Quantum-Enhanced Deep Learning-Based Lithology Interpretation From Well Logs
تفسیر لیتولوژی مبتنی بر یادگیری عمیق کوانتومی از Well Logs-2022 Lithology interpretation is important for understanding subsurface properties. Yet, the common manual well log
interpretation is usually with low efficiency and bad consistency.
Therefore, the automatic well log interpretation tools based
on machine learning and deep learning have been developed.
Although the state-of-the-art sophisticated models can show fine
interpretation performance with acceptable accuracies, “blind”
tests do not always exhibit satisfactory results because of the
complexity of lithology interpretation with respect to subsurface rock properties and the data-labeling quality. To solve
this generalization challenge, we propose to leverage the parameterized quantum circuits in the deep-learning model. The
quantum computing takes advantages of the superposition and
entanglement quantum systems, which could potentially endow
the generalization power or capability to the deep-learning
model. Using the proposed quantum-enhanced deep-learning
(QEDL) model, we have tested the model performance on
field well log data from different wells. Compared with the
classic fine convolutional neural network (CNN) model and the
long short-term memory (LSTM) model, the proposed QEDL
model achieves comparable model performance with a clearly
improved generalization power for interpreting both thin and
thick lithology layers. In addition, because of the quantum circuit
structure, the QEDL model needs much fewer model parameters
than LSTM and CNN models, i.e., the QEDL parameter number
in our study can be approximately 75% less than that of LSTM
and 89% less than that of CNN.

The quality of input sample also play an important role to attain the best performance in terms of improved accuracy and reduced FAR & FRR. Researchers has combined the various biometrics modalities to overcome the problems of Uni-modal bio- metrics. In this paper, a multi biometric feature level fusion system of Iris, and Fingerprint is presented. Due to consistency feature of fingerprint and stability feature of iris modality taken into consideration for high security applications. At pre-processing level, the atmospheric light adjustment algorithm is applied to improve the quality of input samples (Iris and Fingerprint). For feature extraction, the nearest neighbor algorithm and speedup robust feature (SURF) is applied to fingerprint and Iris data respectively. Further, for selecting the best features, the extracted features are optimized by GA algorithm. To achieve an excellent recognition rate, the iris and fingerprint data is trained by ANN algorithm. The experimental results show that the proposed system exhibits the improved performance and better security. Finally, the template is secured by applying the AES algorithm and results are compared with DES, 3DES, RSA and RC4 algorithm.© 2021 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. ConTrib: Maintaining fairness in decentralized big tech alternatives by accounting work
ConTrib: حفظ انصاف در جایگزین های غیرمتمرکز فناوری بزرگ با کار حسابداری-2021 ‘‘Big Tech’’ companies provide digital services used by billions of people. Recent developments, however,
have shown that these companies often abuse their unprecedented market dominance for selfish interests.
Meanwhile, decentralized applications without central authority are gaining traction. Decentralized applications critically depend on its users working together. Ensuring that users do not consume too many resources
without reciprocating is a crucial requirement for the sustainability of such applications.
We present ConTrib, a universal mechanism to maintain fairness in decentralized applications by accounting the work performed by peers. In ConTrib, participants maintain a personal ledger with tamper-evident
records. A record describes some work performed by a peer and links to other records. Fraud in ConTrib
occurs when a peer illegitimately modifies one of the records in its personal ledger. This is detected through
the continuous exchange of random records between peers and by verifying the consistency of incoming records
against known ones. Our simple fraud detection algorithm is highly scalable, tolerates significant packet loss,
and exhibits relatively low fraud detection times. We experimentally show that fraud is detected within seconds
and with low bandwidth requirements. To demonstrate the applicability of our work, we deploy ConTrib in the
Tribler file-sharing application and successfully address free-riding behaviour. This two-year trial has resulted
in over 160 million records, created by more than 94’000 users.

A disease transmission inspired closed-loop supply chain dynamic model for product collection
یک مدل پویا از زنجیره تامین حلقه بسته از طریق انتقال بیماری برای جمع آوری محصول-2021 This paper studies the reverse channel in dynamic closed-loop supply chain (CLSC) system which consists of manufacturers and retailers. Based on the dynamic CLSC model, we research the decisions and profits of CLSC members in different reverse channels that consider the quantitative characteristic of products. The results show that the optimal collection decisions for the given quantitative characteristic of products are diverse in different development levels of CLSC. Furthermore, we propose a transfer payment coordination mechanism based on Nash bargaining model to address the objective inconsistency between CLSC and its members. Moreover, we carry out the case study using the statistical data of Chinese new energy vehicles (NEVs). We show the robustness of results through the sensitivity analysis and offer some suggestions for the government and NEV managers in China. American Society of Biomechanics Early Career Achievement Award 2020: Toward Portable and Modular Biomechanics Labs: How Video and IMU Fusion Will Change Gait Analysis
انجمن آمریکایی بیومکانیک جایزه دستاورد اولیه شغلی 2020: به سوی آزمایشگاههای بیومکانیک قابل حمل و مدولار: چگونه تجزیه ویدئو و IMU تجزیه و تحلیل راه رفتن را تغییر می دهد-2021 The field of biomechanics is at a turning point, with marker-based motion capture set to be
replaced by portable and inexpensive hardware, rapidly improving markerless tracking
algorithms, and open datasets that will turn these new technologies into field-wide team projects.
Despite progress, several challenges inhibit both inertial and vision-based motion tracking from
reaching the high accuracies that many biomechanics applications require. Their complementary
strengths, however, could be harnessed toward better solutions than those offered by either
modality alone. The drift from inertial measurement units (IMUs) could be corrected by video data,
while occlusions in videos could be corrected by inertial data. To expedite progress in this
direction, we have collected the CMU Panoptic Dataset 2.0, which contains 86 subjects captured
with 140 VGA cameras, 31 HD cameras, and 15 IMUs, performing on average 6.5 minutes of
activities, including range of motion activities and tasks of daily living. To estimate ground-truth
kinematics, we imposed simultaneous consistency with the video and IMU data. Threedimensional joint centers were first computed by geometrically triangulating proposals from a
convolutional neural network applied to each video independently. A statistical meshed model
parametrized in terms of body shape and pose was then fit through a top-down optimization
approach that enforced consistency with both the video-based joint centers and IMU data. This
sensor-dense dataset can be used to benchmark new methods that integrate a much sparser set
of videos and IMUs to estimate both kinematics and kinetics in a markerless fashion.

