Differential effect of knowledge on stakeholders’ willingness to pay green building price premium: Implications for cleaner production
تأثیر اختلاف دانش بر تمایل ذینفعان برای پرداخت حق بیمه قیمت سبز ساختمان: پیامدهای تولید پاک کننده-2020 Green buildings (GBs) are designed to reduce the environmental impact of construction while improving
human comfort and health. However, green buildings are often more expensive than conventional
buildings, because green building price premium tends to cover extra costs, such as import prices, investment
in research and development, and more efficient, but more expensive, construction systems.
The present study aims to assess the extent to which knowledge about green building benefits affects the
acceptable size of green building price premium across different groups of stakeholders. The survey was
carried out in Israel in 2016 and covered 438 potential homebuyers, 50 architects, and 50 building
contractors (developers). As the study revealed, consumers more familiar with green building benefits
are willing to pay 9.25% of green building price premium, as opposed to 7.74% extra costs acceptable to
consumers being less familiar with green building benefits (P < 0.05). By contrast, among the developers,
the acceptable size of green building price premium was found to be inversely related to the level of
knowledge e about 17% among developers more familiar with green building vs. 29% among developers
less familiar with it.We explain these differences by the fact that developers previously involved in green
building projects, may be more aware about a relatively small price premium that consumers are willing
to pay for accommodations in such buildings. Developers with past green building experience may also
have better knowledge about long bureaucratic procedures and complex management of green building
projects, which may reduce their willingness to add green buildings to their investment portfolios. The
main finding of the study is that improved knowledge about green building benefits has varying effects
on different groups of stakeholders. Therefore, in order to stimulate cleaner production in the construction
industry, user-tailored strategies aimed at stimulating interest in green building among various
groups of stakeholders should be applied. Keywords: GBs | Green buildings | PP | Price premium | WTP | Willingness to pay | WTA | Willingness to add | Knowledge | Stakeholders |

Analyzing green building project risk interdependencies using Interpretive Structural Modeling
تجزیه و تحلیل وابستگی متقابل پروژه ساختمان سبز با استفاده از مدل سازی ساختاری تفسیری-2020 Green building (GB) projects have attracted wide attention in the construction industry in recent years
owing to numerous benefits of green practices for sustainable development. However, existing research
efforts on GB project risk management are very limited, and no prior in-depth research has focused on
studying the risk interdependencies in GB projects from the perspectives of both the project life cycle
and multiple project risks. This paper begins by identifying and distinguishing GB project constraints
from multiple GB project risks using a systematic literature review and then investigates, based on the
Interpretive Structural Modeling (ISM) method, the risk interdependencies taking into account the
identified 16 constraint factors, 22 risk factors and 11 objectives throughout a GB project life cycle. The
importance of constraints and risk factors associated with GB project objectives was calculated based on
the influence transmission through network paths in the established ISM-based model. In addition, the
Matrice d’Impacts Croises Multiplication Appliquee a un Classement (MICMAC) approach was used to
analyze the drive and dependence powers of risk interdependency elements. Critical constraints and risk
factors in the implementation of GB projects can be obtained from the proposed risk analysis model,
which contributes to an in-depth risk perception of GB projects for industry practitioners and facilitates
GB project risk management in a more effective way Keywords: Green building projects | Risk management | Risk interdependencies | Interpretive structural modeling (ISM) | Matrice d’Impacts Croises Multiplication | Appliquee a un Classement (MICMAC) | analysis |

The integrated effect of Big Data Analytics, Lean Six Sigma and Green Manufacturing on the environmental performance of manufacturing companies: The case of North Africa
اثر یکپارچه تحلیل داده های بزرگ، تولید شش سیگما و سبز بر عملکرد زیست محیطی شرکت های تولیدی: مورد شمال آفریقا-2020 With the advent of Big Data Analytics (BDA) alongside the maturity of specific improvement approaches
such as Lean Six Sigma (LSS) and Green Manufacturing (GM), the integration of these initiatives to
achieve higher environmental performance (EP) is gathering the interest of both researchers and practitioners.
The present study builds on the resources based view of capabilities to propose and empirically
test a framework exploring whether LSS and GM mediate the relationship between BDA capabilities and
EP. A two-stage hybrid Factorial Analysis - Structural Equation Modeling is used to draw insights from
201 industry practitioners from North African companies. The findings confirm the direct influence of
BDA on EP and also identify LSS and GM as significant mediating variables that act as a catalyst to boost
indirect impacts of BDA on EP. This study can help researchers and practitioners to fully understand and
benefit from BDA capabilities and improvement initiatives such as LSS and GM while managing environmental
issues. The study discusses theoretical and managerial implications for enhancing the environmental
performance of the manufacturing organizations. Keywords: Environmental performance | Big data analytics | Lean Six Sigma | Green Manufacturing | Structural equation modeling |

