1 Intelligent authentication of 5G healthcare devices: A survey
احراز هویت هوشمند دستگاه های مراقبت بهداشتی 5G: یک مرور-2022
The dynamic nature of wireless links and the mobility of devices connected to the Internet of Things (IoT) over fifth-generation (5G) networks (IoT-5G), on the one hand, empowers pervasive healthcare applications. On the other hand, it allows eavesdroppers and other illegitimate actors to access secret information. Due to the poor time efficiency and high computational complexity of conventional cryptographic methods and the heterogeneous technologies used, it is easy to compromise the authentication of lightweight wearable and healthcare devices. Therefore, intelligent authentication, which relies on artificial intelligence (AI), and sufficient network resources are extremely important for securing healthcare devices connected to IoT- 5G. This survey considers intelligent authentication and includes a comprehensive overview of intelligent authentication mechanisms for securing IoT-5G devices deployed in the healthcare domain. First, it presents a detailed, thoughtful, and state-of-the-art review of IoT-5G, healthcare technologies, tools, applications, research trends, challenges, opportunities, and solutions. We selected 20 technical articles from those surveyed based on their strong overlaps with IoT, 5G, healthcare, device authentication, and AI. Second, IoT-5G device authentication, radiofrequency fingerprinting, and mutual authentication are reviewed, characterized, clustered, and classified. Third, the review envisions that AI can be used to integrate the attributes of the physical layer and 5G networks to empower intelligent healthcare devices. Moreover, methods for developing intelligent authentication models using AI are presented. Finally, the future outlook and recommendations are introduced for IoT-5G healthcare applications, and recommendations for further research are presented as well. The remarkable contributions and relevance of this survey may assist the research community in understanding the research gaps and the research opportunities relating to the intelligent authentication of IoT-5G healthcare devices.

2 Decentralization Using Quantum Blockchain: A Theoretical Analysis
تمرکززدایی با استفاده از بلاک چین کوانتومی: یک تحلیل نظری-2022
Blockchain technology has been prominent recently due to its applications in cryptocurrency. Numerous decentralized blockchain applications have been possible due to blockchains’ nature of distributed, secured, and peer-to-peer storage. One of its technical pillars is using public-key cryptography and hash functions, which promise a secure, pseudoanonymous, and distributed storage with nonrepudiation. This security is believed to be difficult to break with classical computational powers. However, recent advances in quantum computing have raised the possibility of breaking these algorithms with quantum computers, thus, threatening the blockchains’ security. Quantum-resistant blockchains are being proposed as alternatives to resolve this issue. Some propose to replace traditional cryptography with postquantum cryptography—others base their approaches on quantum computer networks or quantum internets. Nonetheless, a new security infrastructure (e.g., access control/authentication) must be established before any of these could happen. This article provides a theoretical analysis of the quantum blockchain technologies that could be used for decentralized identity authentication. We put together a conceptual design for a quantum blockchain identity framework and give a review of the technical evidence. We investigate its essential components and feasibility, effectiveness, and limitations. Even though it currently has various limitations and challenges, we believe a decentralized perspective of quantum applications is noteworthy and likely.

3 IoT architecture for continuous long term monitoring: Parkinson’s Disease case study
معماری اینترنت اشیا برای نظارت طولانی مدت مداوم: مطالعه موردی بیماری پارکینسون-2022
In recent years, technological advancements and the strengthening of the Internet of Things concepts have led to significant improvements in the technology infrastructures for remote monitoring. This includes telemedicine which is the ensemble of technologies and tools involved in medical services, from consultations, to diagnosis, prescriptions, treatment and patient monitoring, all done remotely via an Internet connection.
Developing a telemedicine framework capable of monitoring patients over a continuous long-term monitoring window may encounter various issues related to the battery life of the device or the accuracy of the retrieved data. Moreover, it is crucial to develop an IoT architecture that is adaptable to various scenarios and the ongoing changes of the application scenario under analysis.
In this work, we present an IoT architecture for continuous long-term monitoring of patients. Furthermore, as a real scenario case study, we adapt our IoT architecture for Parkinson’s Disease management, building up the PDRMA (Parkinson’s disease remote monitoring architecture). Performance analysis for optimal operation with respect to temperature and daily battery life is conducted. Finally, a multi-parameter app for the continuous monitoring of Parkinson’s patients is presented.

