1 The optimal recovery-fund based strategy for uncertain supply chain disruptions: A risk-averse two-stage stochastic programming approach
استراتژی مبتنی بر صندوق بازیابی بهینه برای اختلالات نامشخص زنجیره تأمین: رویکرد برنامه ریزی تصادفی دو مرحله ای ریسک پذیر-2021
For a supply chain subject to uncertain production disruptions, the joint optimization of invest- ment intervention on recovery speed and duration of disrupted production capacity and location and inventory management has not been well studied. In this paper, a novel recovery strategy is introduced and studied, which uses investment to adjust the recovery speed and duration of production capacity, and two recovery behaviors responding to different types of disruptions are modeled. Considering uncertain disruption scenarios and their ripple effects over the supply chain, a risk-averse two-stage stochastic programming model (RTSPM) is established to study the integrated supply chain management of selection of distribution centers, multi-period inventory, transportation flows, and recovery-fund based mitigation policy. The RTSPM incorporates the risk preference of managers in decision making. We propose a trust-region-based decomposition method to solve the RTSPM and demonstrate its efficiency by benchmarking on state-of-the-art commercial solvers. Through numerical examples, we deeply analyze the effectiveness of RTSPM and the relations of optimal recovery investment decisions with the uncertain disruption factors. Finally, we provide implications and suggestions induced from the models and findings to aid the decisions on renting of distribution centers and the emergency investment and operational decisions when suffering the disruptions.

2 Inventory management in blood supply chain considering fuzzy supply/demand uncertainties and lateral transshipment
مدیریت موجودی در زنجیره تأمین خون با توجه به عدم قطعیت عرضه / تقاضای فازی و حمل و نقل جانبی-2021
Supply and demand uncertainties combined with very short lifetime of blood platelets has led to significant wastage of the total blood collected from the donors. Conversely, great shortage of platelets may be obtained due to the limited number of donors and emergency demands. Therefore, it is of utmost importance to develop appropriate inventory management model to simultaneously minimize both shortage and wastage along the blood supply chain. To achieve this purpose, this paper presents an Inventory Management model for Age- differentiated platelets under supply/demand Uncertainties (IMAU) for Blood Supply Chains with Lateral Transshipment (BSCLT), resulting a new model named IMAU-BSCLT. The proposed model is solved using whale optimization algorithm considering the costs of ordering from blood centers and lateral transshipment, transportation, inventory holding, shortage, and wastage. In order to validate the proposed methodology, a case study of blood supply chain is used to show the usability of the proposed model and claim its benefits over existing models. Simulation results demonstrate that lateral transshipment between different demand nodes has a major impact on load balancing leads to simultaneously reduce both shortage and wastage costs. According to the obtained results, shortage rate (total shortage per total demands) and wastage rate (total wastage per total supply) of the proposed method are 3.4 % and 4.8 %, respectively.

3 The influence of online review adoption on the profitability of capacitated supply chains
تأثیر پذیرش بازبینی آنلاین بر سودآوری زنجیره های تأمین خازنی-2021
The paper explores the influence of online review adoption on supply chain profitability under the presence of a capacity constraint. Nowadays, customers increasingly rely on online reviews for decision making, and online retailers regard reviews as a norm. Although online reviews have been extensively examined in marketing disciplines, little research has been conducted to investigate their influence from a supply chain perspective. In addition, previous research has largely focused on how online review information can influence customer purchase behaviours, but ignores the more basic decision: whether and when companies should adopt reviews. This paper examines the online review adoption decision from a capacitated supply chain perspective through mathematical modelling and simulation. The simulation considers the influence of variables including online review adoption decisions, capacity constraint level, lost sales penalty level and product quality estimation on supply chain profitability. Generally, we find that online reviews can bring more profit to the supply chain than without online reviews, although such influence is moderated by the other three variables. The findings reveal the complexity of the contextual variable impacts on online review adoption, and demonstrate that decisions concerning the adoption of online reviews should take all supply-chain-related variables into consideration rather than only aiming for increasing customer orders.