Green infrastructure needs green governance: Lessons from Australia’s largest integrated stormwater management project, the River Torrens Linear Park
زیرساخت های سبز به مدیریت سبز احتیاج دارند: درسهایی از بزرگترین پروژه مدیریت یکپارچه طوفان آب استرالیا ، پارک خطی رودخانه تورنس-2020 The River Torrens Catchment in Adelaide has suffered from poor water quality and flooding for decades.
To address these challenges, a green infrastructure project, specifically a Linear Park, was created within
the catchment. Although the project has functioned reasonably well since its implementation, its
complex nature poses several management challenges. Despite the scale of this project, there is little
scholarly literature available. Hence, to analyse these management challenges, this paper reviews the
original project documentation, as well as regulations and policy documents together with findings from
interviews with key project informants. The aim is to investigate the key drivers for implementation; the
major stakeholders involved; and the challenges emerging from the multidimensional attributes of the
project. The challenges relate to the inconsistent and informal management structure, the involvement of
multiple stakeholders, and pressure from surrounding development. The challenges are further grouped
under four main themes, including communication and collaboration, project design goals, institutional
and political frameworks, and planning and development regulations. This paper argues that green
governance is the key to the successful implementation and management of sustainable green infrastructure
projects. The findings from this case study can inform policymakers, planners and researchers
to propose appropriate scenarios to manage urban stormwater and to reclaim neglected waterways. Keywords: Green infrastructure | Stormwater management | River Torrens Linear Park | Green governance |

Key stakeholder values in encouraging green orientation of construction procurement
ارزش های ذینفعان کلیدی در تشویق جهت گیری سبز در ایجاد ساخت و ساز-2020 Poor environmental management of construction projects contributes greatly to environmental
degradation. While many changes have been introduced in the global industry, such as the
development of green materials and green building certification, limited effort has been done by
stakeholders to bring about any improvement in Malaysia. Green procurement was introduced to
accelerate practitioners to procure green buildings. This paper examines the interaction between
two main constructs – stakeholder values and green procurement – through a questionnaire survey of experienced Malaysian construction stakeholders, extracted from an extensive literature review and validated through expert interviews. The ensuing data is then used to build
a structural equation model to measure the constructs through their constituent variables, to
verify if stakeholder values have a significant impact on the adoption of green procurement by an
organisation or for a project. The study reveals that stakeholder values have a positive influence
on shaping the green orientation of a construction procurement. The identified key stakeholder
values are stakeholder commitment, technical competencies, awareness and knowledge sharing.
The results show the key values needed for their procurement delivery to be on a sustainable
path. The study also provides the basis for further research into green procurement for
construction projects in Malaysia and beyond. Keywords: Construction | Green procurement | Stakeholder values | Structural equation model |

Incentivizing green entrepreneurship: A proposed policy prescription (a study of entrepreneurial insights from an emerging economy perspective)
تحریک کارآفرینی سبز: نسخه پیشنهادی سیاست (مطالعه بینش کارآفرینی از منظر اقتصاد نوظهور)-2020 This study undertakes an in-depth analysis of green and traditional entrepreneurs’ experiences using a multiple case study research methodology along with triangulation and coding techniques, identifying the specific drivers of ecopreneurship given the constraints and challenges faced by them. This study maps this analysis to Resource Based View’s (RBV) theoretical construct and argues that ecopreneurs navigate and negotiate their enterprise development constraints through combinations of personal at- tributes and innovative mechanisms rendering tangible and intangible economic, environmental and social gains. It further proposes a policy framework to incentivise, assist and accelerate ecopreneurs’ efforts in achieving scalability in an uncertain external ecosystem. This proposed framework would also address the conflict between monetisation of innovations and environmental concerns.© 2020 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved. Impact of Lean, Agile and Green (LAG) on business competitiveness: An empirical study of fast moving consumer goods businesses
تأثیر Lean ، Agile و Green (LAG) بر رقابت تجاری: مطالعه تجربی تجارت سریع کالاهای مصرفی-2020 The adoption/utilisation of Lean, Agile and Green (LAG) practices in both the manufacturing and service sector is rising. However, there yet remain a research gap to precisely evaluate the relationship between LAG practices and business competitiveness (e.g, achieving reduction in cost, lead time and environmental recyclable waste). This research aims to explore this relationship, specifically in fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) businesses. The hypothesised relationships are tested with data collected from 96 FMCG companies. Structural Equation Modelling is applied to evaluate different channels of achieving business competitiveness through the adoption of Lean, Agile and Green. The findings suggest that competitive outcomes vary with the adoption of LAG practices in specific product life cycle stages. This implies that awareness of the product life cycle concept is essential. A combination of LAG practices for the sole purpose of reducing environmental waste is negatively related to environmental waste reduction. LAG practices are more efficiently adopted when the adopters are equipped with expert knowledge on the paradigms and their individual practices. This research has approached the attainment of competitiveness in the FMCG businesses by analysing management efforts that improve cost performance, lead time and environmental sustainability aspects of business operations. The research has also considered the product life cycle stages in analysing the impacts of management efforts. Keywords: Lean | Green | Agile | Product life cycle | Competitiveness |