4 Development of an Undergraduate Quantum Engineering Degree
توسعه یک مدرک کارشناسی مهندسی کوانتوم-2022
Quantum computing, communications, sensing, and simulations are radically transformative technologies, with great potential to impact industries and economies. Worldwide, national governments, industries, and universities are moving to create a new class of workforce—the Quantum Engineers. Demand for such engineers is predicted to be in the tens of thousands within a five-year timescale, far exceeding the rate at which the world’s universities can produce Ph.D. graduates in the discipline. How best to train this next generation of engineers is currently a matter of debate. Quantum mechanics—long a pillar of traditional physics undergraduate degrees—must now be merged with traditional engineering offerings. This article discusses the history, development, and the first year of operation of the world’s first undergraduate degree in quantum engineering to be grown out of an engineering curriculum. The main purpose of this article is to inform the wider discussion, now being held by many institutions worldwide, on how best to formally educate the Quantum Engineer.

5 Is the Internet of Things a helpful employee? An exploratory study of discourses of Canadian farmers
آیا اینترنت اشیا یک کارمند مفید است؟ بررسی اکتشافی گفتمان های کشاورزان کانادایی-2022
The increasing global population and the growing demand for high-quality products have called for the modernization of agriculture. “Internet of Things” is one of the technologies that is pre- dicted to offer many solutions. We conducted a discourse analysis of 19 interviews with farmers in Ontario, Canada, asking them to describe their experience of working with IoT and related technologies. One main discourse with two opposing tendencies was identified: farmers recognize their relationship with IoT and related technology and view technology as a kind of “employee”, but some tend to emphasize (1) an optimistic view which is discourse of technology is a “Helpful Employee”; while others tend to emphasize (2) a pessimistic view which is a discourse of tech- nology is an “Untrustworthy Employee”. We examine these tendencies in the light of the literature on organizational behavior and identify potential outcomes of these beliefs. The results suggest that a farmer’s style of approaching technology can be assessed on a similar scale as managers’ view of their employees and provide a framework for further research.

6 Moving towards intelligent telemedicine: Computer vision measurement of human movement
حرکت به سمت پزشکی از راه دور هوشمند: اندازه گیری بینایی کامپیوتری حرکت انسان-2022
Background: Telemedicine video consultations are rapidly increasing globally, accelerated by the COVID- 19 pandemic. This presents opportunities to use computer vision technologies to augment clinician visual judgement because video cameras are so ubiquitous in personal devices and new techniques, such as DeepLabCut (DLC) can precisely measure human movement from smartphone videos. However, the accuracy of DLC to track human movements in videos obtained from laptop cameras, which have a much lower FPS, has never been investigated; this is a critical gap because patients use laptops for most telemedicine consultations. Objectives: To determine the validity and reliability of DLC applied to laptop videos to measure finger tapping, a validated test of human movement. Method: Sixteen adults completed finger-tapping tests at 0.5 Hz, 1 Hz, 2 Hz, 3 Hz and at maximal speed. Hand movements were recorded simultaneously by a laptop camera at 30 frames per second (FPS) and by Optotrak, a 3D motion analysis system at 250 FPS. Eight DLC neural network architectures (ResNet50, ResNet101, ResNet152, MobileNetV1, MobileNetV2, EfficientNetB0, EfficientNetB3, EfficientNetB6) were applied to the laptop video and extracted movement features were compared to the ground truth Optotrak motion tracking. Results: Over 96% (529/552) of DLC measures were within +∕−0.5 Hz of the Optotrak measures. At tapping frequencies >4 Hz, there was progressive decline in accuracy, attributed to motion blur associated with the laptop camera’s low FPS. Computer vision methods hold potential for moving us towards intelligent telemedicine by providing human movement analysis during consultations. However, further developments are required to accurately measure the fastest movements.

7 Enabling Pulse-Level Programming, Compilation, and Execution in XACC
فعال کردن برنامه نویسی، کامپایل و اجرا در سطح پالس در XACC-2022
Noisy gate-model quantum processing units (QPUs) are currently available from vendors over the cloud, and digital quantum programming approaches exist to run low-depth circuits on physical hardware. These digital representations are ultimately lowered to pulse-level instructions by vendor quantum control systems to affect unitary evolution representative of the submitted digital circuit. Vendors are beginning to open this pulse-level control system to the public via specified interfaces. Robust programming methodologies, software frameworks, and backend simulation technologies for this analog model of quantum computation will prove critical to advancing pulse-level control research and development. Prototypical use cases for this include error mitigation, optimal pulse control, and physics-inspired pulse construction. Here we present an extension to the XACC quantum-classical software framework that enables pulse-level programming for superconducting, gate-model quantum computers, and a novel, general, and extensible pulse-level simulation backend for XACC that scales on classical compute clusters via MPI. Our work enables custom backend Hamiltonian definitions and gate-level compilation to available pulses with a focus on performance and scalability. We end with a demonstration of this capability, and show how to use XACC for pertinent pulse-level programming tasks.

