3 Supporting entrepreneurs : A systematic review of literature and an agenda for research
Entrepreneurship has become a cornerstone of economic development. The public awareness of this phenomenon spurred great interest from the academic community and policy makers alongside the creation of a vast range of entrepreneurship support initiatives. We conduct a systematic review of 122 academic articles published during a thirty year period between 1985–2015 that help to identify a series of theoretical, empirical, and practical gaps that form the basis of a research agenda. For instance, there is a shortage of conceptual articles and few empirical studies generating theoretical contributions; samples are small and idiosyncratic; context is rarely considered; and that mechanisms of ES are largely unknown. We propose that ES should develop along four main themes that ameliorate these exposed gaps: acknowledge and understand the heterogeneity of entrepreneurs and new ventures; apply existing theories to ES; improve methods and research design; and integrate ES into the ecosystem of support.

4 Exploring frugal innovation in social entrepreneurship:: Insights from emerging economies
Social entrepreneurshipinemergingeconomies isfraught with challenges concerning the availability of financial resources such as favorable credit terms, availability of human resources, and profit-making potential of new ventures, among others. Collectively, these conditions make undertaking entrepreneurial ventures difficult. As such, it is paradoxical that such adverse economic and institutional conditions in emerging economies also provide social entrepreneurs with opportunities to deliver social value. Research suggests that social entrepreneurial initiatives such as Jaipur foot in India and liter of light in Nigeria have overcome economic, social, and institutional constraints to create social value through frugal innovation. Yet as a scholarship, we have a limited understanding of the processes through which these frugal innovations emerge and how they enable social entrepreneurship in the context of emerging economies.

5 Mobilizing suppliers when starting up a new business venture
Prior research has shown that new ventures can complement their capabilities and extend their limited internal resources by drawing on suppliers. Yet, our knowledge of the supplier mobilization process in new ventures is limited. In this paper, we take a relational perspective on the mobilizing process, which entails investigating the scope for mobilizing suppliers in new ventures and new ventures’ attractiveness to suppliers. Drawing on three new venture cases, we posit that for new ventures the scope for mobilizing suppliers: 1) ranges from the use of suppliers for the procurement of well-defined existing inputs to the co-development of various resources and capabilities with suppliers; 2) varies across ventures, reflecting the new venture’s distance to market; and 3) depends on the supplier’s assessment of the new venture’s attractiveness as a customer. We also argue that the attractiveness of new ventures as customers to the suppliers is based on elements that differ from those found in studies of ongoing businesses, and include: 1) stimuli to innovate and develop new competencies, 2) reputational benefits and prestige, and 3) personal satisfaction.

6 Coworking spaces_ Empowerment for entrepreneurship and innovation in the digital and sharing economy
Freelancers, entrepreneurs, new ventures, but also incumbent firms increasingly use coworking spaces (CWS). The alignment of work-space and social space can facilitate organizational empowerment supporting individual work satisfaction. Our mixed-methods study of 328 respondents from CWS in 26 cities in the USA, Germany, and China identifies configurations of institutional patterns on work satisfaction associated with a sense of com- munity, autonomy, participation, linkage multiplicity and mutual knowledge creation. High work satisfaction can occur in three different configurations related to a) agility housing, b) knowledge housing, and c) social housing. Our findings contribute to how incumbent firms and CWS can influence work satisfaction and empower towards innovation and entrepreneurial performance.

7 The liability of rurality and new venture viability
This paper integrates imprinting theory and insights from rural/spatial entrepreneurship research to develop the concept “liability of rurality”. In the paper I argue why increasing rurality of geographical space should be considered a penalty for entrepreneurs. Further, I propose how rurality – as a liability - may influence the emergence, survival and growth prospects of new ventures. This includes a theoretical integration between the liability of rurality and the universal liabilities of newness and smallness. The paper ends with a research agenda discussing how the liability of rurality can add to and rejuvenate spatial and rural entrepreneurship research.

8 Exploring entrepreneurship related to the sustainable development goals - mapping new venture activities with semi-automated content analysis
It is widely agreed that humanity faces major sustainability challenges that require immediate action. The Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) are the most recent political call for action in this direction. In this study, we examine what role entrepreneurship in Germany plays in achieving the German SDGs. Thus, we pick up the discussion on sustainable entrepreneurship as a lever for change and search for empirical evidence that entrepreneurs in Germany identify and develop opportunities along the entire SDG spectrum. For our study, we examined a total of 193 venture competitions in Germany, collected data on a total of 588 rewarded ventures and used a semi-automated content analysis process to allocate those ventures to the main 17 SDGs based on their business activities. With our work offer a scalable and repeatable approach to map SDG related activity of new ventures, and we provide a detailed analysis of Germanys entrepreneurship landscape along the 17 SDGs. We found a very heterogeneous distribution of entrepreneurial activities along the goals, but also significant correlations between multiple goals that are frequently addressed jointly. Contrasting entrepreneurial activity along the SDGs with the national overall SDG performance of Germany we identified multiple SDGs that are rarely addressed by entrepreneurs despite strong needs for improvements. The identified patterns constitute a starting point for additional research on the potential of SDG related entrepreneurship and they direct policy makers and entrepreneurs where they can make the largest contribution to the SDGs.© 2019 Elsevier Ltd. 9 Effectual tactics in digital entrepreneurship: A process model
Uncertainty and the pursuit of new ventures are intricately linked. Digital technologies open up new ways for uncertainty handling in the pursuit of novelty. In this paper, we develop a process model that traces the dynamics among uncertainty, digitally enabled tactics, and organizational novelty. The model points to the potential of technologies that are evocative, disposable, and responsive for venturing in complex, uncertainty-ridden contexts. Our research builds on extant conceptualizations of complexity in innovation journeys, in conjunction with perspectives on effectual entrepreneurial tactics. Empirically, we investigate uncertainty handling through a longitudinal case study on an in-house venture for the
