1 Investigating the impact of multidimensional social capital on equity crowdfunding performance
This research explores how social capital, in the multidimensional perspective using cognitive, relational and structural dimensions influences equity-crowdfunding (ECF) performance considering both the number of investors engaged and the funds collected. Our results demonstrate that cognitive dimensions in part affects ECF performance, in fact shared meaning has a little positive impact on both funding collected and the number of investors, while shared language has a negative effect on the investors involved. Both obligation and trust- worthiness (relational dimension) positively influence ECF performance. Regarding the structural dimension, social network ties has positive effects on ECF performance, while social interactions has a positive impact on funding collected. The research contributes to the current literature on ECF and highlights new factors affecting ECF performance. The study has implications from both a theoretical and a practical perspective. The study findings will be relevant for entrepreneurs, platforms managers and policymakers and offers avenues for further research.

2 The nexus between capital structure, firm-specific factors, macroeconomic factors and financial performance in the textile sector of Pakistan
The study aimed to analyse the role of the capital structure in the financial performance of 90 textile firms listed in Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) during the period 2008–2017. The dependent variable was return on equity as a proxy for financial performance. The independent variables were the debt to equity, total debt to total assets, asset turnover ratios, sales growth, taxation, and export growth, while the firm size was taken as a control variable. The panel regression estimation technique was employed for analysis purposes, and both cross-sectional and time- series data were collected for this study. This study used the random-effect regression estimation model based on the Hausman diagnostic test statistics. The results indicate that the capital structure debt to equity variable has a negative and significant relationship with financial performance while the asset turnover ratio and firm per- formance showed a negative and statistically insignificant relationship. Export growth and sales growth have a considerable positive connection with financial performance; however, firm size has a negative and significant impact on firm performance, in favour of our alternative research hypothesis. The remaining variables include tax payable and the total debt to total assets ratio, which have an insignificant connection with financial performance (ROE) and validate the agency theory. With better corporate governance by putting more pressure on managers or increasing managerial ownership, institutional investors can reduce the capital, leverage risk and the overall firm capital cost that help to improve the firms financial performance and economic stability.

3 Indigenous ontology, international law and the application of the Convention to the over-representation of Indigenous children in out of home care in Canada and Australia
This paper explores the efficacy of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (Convention, UN General Assembly, 1989) through the lens of the over-representation of First Nations children placed in out-of-home care in Canada and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Australia. A general overview of Indigenous worldviews frames a discussion on the coherence of international human rights law and instruments, including the Convention, account for Indigenous Peoples’ ontologies. The authors argue that the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (UN General Assembly, 2007) and a new theoretical framework published by the Pan American Health Organization (2019) on health equity and inequity are useful tools to augment the Convention’s coherence with Indigenous ontologies. The paper discusses how the Convention can be applied to structural and systemic risks driving the over-representation of First Nations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in out of home care in Canada and Australia. These two countries are included as First Nations and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in these countries have both had significant impact in advocating for their children despite experiencing similar barriers including contemporary colonialism. The advocacy work of the First Nations Child and Family Caring Society in Canada and the Victorian Aboriginal Child Care Agency in Victoria, Australia are discussed. The paper ends by outlining some of the challenges ahead that include the need to meaningfully recognize Indigenous self-determination and equitable funding and resources to enable the actualization of self-determination. Further research contrasting international human rights instruments with Indigenous ontologies could help inform possible amendments to international human rights treaties and general comments.

4 Factors associated with female genital cutting in Yemen and its policy implications
Background: A tremendous number of girls in Yemen are still subjected to female genital cutting (FGC), which carries an increased risk of health complications and violates children’s rights. This study describes the prevalence of FGC in four Yemeni provinces and investigates the determinants of FGC. Methods: We analyzed data from women aged 15 to 49 years who responded to a sub-national house- hold survey conducted in six rural districts of four Yemeni provinces in 20 08–20 09. Logistic regression was used to estimate the association between individual and household socioeconomic factors and FGC practices and attitudes. Results: The prevalence of women’s FGC was 48% while daughters’ FGC was 34%. Almost 45.8% of the women surveyed believe the FGC practice should discontinue. Higher odds of FGC practice and positive attitude towards it were associated with older age, family marriage, and lower tertiles of wealth and education indices. Early marriage was also associated with increased odds of FGC practice ( p < 0.01). Conclusions: Socioeconomic indices and other individual factors associated with FGC are differing and complex. Younger generations of women are more likely to not have FGC and to express negative atti- tudes towards the tradition. Appropriate strategies to invest in girls’ education and women’s empower- ment with effective engagement of religious and community leaders might support the change of atti- tudes and practice of FGC in the younger generation.

