe the advantage of sharing prior
quantum entanglement over sharing prior randomness, which
is still widely open. It turns out that our quantum and classical
hybrid protocols provide new insight into this important problem. keywords: Near-term quantum computing | hybrid protocols | correlation generation | quantum advantage. |

Quantum Annealing Methods and Experimental Evaluation to the Phase-Unwrapping Problem in Synthetic Aperture Radar Imaging
روشهای آنیل کوانتومی و ارزیابی تجربی مسئله بازکردن فاز در تصویربرداری رادار دیافراگم مصنوعی-2022 The focus of this work is to explore the use of quantum annealing solvers for the problem of
phase unwrapping of synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. Although solutions to this problem exist based
on network programming, these techniques do not scale well to larger sized images. Our approach involves
formulating the problem as a quadratic unconstrained binary optimization (QUBO) problem, which can
be solved on a quantum annealer. Given that present embodiments of quantum annealers remain limited
in the number of qubits they possess, we decompose the problem into a set of subproblems that can be
solved individually. These individual solutions are close to optimal up to an integer constant, with one
constant per subimage. In a second phase, these integer constants are determined as a solution to yet another
QUBO problem. This basic idea is extended to several passes, where each pass results in an image which is
subsequently decomposed to yet another set of subproblems until the resulting image can be accommodated
by the annealer at hand. Additionally, we explore improvements to the method by decomposing the original
image into overlapping subimages and ignoring the results on the overlapped (marginal) pixels. We test our
approach with a variety of software-based QUBO solvers and on a variety of images, both synthetic and real.
Additionally, we experiment using D-wave systems’ quantum annealer, the D-wave 2000Q_6 and developed
an embedding method which, for our problem, yielded improved results. Our method resulted in high quality
solutions, comparable to state-of-the-art phase-unwrapping solvers.

Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm Based Maximum Likelihood Detection
الگوریتم بهینه سازی تقریبی کوانتومی مبتنی بر تشخیص حداکثر احتمال-2022 Recent advances in quantum technologies pave the
way for noisy intermediate-scale quantum (NISQ) devices, where
the quantum approximation optimization algorithm (QAOA)
constitutes a promising candidate for demonstrating tangible
quantum advantages based on NISQ devices. In this paper,
we consider the maximum likelihood (ML) detection problem of
binary symbols transmitted over a multiple-input and multipleoutput (MIMO) channel, where finding the optimal solution is
exponentially hard using classical computers. Here, we apply the
QAOA for the ML detection by encoding the problem of interest
into a level-p QAOA circuit having 2p variational parameters,
which can be optimized by classical optimizers. This level-p
QAOA circuit is constructed by applying the prepared Hamiltonian to our problem and the initial Hamiltonian alternately
in p consecutive rounds. More explicitly, we first encode the
optimal solution of the ML detection problem into the ground
state of a problem Hamiltonian. Using the quantum adiabatic
evolution technique, we provide both analytical and numerical
results for characterizing the evolution of the eigenvalues of
the quantum system used for ML detection. Then, for level-
1 QAOA circuits, we derive the analytical expressions of the
expectation values of the QAOA and discuss the complexity
of the QAOA based ML detector. Explicitly, we evaluate the
computational complexity of the classical optimizer used and the
storage requirement of simulating the QAOA. Finally, we evaluate
the bit error rate (BER) of the QAOA based ML detector and
compare it both to the classical ML detector and to the classical
minimum mean squared error (MMSE) detector, demonstrating
that the QAOA based ML detector is capable of approaching the
performance of the classical ML detector.

Quantum Blockchain Based on Dimensional Lifting Generalized Gram-Schmidt Procedure
بلاک چین کوانتومی بر اساس روش تعمیم یافته گرام اشمیت لیفت بعدی-2022 The advancement of quantum computers undermines the security of classical blockchain,
necessitating either a post-quantum upgrade of the existing architecture or creation of an inherently quantum
blockchain. Here we propose a practically realizable model of a fully quantum blockchain based on a
generalized Gram-Schmidt procedure utilizing dimensional lifting. In this model, information of transactions
stored in a multi-qubit state are subsequently encoded using the generalized Gram-Schmidt process. The
chain is generated as a result of the reliance of orthogonalized state on the sequence of states preceding it.
Various forking scenarios and their countermeasures are considered for the proposed model. It is shown to
be secure even against quantum computing attacks using the no-cloning theorem and non-democratic nature
of Generalized Gram-Schmidt orthogonalization. Finally, we outline a framework for a quantum token built
on the same architecture as our blockchain.

Quantum Differentially Private Sparse Regression Learning
یادگیری رگرسیون پراکنده خصوصی کوانتومی دیفرانسیل-2022 The eligibility of various advanced quantum algorithms will be questioned if they can not guarantee privacy. To fill this knowledge gap, here we devise an efficient quantum differentially private (QDP) Lasso estimator to solve sparse regression tasks. Concretely, given N d -dimensional data points with N≪d , we first prove that the optimal classical and quantum non-private Lasso requires Ω(N+d) and Ω(N−−√+d−−√) runtime, respectively. We next prove that the runtime cost of QDP Lasso is dimension independent , i.e., O(N5/2) , which implies that the QDP Lasso can be faster than both the optimal classical and quantum non-private Lasso. Last, we exhibit that the QDP Lasso attains a near-optimal utility bound O~(N−2/3) with privacy guarantees and discuss the chance to realize it on near-term quantum chips with advantages.
