2 A supply chain model with service level constraints and strategies under uncertainty
In the current socio-economic situation, the daily demand for essential goods in the business sector is always changing owing to various unavoidable reasons. As a result, choosing the right method for profitable business has become quite tricky. This study introduces different business strategies based on constant and fuzzy demands. There are two types of constraints considered in this model to avoid the backorder cost. However, combining the service-level constraints with the constant and fuzzy demand, this study compares the total costs, and finally, the best strategy is established. Moreover, investing a small amount, this model improves the quality of the products and reduces the vendor’s setup cost. Depending on the number of transported products, this model follows the transportation discount policy for hassle-free delivery of the products with a minimum delivery rate. The Kuhn-Tucker optimization technique is employed, and global optimality is verified numerically, analytically using the Hessian matrix. This model’s robustness is discussed through a comparative study, numerical examples, sensitivity analysis, graphical representation, and managerial insights. Finally, some concluding remarks along with future extensions are discussed.

3 Uncovering research streams on agri-food supply chain management: A bibliometric study
This study carried out a bibliometric analysis to critically review the evolution of the agri-food supply chain (AFSC) research field over the period of 2008–2019. A set of 1236 articles was analyzed from the Web of Science database. Besides using different analytical scientometric tools (topic mapping, co-citation, co-authorship and overlay visualization networks), this study identified frequently-used keywords, new and hot research topics and frequently-studied supply chain management (SCM) practices. Frequently used keywords are food supply chain, food waste, sustainability, food safety, SCM, food industry, and food security. New research themes include contract, blockchain, internet of things, resilience, and short food supply chain, a topic that demands further research especially due to the international COVID-19 pandemic and the need of farmers to be closer to the consumers. Hot research topics, that is, subjects that have been studied in highly cited papers were also identified include life cycle assessment, environmental impact, packaging, water use, food waste prevention, food waste generation, blockchain and carbon footprint. Among SCM practices, this study observed that risk and sustainable SCM are frequently used keywords. Procurement and reverse logistics were observed in fewer studies. SCM, food waste, food quality, GHG emissions and risk management are sustainable SCM practices frequently observed.

4 Factors influencing blockchain adoption in supply chain management practices: A study based on the oil industry
Planning to adopt the Blockchain is very active in many industries, especially in supply chains. Researchers believe that the Radio-frequency identification (RFIDs), yesterday’s Blockchain, is now obsolete. The strongest reason that the Blockchain is the tool of this era is its unique features; real-time information sharing, cyber-security, transparency, reliability, traceability, and visibility, all of which boost the supply-chain performance. Despite the extensive literature on Blockchain, in recent years, no clear framework has defined whether a supply chain should implement Blockchain or not. This study attempts to fill this gap by proposing a framework for complex supply chain networks. In doing so, first, we identified the supply-chain practices of the oil industry in Pakistan, then we empirically analyzed the impact of these practices on operational performance. The results show that the supply chain management (SCM) practices positively impact operational performance. On the other hand, with the help of literature, we identified different Blockchain features and their influence on different supply chain practices. This study guides managers and decision-makers to evaluate their current supply-chain practices and understand the relationship between supply-chain practices and Blockchain features, and how different Blockchain features can help improving supply-chain practices and ultimately improving operational performance.

5 Review of supply chain management within project management
Supply chain management (SCM) adoption in a project-based environment brings substantial benefits but re- quires careful planning and execution. The current research examines a number of publications that are relevant to both SCM and project management in project management journals. First, we identify the key antecedents of successful SCM implementation in a project-based environment. Then we category these factors into four main areas, namely, IT integration, organizational coordination, risk management, and supply chain resilience and complexity. Third, we explore inter-relationships among these factors through a comprehensive literature re- view. A broad and enhanced understanding of the conceptual integration of SCM with project management is provided by exploring application areas outside the more common integration domain of the construction in- dustry. This research presents and interprets this integration using a system gram that visually illustrates a SCM strategy adoption pathway and depicts the complex procedures in an understandable manner.

