1 Predicting social media engagement with computer vision: An examination of food marketing on Instagram
پیش‌بینی تعامل رسانه‌های اجتماعی با بینایی رایانه: بررسی بازاریابی مواد غذایی در اینستاگرام-2022
In a crowded social media marketplace, restaurants often try to stand out by showcasing elaborate “Insta- grammable” foods. Using an image classification machine learning algorithm (Google Vision AI) on restaurants’ Instagram posts, this study analyzes how the visual characteristics of product offerings (i.e., their food) relate to social media engagement. Results demonstrate that food images that are more confidently evaluated by Google Vision AI (a proxy for food typicality) are positively associated with engagement (likes and comments). A follow- up experiment shows that exposure to typical-appearing foods elevates positive affect, suggesting they are easier to mentally process, which drives engagement. Therefore, contrary to conventional social media practices and food industry trends, the more typical a food appears, the more social media engagement it receives. Using Google Vision AI to identify what product offerings receive engagement presents an accessible method for marketers to understand their industry and inform their social media marketing strategies.

2 Evolution of Quantum Computing: Theoretical and Innovation Management Implications for Emerging Quantum Industry
تکامل محاسبات کوانتومی: مفاهیم مدیریت نظری و نوآوری برای صنعت کوانتومی در حال ظهور-2022
Quantum computing is a vital research field in science and technology. One of the fundamental questions hardly known is how quantum computing research is developing to support scientific advances and the evolution of path-breaking technologies for economic, industrial, and social change. This study confronts the question here by applying methods of computational scientometrics for publication analyses to explain the structure and evolution of quantum computing research and technologies over a 30-year period. Results reveal that the evolution of quantum computing from 1990 to 2020 has a considerable average increase of connectivity in the network (growth of degree centrality measure), a moderate increase of the average influence of nodes on the flow between nodes (little growth of betweenness centrality measure), and a little reduction of the easiest access of each node to all other nodes (closeness centrality measure). This evolutionary dynamics is due to the increase in size and complexity of the network in quantum computing research over time. This study also suggests that the network of quantum computing has a transition from hardware to software research that supports accelerated evolution of technological pathways in quantum image processing, quantum machine learning, and quantum sensors. Theoretical implications of this study show the morphological evolution of the network in quantum computing from a symmetric to an asymmetric shape driven by new inter-related research fields and emerging technological trajectories. Findings here suggest best practices of innovation management based on R&D investments in new technological directions of quantum computing having a high potential for growth and impact in science and markets.

3 Monitoring crop phenology with street-level imagery using computer vision
پایش فنولوژی محصول با تصاویر سطح خیابان با استفاده از بینایی ماشین-2022
Street-level imagery holds a significant potential to scale-up in-situ data collection. This is enabled by combining the use of cheap high-quality cameras with recent advances in deep learning compute solutions to derive relevant thematic information. We present a framework to collect and extract crop type and phenological information from street level imagery using computer vision. Monitoring crop phenology is critical to assess gross primary productivity and crop yield. During the 2018 growing season, high-definition pictures were captured with side- looking action cameras in the Flevoland province of the Netherlands. Each month from March to October, a fixed 200-km route was surveyed collecting one picture per second resulting in a total of 400,000 geo-tagged pictures. At 220 specific parcel locations, detailed on the spot crop phenology observations were recorded for 17 crop types (including bare soil, green manure, and tulips): bare soil, carrots, green manure, grassland, grass seeds, maize, onion, potato, summer barley, sugar beet, spring cereals, spring wheat, tulips, vegetables, winter barley, winter cereals and winter wheat. Furthermore, the time span included specific pre-emergence parcel stages, such as differently cultivated bare soil for spring and summer crops as well as post-harvest cultivation practices, e.g. green manuring and catch crops. Classification was done using TensorFlow with a well-known image recognition model, based on transfer learning with convolutional neural network (MobileNet). A hypertuning methodology was developed to obtain the best performing model among 160 models. This best model was applied on an independent inference set discriminating crop type with a Macro F1 score of 88.1% and main phenological stage at 86.9% at the parcel level. Potential and caveats of the approach along with practical considerations for implementation and improvement are discussed. The proposed framework speeds up high quality in-situ data collection and suggests avenues for massive data collection via automated classification using computer vision.