8 Evolution of Quantum Computing: Theoretical and Innovation Management Implications for Emerging Quantum Industry
تکامل محاسبات کوانتومی: مفاهیم مدیریت نظری و نوآوری برای صنعت کوانتومی در حال ظهور-2022
Quantum computing is a vital research field in science and technology. One of the fundamental questions hardly known is how quantum computing research is developing to support scientific advances and the evolution of path-breaking technologies for economic, industrial, and social change. This study confronts the question here by applying methods of computational scientometrics for publication analyses to explain the structure and evolution of quantum computing research and technologies over a 30-year period. Results reveal that the evolution of quantum computing from 1990 to 2020 has a considerable average increase of connectivity in the network (growth of degree centrality measure), a moderate increase of the average influence of nodes on the flow between nodes (little growth of betweenness centrality measure), and a little reduction of the easiest access of each node to all other nodes (closeness centrality measure). This evolutionary dynamics is due to the increase in size and complexity of the network in quantum computing research over time. This study also suggests that the network of quantum computing has a transition from hardware to software research that supports accelerated evolution of technological pathways in quantum image processing, quantum machine learning, and quantum sensors. Theoretical implications of this study show the morphological evolution of the network in quantum computing from a symmetric to an asymmetric shape driven by new inter-related research fields and emerging technological trajectories. Findings here suggest best practices of innovation management based on R&D investments in new technological directions of quantum computing having a high potential for growth and impact in science and markets.

9 Barriers to computer vision applications in pig production facilities
موانع برنامه های بینایی کامپیوتری در تاسیسات تولید خوک-2022
Surveillance and analysis of behavior can be used to detect and characterize health disruption and welfare status in animals. The accurate identification of changes in behavior is a time-consuming task for caretakers in large, commercial pig production systems and requires strong observational skills and a working knowledge of animal husbandry and livestock systems operations. In recent years, many studies have explored the use of various technologies and sensors to assist animal caretakers in monitoring animal activity and behavior. Of these technologies, computer vision offers the most consistent promise as an effective aid in animal care, and yet, a systematic review of the state of application of this technology indicates that there are many significant barriers to its widespread adoption and successful utilization in commercial production system settings. One of the most important of these barriers is the recognition of the sources of errors from objective behavior labeling that are not measurable by current algorithm performance evaluations. Additionally, there is a significant disconnect between the remarkable advances in computer vision research interests and the integration of advances and practical needs being instituted by scientific experts working in commercial animal production partnerships. This lack of synergy between experts in the computer vision and animal health and production sectors means that existing and emerging datasets tend to have a very particular focus that cannot be easily pivoted or extended for use in other contexts, resulting in a generality versus particularity conundrum. This goal of this paper is to help catalogue and consider the major obstacles and impediments to the effective use of computer vision associated technologies in the swine industry by offering a systematic analysis of computer vision applications specific to commercial pig management by reviewing and summarizing the following: (i) the purpose and associated challenges of computer vision applications in pig behavior analysis; (ii) the use of computer vision algorithms and datasets for pig husbandry and management tasks; (iii) the process of dataset construction for computer vision algorithm development. In this appraisal, we outline common difficulties and challenges associated with each of these themes and suggest possible solutions. Finally, we highlight the opportunities for future research in computer vision applications that can build upon existing knowledge of pig management by extending our capability to interpret pig behaviors and thereby overcome the current barriers to applying computer vision technologies to pig production systems. In conclusion, we believe productive collaboration between animal-based scientists and computer-based scientists may accelerate animal behavior studies and lead the computer vision technologies to commercial applications in pig production facilities.

10 Disintegration testing augmented by computer Vision technology
آزمایش تجزیه با فناوری Vision کامپیوتری تقویت شده است-2022
Oral solid dosage forms, specifically immediate release tablets, are prevalent in the pharmaceutical industry. Disintegration testing is often the first step of commercialization and large-scale production of these dosage forms. Current disintegration testing in the pharmaceutical industry, according to United States Pharmacopeia (USP) chapter 〈701〉, only gives information about the duration of the tablet disintegration process. This infor- mation is subjective, variable, and prone to human error due to manual or physical data collection methods via the human eye or contact disks. To lessen the data integrity risk associated with this process, efforts have been made to automate the analysis of the disintegration process using digital lens and other imaging technologies. This would provide a non-invasive method to quantitatively determine disintegration time through computer algorithms. The main challenges associated with developing such a system involve visualization of tablet pieces through cloudy and turbid liquid. The Computer Vision for Disintegration (CVD) system has been developed to be used along with traditional pharmaceutical disintegration testing devices to monitor tablet pieces and distinguish them from the surrounding liquid. The software written for CVD utilizes data captured by cameras or other lenses then uses mobile SSD and CNN, with an OpenCV and FRCNN machine learning model, to analyze and interpret the data. This technology is capable of consistently identifying tablets with ≥ 99.6% accuracy. Not only is the data produced by CVD more reliable, but it opens the possibility of a deeper understanding of disintegration rates and mechanisms in addition to duration.