5 Two-echelon supply chain network design with trade credit
Two-echelon supply chain network design with trade credit-2021
This study considers a two-echelon supply chain that is comprised of an outside vendor, multiple distribution centers (DCs), and multiple retailers. The retailers have access to trade credit offered by upstream suppliers. We propose an integrated DC-retailer network design model that optimizes trade credit terms and safety stock levels, in addition to the decisions of DC locations, DC-retailer assignments, and inventory replenishment policies typically considered in the literature. The operating and handling cost is concave and non-decreasing to capture economies of scale whereas most existing studies simply assume that such cost is linear in demand. Trade credit financing cost is characterized in a way that preserves the important mathematical structure of the classic warehouse retailer network design model. Leveraging on the sub modularity property of the cost components, we developed a polymatroid cutting-plane solution algorithm, which is effective for practically sized problem in- stances in numerical experiments. The results show that incorporating trade credit financing into supply chain network design may substantially reduce the total cost. Further, our study suggests a more consolidated supply chain network when either the safety stock or financing cost increases. Interestingly, as financing cost rises, a high-volume and low-frequency reorder pattern is favored, but the opposite is recommended when financing gain increases. The variation of each individual cost component is also analyzed for an in-depth understanding of the impact of operational and financial parameters on supply chain optimization.

6 Spare parts supply chain network modeling based on a novel scale-free network and replenishment path optimization with Q learning
مدل سازی شبکه زنجیره تامین قطعات یدکی بر اساس یک شبکه جدید بدون مقیاس و بهینه سازی مسیر پر کردن با یادگیری Q-2021
The efficiency of inventory management determines the customers’ buying experience, so a supply chain network with a shorter replenishment time is needed. The supply chain network is hoped to be robust to the stock-out of some distributors in the network under random customer demands. At the same time, replenishment path optimization method with the objective of minimizing the replenishment time is required. After reviewing previous work done in the field of supply network topology, scale-free network is proven to be efficient when it was used to model supply network. In addition, multi-agent based collaborative replenishment model is smarter. But, there is rare research on multi-agent based collaborative replenishment in the supply chain modelled by scale-free network. In this study, we proposed a spare parts supply chain network model based on a novel scale- free network. In this network growth process, the connection probability function of connecting new distributor to the existing distributors in the network, is constructed considering the connection number (for an existing distributor, its connection number means the number of other distributors which have collaborative relationship with it) and inventory capacity of the existing distributors and the transit time between new distributor and existing distributors. The connection probability function is built from the standpoints of both new distributor and the existing distributors. Furthermore, different selection policies are discussed in the network growth process to improve the efficiency. Unlike other replenishment path optimization methods, Q learning takes the advantage of interacting with the environment to make a dynamic decision. So, Q learning is selected to optimize the replenishment path in supply chain network. In the experiment, network static and dynamic performance is analyzed using the indicators: degree distribution, clustering coefficient, centrality and response time. Experi- mental results showed that the replenishment time of supply chain network which are optimized by Q learning is reduced by approximately 40%. So, the shorter replenishment time of the supply chain network is verified.

7 Interorganizational imitation in supply chain relationships: The case of inventory leanness
تقلید بین سازمانی در روابط زنجیره تامین: مورد ناب بودن موجودی کالا-2021
We examine the extent to which suppliers assimilate to their customers’ inventory leanness levels. Drawing on institutional theory, we hypothesize that there is a positive relationship between major customer and supplier inventory leanness and that this effect is moderated by compliant, reflexive, and normative isomorphic forces. Specifically, we contend that interdependence, uncertainty, and the age of the customer—supplier relationship strengthen the supplier’s imitative behaviors and, thus, the assimilation to its major customer’s inventory leanness. The hypotheses are tested empirically using a large panel data set of dyadic customer–supplier observations obtained from a variety of archival databases. The econometric analyses provide strong and robust evidence of interorganizational imitation in the domain of inventory management and, thus, document the role key customers play in shaping supplier firms’ inventories. We discuss implications of our research for the further development and broadening of the academic inventory literature as well as managerial practice.