4 Quantum computing in power systems
محاسبات کوانتومی در سیستم های قدرت-2022
Electric power systems provide the backbone of modern industrial societies. Enabling scalable grid analytics is the keystone to successfully operating large transmission and distribution systems. However, today’ s power systems are suffering from everincreasing computational burdens in sustaining the expanding communities and deep integration of renewable energy resources, as well as managing huge volumes of data accordingly. These unprecedented challenges call for transformative analytics to support the resilient operations of power systems. Recently, the explosive growth of quantum computing techniques has ignited new hopes of revolutionizing power system computations. Quantum computing harnesses quantum mechanisms to solve traditionally intractable computational problems, which may lead to ultra-scalable and efficient power grid analytics. This paper reviews the newly emerging application of quantum computing techniques in power systems. We present a comprehensive overview of existing quantum-engineered power analytics from different operation perspectives, including static analysis, transient analysis, stochastic analysis, optimization, stability, and control. We thoroughly discuss the related quantum algorithms, their benefits and limitations, hardware implementations, and recommended practices. We also review the quantum networking techniques to ensure secure communication of power systems in the quantum era. Finally, we discuss challenges and future research directions. This paper will hopefully stimulate increasing attention to the development of quantum-engineered smart grids.

5 Quantum Software as a Service Through a Quantum API Gateway
نرم افزار کوانتومی به عنوان یک سرویس از طریق دروازه کوانتومی API-2022
As quantum computers mature, the complexity of quantum software increases. As we move from the initial standalone quantum algorithms toward complex solutions combining quantum algorithms with traditional software, new software engineering methods and abstractions are needed. Nowadays, quantum computers are usually offered in the cloud, under a pay-per-use model, leading to the adoption of the service-oriented good practices that dominate the cloud today. However, specific adaptations are needed to reap the benefits of service-oriented computing while dealing with quantum hardware limitations. In this article, we propose the Quantum API Gateway—an adaptation of the API Gateway pattern that takes into account the fact that quantum services cannot be deployed as traditional services. Instead, the Quantum API Gateway recommends the best quantum computer to run a specific quantum service at run time. As proof of concept, we provide an implementation of the Quantum API Gateway for the Amazon Braket platform.

6 Pursuits in Collision Affiliation, Disaffiliation, and Multimodality in Persian Interaction
تعقیب وابستگی برخورد، عدم وابستگی و چندوجهی در تعامل فارسی-2022
This study is on pursuing an interactional outcome in the face of a co-interactant’s resistance. Despite at least a forty-year history of research on pursuits in social interaction (Jefferson, 1981; Pomerantz, 1984b), there is still much to explore about this ubiquitous social phenomenon. This research employs a multimodal conversation analytic methodology to address some less-explored questions on pursuits: what practices does an interactant use to further their course of action against their co-interactant’s resistance? Do the details of these practices have implications for the trajectory of the interaction towards escalation or de-escalation? What do these practices tell us about the agentive stance adopted by the pursuing party? And how can interactants heading towards an escalated pursuit manage disaffiliation? Two different types of pursuit sequences are introduced: persisting in furthering one’s course of action and gradually desisting from a course of action. The findings show a novel phenomenon called multimodal gradation: a temporally coordinated up- or downgrading of a multitude of resources that are simultaneously used in formatting a social action. Borrowing Mondada’s terms (2014), a whole “multimodal Gestalt” by which a turn at talk is delivered is up- or downgraded. Multimodal upgrading of a pursuit turn projects further expansions to the pursuit sequence and it can escalate an initial clash. On the other hand, multimodal downgrading of a pursuit turn projects a contingent sequence closure and de-escalation. Also, upgrading the multimodal Gestalt of a pursuit turn displays the pursuing party’s stronger agentive stance compared to downgrading the turn. The project introduces another multimodal phenomenon termed mock aggression. Used between intimate interactants, mock aggression offers opportunities for affiliation despite its aggressive appearance. The findings have implications for our understanding of sequence and preference organization in CA, multimodality, agency, and conflict management. Data are in Persian and collected in Iran.

7 Designing and constructing internet-of-Things systems: An overview of the ecosystem
طراحی و ساخت سیستم های اینترنت اشیا: مروری بر اکوسیستم-2022
The current complexity of IoT systems and devices is a barrier to reach a healthy ecosystem, mainly due to technological fragmentation and inherent heterogeneity. Meanwhile, the field has scarcely adopted any engineering practices currently employed in other types of large-scale systems. Although many researchers and practitioners are aware of the current state of affairs and strive to address these problems, compromises have been hard to reach, making them settle for sub-optimal solutions. This paper surveys the current state of the art in designing and constructing IoT systems from the software engineering perspective, without overlooking hardware concerns, revealing current trends and research directions.