5 How does sensory brand experience influence brand equity? Considering the roles of customer satisfaction, customer affective commitment, and employee empathy
Building a favorable sensory brand experience is crucial in services settings to strengthen the competitive position of a brand and its equity. However, little empirical research exists in this area. Additionally, and surprisingly, most of the research on service brand experience neglects the importance of employees. This study investigates the effect of sensory brand experience on brand equity in the banking industry, through customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. It also examines whether employee empathy moderates the impacts of sensory brand experience on customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. Based on data collected through a panel of 1739 customers, the hypothesized structural model is tested using path analysis. Results show that sensory brand experience has a positive indirect impact on brand equity, through customer satisfaction and customer affective commitment. Customer satisfaction positively influences customer affective commitment, and employee empathy negatively moderates the relationship between sensory brand experience and customer satisfactio

6 Revolution of securities law in the Internet Age: A review on equity crowd-funding
Along with the development and prevalence of Internet technology, a new financing model – equity crowd-funding – has been rising rapidly in recent years. Against this background, it becomes an important global topic in the field of securities law about how to balance both policy agendas of investor protection and capital formation. By referring to the JOBS Act in the US as a typical example, it is suggested in this article that modern securities law is making an active response to the demand of equity crowd-funding development. Besides expanding the application space of small issues exemption rules, securities law is also going beyond the traditional conceptual division between public and private offerings by introducing a brand-new system of equity crowd-funding exemption.

7 Certification with Russian characteristics: Implications for social and environmental equity
This paper applies theories of equity and transnational “governance generating networks” to assess how forest certification is enacted in Russia. Drawing on eight years of field research, we compare the engagement of shifting networks of Russian private sector, NGO, governmental and local community actors in implementing select social and environmental standards and how this impacts the effectiveness of the FSC in tackling local community and environmental concerns. Our case study suggests that much of the parameter-setting for what is addressed in certification's “sites of im-plementation” happens outside of formal standards-setting processes. In regard to environmental standards, strong and stable transnational environmental networks have been relatively successful in protecting “high con- servation value forests”. However equivalent multi-level networks are lacking for key social standards. While a national social NGO has had some success in promoting procedural equity through community participation, we find no evidence that certification was addressing local community concerns for distributive equity. In partic- ular, certification had failed to address the loss of small and medium forest enterprises, loss of local access to sawnwood and rising costs of fuelwood. This highlights the power dynamics of global standards implementation and the need for multi-scale advocacy coalitions to ensure their effective implementation.© 2015 Elsevier B.V. 8 Migrant workers in Sabah, East Malaysia: The importance of legislation and policy to uphold equity on sexual and reproductive health and rights
Sabah, located in Southeast Asia, hosts the highest number of nonMalaysian citizens (27.7%), predominantly the Indonesian and Filipino migrants in comparison to other states in Malaysia. Sabah has inadequate data on migrants sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHRs). Various migrant-related policies and laws are present, but they do not offer full protection and rights to legal migrants in terms of their SRHRs. The aim of the laws and policies appears to be controlling the migrants from having any negative impact on the locals, rather than protecting migrants health and rights. This affected their rights to marriage, having children, increase their vulnerabilities to labour trafficking and sexual abuse and access to health-care services. Female migrant workers and undocumented migrants form the most vulnerable subgroups of migrants. This narrative review highlights the status of SRHRs of migrants in Sabah and the migrant-related Malaysian laws and policies affecting their SRHRs.

9 TIME-DEPENDENT MODEL OF CORPORATE INVESTMENTS IN FIXED ASSETS
The article examines the simplest model of investment in fixed assets by a corporation using debt. The value of corporation’s equity is the evaluation criterion. The value of equity can be determined by direct capitalization of gross profit in the income approach, which enables us to investigate the value of the corporation as a function of debt. This dependence called the financial management line may be studied from various angles. It has been previously shown that the financial management line is an increasing concave and piecewise-linear function and the formula for its generalized differential has been derived. The financial management line is constructed by using a steady-state model of income beyond the planning horizon. In the present article, we supplement the previous model with a general time-dependent model of income inside the planning horizon. We accordingly propose tools for estimating the dependence of the actual current value of equity on the potential value of the company beyond the planning horizon. 10 Market -Type Mechanisms and Public Service Equity: A Review of Experiences in European Public Services
In seeking to benefit from the competitive pressures exerted through mar- ketization, governments have hoped to gain improvements in public service efficiency. Yet, concerns remain about the effects of marketization on how equitably public services are provided. We consider evidence about the relationship between the intro- duction of market-type mechanisms in the European public sector and the efficiency and equity of service provision. Our analysis reveals that although market-type mech- anisms sometimes result in worse service equity, there is only weak evidence of a trade- off between efficiency and equity.
