Dual-channel supply chain coordination considering targeted capacity allocation under uncertainty
هماهنگی زنجیره تأمین دو کانال با توجه به تخصیص ظرفیت هدفمند تحت عدم اطمینان-2021 This paper investigates a dual-channel supply chain (SC) composed of a manufacturer and retailer in which the manufacturer confronts random yield issues. Since supply uncertainty may lead to a production shortage, the manufacturer faces the problem of allocating the products to traditional/online channels. To address this problem, a novel product-allocation policy is developed in which the limited supply is allocated to traditional and online channels under a flexible strategy called “targeted capacity allocation”. In order to coordinate the proposed decentralized channel, a two-part tariff contract is suggested. Furthermore, opening a direct channel besides brick-and-mortar stores is discussed through analytical results. Then, the effectiveness of the targeted capacity allocation policy is investigated by comparing the results of the current model with a case, in which, the same policy is not applied. By doing so, some interesting managerial insights on the merit of applying the capacity allocation policy in managing dual-channel SCs under yield uncertainty are revealed. Finally, numerical analysis shows that the proposed contract can perfectly coordinate the SC and achieve the Pareto improving solution for both partners. Economic analysis of a shared municipal solid waste management facility in a metropolitan region
تجزیه و تحلیل اقتصادی از یک مرکز مدیریت زباله جامد شهری در یک منطقه شهری-2020 Municipal solid waste (MSW) management in dense urban areas is a challenge for municipalities, especially
in developing countries, which commonly have deficient waste management. For example, the
metropolitan region of Goiás State, Brazil, has 19 municipalities that dispose of about 72.5% of total
MSW in unlicensed MSW final disposal facilities. Therefore, this study analysed the investment and operating
costs, and revenues of a municipal solid waste management facility, projected for 20 years, shared
among these 19 municipalities. The economic viability analysis, has shown that, regardless of the management
facility type, MSW collection and transport are the most expensive cost components, accounting
for about 60% of MSW management operating costs. For an Internal Rate of Return of 0%, anaerobic digestion
is 11% more expensive (in total) than using community composting. For 2040 (last year), the monthly
MSW management tariffs will vary between 3.5 and 10.8 R$inhabitant1month1, depending on the
municipality. So, as the unit price of biowaste treatments lowers with waste quantities, for the municipalities
with large biowaste quantities, anaerobic digestion becomes recommended for its economic
attractiveness. This study can serve as a model for other municipalities in Brazil and elsewhere, helping

Methodology to assess business models of dynamic pricing tariffs in all-electric houses
روش ارزیابی مدل های تجاری تعرفه های قیمت گذاری پویا در خانه های تمام برقی-2020 There is a need for methodologies that integrate energy simulation and cost calculation to assess grid
rent business models as incentive for demand-side management (DSM) in buildings. Despite the proliferation of energy simulation and cost calculation tools, there are no tool (e.g., software program) with
appropriate methodology that caters specifically for the assessment of business models based on aggregation of dynamic pricing tariffs. Furthermore, the majority of existing methodologies focus on evaluating
the supply-side management (SSM) of energy grids, and largely overlook the issue of influencing the customer to make good choices when it comes to DSM and/or design/renovation actions. This paper introduces energy and cost oriented methodology that provides informative support for utility companies and
electric-grid customers including households’ occupants to assess the economic incentives of different
energy and power dynamic pricing tariffs. A physical model-based building simulation tool (IDA-ICE) is
used to assess the energy performance of a representative residential benchmark including 96 all-electric
houses in Norway with and without renewable energy technology. A business model-based cost calculator
is developed and linked with the energy simulation’s outputs to assess the effectiveness of three dynamic
pricing tariffs, suggested recently by the Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate (NVE). The
effectiveness of the three pricing tariffs is compared (improving building’s energy efficiency vs enhancing
grid’s demand side load shifting). Overall, results indicate that the Tiered Rate tariff is the most effective
business strategy for customers to reduce the electric-based heating load during high demand periods.
However, the methodology generated a comprehensive suite of scenarios analysis that allow customers,