8 Building a Quantum Engineering Undergraduate Program
ساخت برنامه کارشناسی مهندسی کوانتومی-2022
Contribution: A roadmap is provided for building a quantum engineering education program to satisfy U.S. national and international workforce needs. Background: The rapidly growing quantum information science and engineering (QISE) industry will require both quantumaware and quantum-proficient engineers at the bachelor’s level. Research Question: What is the best way to provide a flexible framework that can be tailored for the full academic ecosystem? Methodology: A workshop of 480 QISE researchers from across academia, government, industry, and national laboratories was convened to draw on best practices; representative authors developed this roadmap. Findings: 1) For quantum-aware engineers, design of a first quantum engineering course, accessible to all STEM students, is described; 2) for the education and training of quantum-proficient engineers, both a quantum engineering minor accessible to all STEM majors, and a quantum track directly integrated into individual engineering majors are detailed, requiring only three to four newly developed courses complementing existing STEM classes; 3) a conceptual QISE course for implementation at any postsecondary institution, including community colleges and military schools, is delineated; 4) QISE presents extraordinary opportunities to work toward rectifying issues of inclusivity and equity that continue to be pervasive within engineering. A plan to do so is presented, as well as how quantum engineering education offers an excellent set of education research opportunities; and 5) a hands-on training plan on quantum hardware is outlined, a key component of any quantum engineering program, with a variety of technologies, including optics, atoms and ions, cryogenic and solid-state technologies, nanofabrication, and control and readout electronics.

9 Introducing an application of an industry 4:0 solution for circular supply chain management
معرفی کاربرد راه حل صنعت 4:0 برای مدیریت حلقه تأمین دایره ای-2021
In recent years, sustainable supply chain management practices have been adopted by companies that desire to reduce the negative environmental and social impacts within their supply chains. Within this perspective, a circular approach has been developed in the supply chain literature. Circular economy models and solutions assisted by industry 4.0 technologies have been developed to transform products in the end of their life cycle into new products with different use. In this paper an industry 4.0 waste-to- energy solution is developed and applied in a pilot case study comprised by a real-world supply chain to evaluate the sustainability performance of circular supply chain management (CSCM). The findings show that redesigning supply chains for circular economy with the use of Industry 4.0 technologies, can enable circular supply chain management. Clear benefits are provided linking the proposed solution to the six circular economy dimensions of the ReSOLVE model i.e. regenerate, share, optimize, loop, virtualise, and exchange. Improved availability of personnel (5% and 15%) and fleet resources (15%) are identified as some of the key quantitative benefits, while supply chain traceability through the full visibility and automation offered by the proposed solution, are some of the key non-quantifiable out- comes. The present work seeks to contribute to the existing literature by providing empirical evidence of how industry 4.0 and circular economy are applied in practice. Implications for managers and policy makers, along with the study limitations and further research paths are also presented.© 2021 The Authors. Published by Elsevier Ltd. 10 Pain management for infants – Myths, misconceptions, barriers; knowledge and knowledge gaps
مدیریت درد برای نوزادان - افسانه ها، باورهای غلط، موانع؛ دانش و شکاف دانش-2021
Twelve years ago, the paper ‘Oral sucrose for pain management in infants: Myths and misconceptions’ was published in the Journal of Neonatal Nursing. At this time, eight myths or misconceptions were addressed. Since this time there has been more than 100 studies published reporting on analgesic effects of sweet solutions in newborns, which have been synthesised and included in systematic reviews. There has also been a growth of literature to support analgesic effects of breastfeeding and skin-to-skin care as well as concerning evidence of adverse long-term neurobehavioural outcomes associated with painful procedures. Yet, ongoing studies of pain management practices continue to report inconsistent use of these strategies during painful procedures. We are therefore at a cross-roads of evidence – there is knowledge of effective treatments, knowledge of harm of untreated pain, yet sick, premature as well as healthy infants are continuing to be exposed to painful procedures with no effective treatment. There are however ongoing myths, misconceptions, and practical barriers to using the evidence as well as ongoing knowledge gaps. This paper will therefore highlight existing myths, misconceptions, barriers and current knowledge gaps to using the three key evidence-based pain management strategies of breastfeeding, skin-to-skin care and sweet solutions, in the hope that this will bring to light newborn infant pain treatment practices that can be improved.
