1 Death abroad: Medico-legal autopsy results of repatriated corpses A retrospective analysis of cases at the Department of Legal Medicine in Frankfurt am Main
Introduction: Repatriated corpses may have been autopsied abroad. The aim of the study was to compare the findings from second medico-legal autopsies with those from primary autopsies abroad to spotlight possible implications for the management of repatriated corpses. Material and Methods: All autopsies from a 20-year period at the Institute of Legal Medicine in Frankfurt am Main on repatriated corpses of German citizens were reviewed. The results were compared with the information from the body passports, the protocols of the autopsies in the country of death, and the police files. Results: In total, 151 corpses repatriated from 56 different countries were autopsied. The interval between death and autopsy in Germany was 2–603 days (median: 11 days). 91 of the repatriated corpses (59.5%) had previously been autopsied abroad. Three body cavities had been opened in 78.0% (71/91) of the original autopsies; among them, there were 11 cases (15.5%) with dissection of all organs, as opposed to 7 cases (9.9%) with all organs intact and in situ. Of the previously autopsied corpses, 62.6% were accompanied by a body passport that noted the cause of death. In nearly 75% of these cases, the stated cause of death was compatible with that established at second autopsy. In 5 cases (10.2%), the cause of death established in the second autopsy disagreed with that on the body passport. The most prominent disparity was a cranial gunshot wound rather than the stated fatal fall. Discussion: This analysis of individual cases spotlights the problematics of an uncritical approval of the body passport. In light of the different procedural autopsy standards around the world, the validity of an autopsy abroad is discussed in the context of the second autopsy results. Conclusion: A second external postmortem examination by qualified medical practitioners should be obligatory in all cases of repatriated corpses, with notification of the criminal police in all cases of nonnatural or undetermined death. A timely second autopsy is recommended even in cases with previous autopsy abroad.

2 Evaluating industrial modularization strategies: Local vs. overseas fabrication
Modularization is becoming more popular in industrial construction to enhance various project management aspects, including time, cost, safety, quality, and productivity. Although many studies have highlighted the differences between modular and conventional (stick-built) construction, little research is conducted to evaluate alternative fabrication strategies (e.g., overseas versus local fabrication). Some practitioners prefer to build modules locally, while some others prefer to outsource the module fabrication overseas and ship them to the industrial plant. This dramatically affects the decision on the size of the module envelope, and in turn, many other associated factors. The purpose of this study is to develop an integrated framework to evaluate different module fabrication strategies. This study employs various automation tools (e.g., building information modeling (BIM), simulation modeling) to quantify the impact of module fabrication strategies on any selected industrial project. The proposed framework considers various project aspects such as shipment and handling, fabrication, lifting, module resizing, and module assembly yard to find the best fabrication strategy. An actual case study, part of an industrial plant in Alberta, Canada, is presented in this paper to elucidate research contributions.

3 Surplused in Duba i: Filipino professionals as surplus entrepreneurs
We focus on Filipino professionals, skilled and technical workers in Dubai as a relative surplus population. Though they seek employment in Dubai because they are surplused from the Philippine labour market, their remittances are essential to the Philippine political economy. Labour precarity in Dubai and uncertain prospects of return to the Philippines are ever present for these workers. They are employed on short (typically three-year) contracts, are of low status in a racialised labour market in Dubai, and will be required to return to the Philippines at the end of their work lives. In recent years the Philippine government has given more attention to reintegration programs for return Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs), who are framed as both a problem and a resource. Drawing on interviews and ethnographic methods, we analyze entrepreneurship training for return OFWs in Dubai, which seeks to equip migrant workers with the right entrepreneurial mindset and business skills prior to their return. We document the inculcation of neoliberal values of educational uplift and self-responsibilization through this training. Middle-class OFWs are also envisioned by government representatives (and the OFWs themselves) as a kind of development strategy whereby middle-class surplus entrepreneurs, through their inventive social enterprises, take responsibility for other surplus populations (e.g., lower status OFWs such as domestic workers, disabled persons and drug addicts) in the Philippines.

4 Patenting abroad: Evidence from OECD countries
The hypothesis that when the imitation risk is supported from exports then the decision to patent abroad is in tensified is coming under scrutiny in the present paper, using data from 28 OECD countries. We investigate this issue, via two routes: the full sample for all source countries and a group-based. Higher exports increase the im pact of imitation risk in the destination country on patenting abroad. The impact is positively correlated with the source countrys size. Business cycle impact is statistically significant and positive but the counter intuitive sign of the IPR regime in the destination country demands further investigation. Finally, the distance variable is statisti cally significant and negative, verifying gravity model.

5 Protective or harmful? Exploring the ambivalent role of social identification as a moderator of intergroup stress in sojourners
Living outside one’s home country may be stressful, and having strong social ties should help deal with this stress. However, social ties may be protective or harmful depending on whether the social group they evoke belongs to the host- or the home country context. The current study examines how social identification with different groups may either buffer or aggravate the negative effects of two stressors (perceived discrimination and symbolic threat) on sojourner adaptation. Two hundred and twenty international students sojourning in nine different coun tries responded to an online questionnaire. As expected, adaptation was negatively predicted by both stressors. Moreover, high identification with the group of international students attenuated the negative effects of perceived discrimination on psychological adaptation, while home country identification aggravated the negative effects of symbolic threat on sociocultural adaptation.