The prospects of waste management in the hospitality sector post COVID-19
چشم انداز مدیریت پسماند در بخش مهمان نوازی پس از COVID-19-2020 COVID-19 has imposed significant detrimental effects on the global hospitality sector. These effects have pri- marily been considered from the socio-economic perspective, ignoring the implications of the pandemic for the environmental performance of hospitality services. By drawing upon emerging evidence from various academicand non-academic sources, this conceptual paper critically evaluates the implications of the preventative and protective measures adopted against COVID-19 for the generation of the hospitality sector’s food and plastic waste. The implications are divided into direct and indirect and considered through the prism of temporality oftheir anticipated occurrence (immediate, short-term and medium-term perspective). The paper proposes po- tential strategies to aid in the management of these wastes in the hospitality sector in a post-pandemic world. To address the issue of food waste, the hospitality sector should be integrated into alternative food networks (AFNs) and short food supply chains (SFSCs). Business coopetition between hospitality enterprises and other actors of the food supply chain is necessary for the success of such integration. To address the issue of plastic waste, thehospitality sector should invest in ‘green’ innovation. This investment needs to be encouraged and supported bytargeted policy interventions. The paper argues that these strategies are critical not only in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, but will also remain valid for the sustained development of the hospitality sector in light of future disastrous events, especially climate change. The paper discusses the institutional and organisational prerequisites for the effective implementation of these strategies and highlights the related research opportunities. Innovative green product diffusion through word of mouth
انتشار محصول نوآورانه سبز از طریق کلمه به دهان-2020 Green products are gaining popularity because of their environmental friendliness compared
with conventional products. This study examines a word-of-mouth (WOM) diffusion problem of a
newly launched green product and investigates the effects of consumers’ environmental awareness
(CEA). Analytical results show that CEA significantly affects green product diffusion in terms
of firms’ pricing strategies and market shares. The market structure also has effects on diffusing a
green product: the pricing strategies and environmental performance of diffusing a green product
in a Bertrand competition market are different from those in a Stackelberg game market. When
considering green-design decision, it is interesting to show that the green product’s price decreases
with the increase of CEA, which is contrary to the pricing strategy without green design.
From the numerical study of the CEA-featured WOM diffusion case, we find that CEA-featured
WOM does not affect the pricing strategies of the green and conventional products, but does have
a significant impact on the market shares of both products. Keywords: Green marketing | WOM diffusion | Environmentally conscious consumption | Sustainable operations management | Green supply chain management |

Decision-making of municipal urban forest managers through the lens of governance
تصمیم گیری مدیران جنگل شهری شهری از طریق لنز حاکمیت-2020 Awareness of the benefits of urban trees has led many cities to develop ambitious targets to increase tree
numbers and canopy cover. Policy instruments that guide the planning of cities recognize the need for new
governance arrangements to implement this agenda. Urban forests are greatly influenced by the decisions of
municipal managers, but there is currently no clear understanding of how municipal managers find support to
implement their decisions via new governance arrangements. To fill this knowledge gap, we collected empirical
data through interviews with 23 urban forest municipal managers in 12 local governments in Greater Melbourne
and regional Victoria, Australia, and analysed these data using qualitative interpretative methods through a
governance lens. The goal of this was to understand the issues and challenges, stakeholders, resources, processes,
and rules behind the decision-making of municipal managers. Municipal managers said that urban densification
and expansion were making it difficult for them to implement their strategies to increase tree numbers and
canopy cover. The coordination of stakeholders was more important for managers to find support to implement
their decisions than having a bigger budget. The views of the public or wider community and a municipal
government culture of risk aversion were also making it difficult for municipal managers to implement their
strategies. Decision-making priorities and processes were not the same across urban centres. Lack of space to
grow trees in new developments, excessive tree removal, and public consultation, were ideas more frequently
raised in inner urban centres, while urban expansion, increased active use of greenspaces, and lack of data/
information about tree assets were concerns for outer and regional centres. Nonetheless, inter-departmental
coordination was a common theme shared among all cities. Strengthening coordination processes is an important
way for local governments to overcome these barriers and effectively implement their urban forest
strategies. Keywords: Municipal government | Urban planning | Urban greenspace | Urban forest management | Urban forest governance |