8 Changing the game to compete: Innovations in the fashion retail industry from the disruptive business model
تغییر بازی برای رقابت: نوآوری در صنعت خرده فروشی مد از مدل کسب و کار مخل-2020
Unprecedented competition and emergent technologies have posed a challenge to many traditional retailers in recent years. Yet within this competitive environment, emerging innovative business models have thrived and successfully disrupted the industry. We analyze the nature of disruptive business-model innovations and the ways they disrupt the fashion retail industry. To that end, we examine three disruptors in the industry: born-digital brands, AI-enabled demand forecasting and product design, and collaborative consumption. After introducing the concept of disruptive business-model innovation, we discuss the three disruptors’ effects on the fashion industry. We find that all of these models keenly answer fundamental needs unmet by current business models, such as offering quality products at a competitive price, curated services, and sustainable consumption. At the same time, all three disruptors suggest effective operation models for handling demand uncertainty, inventory management, and timely responses to the market, all of which are inherent issues for current push supply chains and forecast-based, inventory-driven systems. Based on this analysis, we discuss important implications for both academics and industry practitioners.

9 Identifying inventory project management conflicts: Results of an empirical study
شناسایی تضادهای مدیریت پروژه موجود : نتایج یک مطالعه تجربی-2020
Although conflicts are being studied in many different management fields there seems to be a rather restricted number of studies on inventory management-related conflicts and it is for this reason why we conducted a study on exploring the different types of conflicts, their causes and the emerging character of conflicts during the shaping, implementation and usage of inventory systems. In doing so, a framework for assessing different types of conflicts is taken as a starting point. From our case studies, it can be concluded that each of the archetypical conflicts addressed in our framework manifested itself in the companies studied. Our exploratory case studies strongly indicates that during the process of redesigning and implementing improvements inventory management conflicts can evolve in time. Furthermore, in almost all companies studied, the identified conflicts had a multidimensional character and were a mix of the archetypes addressed in our theoretical framework. For project managers it seems to be important to be aware of the different potential conflicts that might arise during the course of inventory projects. The results presented in this article may therefore help project managers to guide projects in the area of inventory management more effectively.

10 Product assortment and space allocation strategies to attract loyal and non-loyal customers
مجموعه ای از محصولات و استراتژی های تخصیص فضا برای جذب مشتری های وفادار و غیر وفادار-2020
Assortment planning deserves much attention from practitioners and academics due to its direct impact on retailers’ commercial success. In this paper we focus on the increasingly popular retail practice to use combined product assortments with both “standard”and more fashionable and short-lived “variable”products for building up store traffic of “loyal”and “non-loyal”heterogeneous customers and enlarging the sales due to the potential cross-selling effect. Addressing the assortment planning as a bilevel optimization problem, we focus on decision-dependent uncertainties: the retailer’s binary decision about product inclusion influences the distribution of the product’s demand. Furthermore, our model accounts for customers’ optimal purchase quantities, which depend on budget constraints limiting the basket that a customer is able to purchase. We propose iterative heuristics using optimal quantization of demand and customers budget distributions to define the total assortment and the inventory level per product. These heuristics provide lower bounds on the optimal value. We conduct a comparison to other existing lower bounds and we formulate upper bounds via linear (LP) and semidefinite (SDP) relaxations for the performance evaluation of the heuristics and for an efficient numerical solution in high-dimensional cases. For managerial insights, we compare the proposed approach with three assortment planning strategies: (1) the retailer does not carry variable products; (2) the retailer ignores the cross-selling effect; and (3) the maximum space allocated to each product is fixed. Our results suggest that variable assortment boosts the retailers profits if the cross-selling effect is not neglected in the decision about products quan- tities.