Tariff policies and economic management: A position of the Brazilian ports
تعرفه سیاست ها و مدیریت اقتصادی: موقعیت از بنادر برزیل-2020 Brazil has a relevante role in international trade due to its expressive production and handled volume of
commodities such as ore and soybean. To continue fulfilling this role, it is fundamental that the Brazilian port
system re-evaluates itself in order to improve port performance and competitiveness. Port tariffs and economic
management figure as important elements to the port competitiveness. Given this context, the present study
aimed to investigate and evaluate tariff policies and the economic management adopted by Port Authorities in
Brazil, so a study on Brazilian public ports was conducted. The study followed a qualitative approach and was
based on secondary data from the National Agency for Waterway Transportation (ANTAQ) and in-depth interviews
with Brazilian port managers. Findings showed that, despite certain standardization of tariff procedures
from regulatory bodies, ports differ in the applied tariffs and financial and economic management practices. This
study also found significant differences related to cost management procedures and investment project analysis,
which hamper the definition of reference values on port performance. These factors undermine potential

A personalized electricity tariff recommender system based on advanced metering infrastructure and collaborative filtering

information filtering challenge of choosing the most suitable tariff plans from a set of candidate tariff plans. This
paper proposes a new personalized recommendation system that makes intelligent electricity tariff recommendations
to end users. The proposed approach starts by collecting a group of end users’ electricity consumption
profiles through the advanced metering infrastructure and, based on this information, it infers the
preference of individual users on each tariff plan. Based on the inferred preference degree, a new matrix factorization
is established based on a collaborative filtering algorithm that is capable of recommending most
suitable tariff plans to an arbitrary target user. The proposed recommendation system is validated against a
number of scenarios that are generated based on simulated tariff plan sets and on a modified Australian “Smart

Sustainable supply chain management with pricing, greening and governmental tariffs determining strategies: A game-theoretic approach

most of the studies in the literature of green supply chain, almost the role of the government and inter
actions between the government and supply chains members’ decisions are disregarded. In this study, a
competitive mathematical model of government as the leader and two competitive green and non-green
supply chains as the followers is developed and for the first time in this paper, pricing policies, greening
strategies and governance tariffs determining in supply chains competition under government financial
intervals are discussed. In the presented framework, the government seeks social benefits and determines
subsidy and tax rates for green and non-green products respectively. The sale prices of products and the
green degree of the green product are supply chains’ decision variables. In centralized and decentralized
models, the optimal values of decision variables are gained and some important sensitivity analyses of
governance decisions are done. In the governmental decisions area, it is observed that the impact of rais
ing subsidy rate is significantly more than tax rate and it leads to increase in profits of government and
supply chains and sustainability of products. Also among the competition of supply chains, cooperating
between members makes more profit for them and leads to produce more eco-friendly products.

Energy-conscious unrelated parallel machine scheduling under time-of-use electricity tariffs
زمانبندی ماشین موازی غیر مرتبط انرژی آگاه تحت تعرفه های زمان مصرف برق-2017 This paper investigates an energy-conscious unrelated parallel machine scheduling problem under timeof-use (TOU) electricity pricing scheme, in which the electricity price varies throughout a day. The problem lies in assigning a group of jobs to a set of unrelated parallel machines and then scheduling jobs
on each separate machine so as to minimize the total electricity cost. We first build an improved
continuous-time mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) model for the problem. To tackle large-size
problems, we then propose a two-stage heuristic. Specifically, at the first stage, jobs are assigned to
machines aiming at minimizing the total electricity cost under the preemptive circumstance. At the
second stage, the jobs assigned to each machine are scheduled using an insertion heuristic. Computational results on a real-life instance for turning process and random test instances demonstrate that the proposed MILP approach is able to solve small-size problems while the two-stage heuristic is appropriate
for large-size problems. The case study for turning process also reveals that the proposed optimization
approaches can contribute to cleaner production.