7 A multi-functional tri-objective mathematical model for the pharmaceutical supply chain considering congestion of drugs in factories
Supply Chain Management (SCM), by way of one of the critical issues in the managerial aspect, plays a significant role in tackling humanitarian problems and difficulties. Due to some limitations (e.g., production capacity and storage capacity) and desires (e.g., cost reduction and rising revenues), supply chain managers always seek the best response to the amount and type of communication between different SCM levels. In the upcoming research, a Pharmaceutical Supply Chain (PSC) with three objective functions is developed, aiming to simultaneously minimize total costs, unfulfilled demands, and reduce the waiting time at the factory entrance. In the forth- coming research, the subject literature and research in the PSC modeling and problem-solving are discussed. A nonlinear programming model is then proposed in line with the previous research to solve the existing short- comings. Also, multi-objective decision-making methods are used to match the conflicting objectives of the model simultaneously. Then, GAMS commercial software is used to solve the problem of different sizes. Finally, the wide sensitivity analysis and evaluation of the results are discussed, and future development suggestions are presented.

8 Costs of resilience and disruptions in supply chain network design models: A review and future research directions
Supply chain network design (SCND) is a key strategic decision in supply chain management (SCM). One particular area of SCND is concerned with disruption risk modelling. This paper presents a systematic literature review of quantitative models of SCND under disruption risks in industrial SCM and logistics. More specifically, our analysis is focused on different costs induced by the planning of proactive investments in robustness and through parametrical/structural adaptation at the recovery stage. This review can be of value for researchers and decision-makers alike for several reasons. First, we categorise the existing knowledge based on decision-making problems, which can be instructive for a convenient association of a particular SCND problem to a modelling domain according to network-wise, supply-side and demand-side perspectives. Second, our analysis focuses on the costs specifically induced by disruption risks and resilience investments. Third, we offer a dedicated section related to disruption probability formulation methods and their impact on resilience costs. Fourth, the integration of different SCM dimensions (i.e., social impact, environmental impact, responsiveness, and risk- aversion) and the associated multi-objective modelling settings are discussed along with disruption risks in SCND models. Finally, we summarize our findings as insights from a managerial perspective. Drawbacks and missing aspects in the related literature are highlighted, and we lay out several research directions and open questions for future research.

9 On the use of simulation as a Big Data semantic validator for supply chain management
Simulation stands out as an appropriate method for the Supply Chain Management (SCM) field. Nevertheless, to produce accurate simulations of Supply Chains (SCs), several business processes must be considered. Thus, when using real data in these simulation models, Big Data concepts and technologies become necessary, as the involved data sources generate data at increasing volume, velocity and variety, in what is known as a Big Data context. While developing such solution, several data issues were found, with simulation proving to be more efficient than traditional data profiling techniques in identifying them. Thus, this paper proposes the use of simulation as a semantic validator of the data, proposed a classification for such issues and quantified their impact in the volume of data used in the final achieved solution. This paper concluded that, while SC simulations using Big Data concepts and technologies are within the grasp of organizations, their data models still require considerable improvements, in order to produce perfect mimics of their SCs. In fact, it was also found that simulation can help in identifying and bypassing some of these issues.

10 Overcoming blind spots in global sourcing research: Exploiting the cross-sections between supply chain management and international business
This article reviews existing work on global sourcing and suggests a number of new theoretical directions for research in this area. We discuss how international business (IB) and supply chain management (SCM) research can benefit from increased cross-fertilization of themes and per- spectives. We begin by introducing a taxonomy of global sourcing research, building on relevant insights from SCM research. We then generate recommendations for potential future research on global sourcing, particularly highlighting antecedents, processes, performance and contextual variables. SCM research employs the entire supply chain as the primary unit of analysis (rather than the individual firm), while IB research focuses primarily on international aspects, adapting to institutional contexts in a globalized world. Building on this complementarity, several specific empirical directions are proposed for future research directions.
