1 Differential Privacy Preserving of Training Model in Wireless Big Data with Edge Computing
With the popularity of smart devices and the widespread use of machine learning methods, smart edges have become the mainstream of dealing with wireless big data. When smart edges use machine learning models to analyze wireless big data, nevertheless, some models may unintentionally store a small portion of the training data with sensitive records. Thus, intruders can expose sensitive information by careful analysis of this model. To solve this privacy issue, in this paper, we propose and implement a machine learning strategy for smart edges using differential privacy. We focus our attention on privacy protection in training datasets in wireless big data scenario. Moreover, we guarantee privacy protection by adding Laplace mechanisms, and design two different algorithms Output Perturbation (OPP) and Objective Perturbation (OJP), which satisfy differential privacy. In addition, we consider the privacy preserving issues presented in the existing literatures for differential privacy in the correlated datasets, and further provided differential privacy preserving methods for correlated datasets, guaranteeing privacy by theoretical deduction. Finally, we implement the experiments on the TensorFlow, and evaluate our strategy on four datasets, i.e., MNIST, SVHN, CIFAR-10 and STL-10. The experiment results show that our methods can efficiently protect the privacy of training datasets and guarantee the accuracy on benchmark datasets.

2 Simulation methodology and performance analysis of network coding based transport protocol in wireless big data networks
The Multi-Path, Multi-Hop (MPMH) communications have been extensively used in wire less network. It is especially suitable to big data transmissions due to its high throughput. To provide congestion and end-to-end reliability control, two types of transport layer pro tocols have been proposed in the literature: the TCP-based protocols and the rateless cod ing based protocols. However, the former is too conservative to explore the capacity of the MPMH networks, and the latter is too aggressive in filling up the communication capac ity and performs poorly when dealing with congestions. To overcome their drawbacks, a novel network coding scheme, namely, Adjustable Batching Coding (ABC), was proposed by us, which uses redundancy coding to overcome random loss and uses retransmissions and window size shrink to relieve congestion. The stratified congestion control strategy makes the ABC scheme especially suitable for big data transmissions. However, there is no simu lation platform built so far that can accurately test the performance of the network coding based transport protocols. We have built a modular, easy-to-customize simulation system based on an event-based programming method, which can simulate the ABC-based MPMH transport layer behaviors. Using the proposed simulator, the optimal parameters of the protocol can be fine-tuned, and the performance is superior to other transport layer pro tocols under the same settings. Furthermore, the proposed simulation methodology can be easily extended to other variants of MPMH communication systems by adjusting the ABC parameters.

3 A Brief Review of Methods and Approaches Proposed in Existing Literature to Address Issues in Wireless Big Data
Big data generated from wireless devices bring distinct challenges for the researchers due to its inherent spatial temporal nature. Reviewing existing literature on wireless big data, two major challenges are identified, processing and storage. To address these challenges various methodologies/approaches have been proposed and presented in the recent literature. To present the existing state of research on challenges associated with wireless big data, we present a systematic literature review of selected publications that address these issues. We also present areas which have not been addressed in the existing literature.

5 Envisioned Wireless Big Data Storage for Low-Earth-Orbit Satellite-Based Cloud
Satellite-based communication technology regains much attention in the past few years, where the satellites mainly play the role as relay devices to the communication networks. In this article, we focus on the data storage leveraging the low-Earth-orbit satellite-based data center (also called space-based cloud), which has been considered as a very promising secure paradigm for data storage, especially in the big data era. We first propose a layered architecture for the space-based cloud infrastructure. Then a novel management framework is devised to enable the operability of the proposed architecture. Finally, some challenging open issues are revealed from both the academic and industrial perspectives.

6 Optimal Task Allocation in Near-Far Computing Enhanced C-RAN for Wireless Big Data Processing
With the increasing popularity of user equipments, the corresponding UE generated big data (UGBD) is also growing substantially, which makes both UEs and current network structures struggle to process those data and applications. This article proposes a near-far computing enhanced C-RAN (NFC-RAN) architecture that can better process big data and its corresponding applications. NFC-RAN is composed of near edge computing (NEC) and far edge computing (FEC) units. NEC is located in the remote radio head,, which can quickly respond to delay-sensitive tasks from the UEs, while FEC sits next to a baseband unit pool, which can do other computation-intensive tasks. Task allocation between NEC and FEC is introduced in this article. Also, WiFi indoor positioning is illustrated as a case study of the proposed architecture. Moreover, simulation and experiment results are provided to show the effectiveness of the proposed task allocation and architecture.

7 Wireless Big-Data: Opportunity and the Design Challenging
Recent technological advancements have led to a deluge of data from distinctive domains over the past several years. In addition to its sheer volume, big data also exhibits other unique characteristics as compared with traditional data. For instance, more and more data-centers which host various ‘bigdata’, and those centers need to be networked for exercising Cloud-computing. This development calls for new system architectures for data acquisition and transmission. In this paper, we present a definition and challenges for distributed big data. Finally, we outline several potential research directions for distributed big data systems.

8 Data and Energy Integrated Communication Networks for Wireless Big Data
This paper describes a new type of communication network called data and energy integrated communication networks (DEINs), which integrates the traditionally separate two processes, i.e., wireless information transfer (WIT) and wireless energy transfer (WET), fulfilling co-transmission of data and energy. In particular, the energy transmission using radio frequency is for the purpose of energy harvesting (EH) rather than information decoding. One driving force of the advent of DEINs is wireless big data, which comes from wireless sensors that produce a large amount of small piece of data. These sensors are typically powered by battery that drains sooner or later and will have to be taken out and then replaced or recharged. EH has emerged as a technology to wirelessly charge batteries in a contactless way. Recent research work has attempted to combine WET with WIT, typically under the label of simultaneous wireless information and power transfer. Such work in the literature largely focuses on the communication side of the whole wireless networks with particular emphasis on power allocation. The DEIN communication network proposed in this paper regards the convergence of WIT and WET as a full system that considers not only the physical layer but also the higher layers, such as media access control and information routing. After describing the DEIN concept and its high-level architecture/protocol stack, this paper presents two use cases focusing on the lower layer and the higher layer of a DEIN network, respectively. The lower layer use case is about a fair resource allocation algorithm, whereas the high-layer section introduces an efficient data forwarding scheme in combination with EH. The two case studies aim to give a better explanation of the DEIN concept. Some future research directions and challenges are also pointed out.