Matching user accounts with spatio-temporal awareness across social networks
تطبیق حساب های کاربری با آگاهی مکانی-زمانی در سراسر شبکه های اجتماعی-2021 User identification aims at matching user accounts across social sites, which benefits many
real-world applications. Existing works based on user trajectories usually address spatial
and temporal data separately while not fully utilizing the coupling relation between them.
Differently, in this work, we jointly consider spatialtemporal information in users’ acitvities to improve the user identification method. In particular, we observe that check-in
records of different users tend to create inconsistent spatialtemporal information. These
inconsistencies are useful for eliminating false user matching. Inspired by this observation,
we propose a novel user identification method that captures the correlation of spatial and
temporal information and the inconsistency in check-in records. It contains three main
steps. 1) We measure the similarity of users’ trajectories based on a kernel density estimation, which considers spatial and temporal information simultaneously. 2) We assign a
weight to each check-in record to favor discriminative ones. 3) We utilize the inconsistency
among check-in records to compute penalties for trajectory similarity. The pair of accounts
with higher similarity (than a predefined threshold) is then considered to be from the same
user. We evaluate our approach on three ground-truth datasets. The results show that the
proposed method offers competitive performance, with F1 values reaching 86.12%, 85.08%
and 78.34%, which demonstrates the superiority of the proposed method over state-of-theart methods.

Can we trust Einstein’s accounts of the genesis of special relativity?
آیا میتوانیم به گزارشهای انیشتین درباره پیدایش نسبیت خاص اعتماد کنیم؟-2021 There are three kinds of sources available to reconstruct the reflections that led Einstein to special relativity: a few
contemporary letters and documents, his impersonal accounts of the genesis of this theory, and recollections of his
own path. At first glance, contradictions within and between these sources hamper the reliability of Einstein’s
accounts. Yet, a closer analysis reveals much more consistency than foreseen and helps eliminate the dubious,
contradictory elements. It then becomes possible to combine the three kinds of sources to produce a minimally
speculative and yet fairly coherent account of the genesis of special relativity.

The role of management accounting systems in global value strategies
نقش سیستم های حسابداری مدیریت در استراتژی های ارزش جهانی-2021 In this paper, we explore the relationship and interdependencies of firms’ positions in global markets, innova-
tion, foci on value creation or value development strategies and their intensity of use and system design of
management accounting (MA) tools. We collect data through a survey of the 500 largest Portuguese firms. The
results show multiple interdependencies of MA intensity of use and system design and global positioning as well
as the value foci of firms. Global market positioning, as well as MA intensity, is directly associated with inno-
vation. The multiple configurations also show that the value strategy focus (creating new products or solely
developing them for different markets) changes the nature of the MA system put in place by firms. Consequently,
we contribute to the discussion of MA systems vs MA packages by specifically addressing the fit and internal
consistency of those tools. Methodologically, the results are robust to different analytical tools - multivariate
regression, fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis (fsQCA) and factor analysis. keywords: سیستم های حسابداری مدیریت | ارزشآفرینی | بازارهای جهانی | fsqca | Management accounting systems | Value creation | Global markets | fsQCA |

Networks of interpretation: An ethnography of the quest for IFRS consistency in a global accounting firm
شبکه های تفسیر: قوم نگاری تلاش برای سازگاری IFRS در یک شرکت حسابداری جهانی-2021 Because of their complexity and principle-based nature, the creation of International Financial Reporting
Standards (IFRS) engendered significant uncertainty that modified the order of things within large accounting firms. This motivated them to establish Professional Practice Function (PPF) units to try to
ensure a credible degree of consistency in applying IFRS across a wide range of financial reports at the
international level. We study backstage dynamics surrounding a PPF national unit in one of the Big Four
firms. We focus on the rise of the PPF as an expert-based control device within the firm, and the role PPF
members play as knowledge brokers to interpret IFRS. Our investigation is carried out through ethnographic fieldwork supplemented by interviews with PPF members and field auditors. The analysis brings
forward some of the organizational dynamics surrounding PPF members efforts to establish their
credibility as intermediaries both hierarchically, between administrative partners and field auditors, and
epistemically, between the unifying logic of IFRS and auditees financial reporting specifics. Ultimately,
our analysis points to the role of the PPF as a gatekeeping or internal control device that mediates between different pools of knowledge to monitor the firms reputation risk against IFRS implementation
challenges. From a legal perspective, our ethnography documents how accounting “law” is made at the
firm level and how PPF members strive for consistency e in spite of significant epistemological and
organizational challenges. Our ethnography also shows that complex IFRS interpretation issues are not
resolved through one persons judgment; instead, the firms structure surrounding the PPF allows for the
constitution of inter-individual judgment that transcends national, sectoral, and (sometimes) organizational boundaries. Finally, we see one important contribution of our work as helping reveal the limits of
large conceptual categories such as “auditors”, which tend to downplay the dynamics of convoluted
practice relationships.
