1 Face mask recogniser using image processing and computer vision approach
The world saw a health crisis with the onset of the COVID-19 virus outbreak. The mask has been identified as the most efficient way to prevent the spread of virus [1]. This has driven the necessity for a face mask recogniser that not only detects the presence of a mask but also gives the accuracy to which a person is wearing the face mask. Also, the face mask should be recognised in all angles as well. The goal of this study is to create a new and improved real time face mask recogniser using image processing and computer vision approach. A Kaggle dataset which consisted of images with and without masks was used. For the purpose of this study a pre-trained convolutional neural network Mobile Net V2 was used. The performance of the given model was assessed. The model presented in this paper can detect the face mask with 98% precision. This Face mask recogniser can effi- ciently detect the face mask in side wise direction which makes it more useful. A comparison of the performance metrics of the existing algorithms is also presented. Now with the spread of the infectious variant OMICRON, it is necessary to implement such a robust face mask recogniser which can help control the spread.

2 Smart mask – Wearable IoT solution for improved protection and personal health
The use of face masks is an important way to fight the COVID-19 pandemic. In this paper, we envision the Smart Mask, an IoT supported platform and ecosystem aiming to prevent and control the spreading of COVID-19 and other respiratory viruses. The integration of sensing, materials, AI, wireless, IoT, and software will help the gathering of health data and health-related event detection in real time from the user as well as from their environment. In the larger scale, with the help of AI-based analysis for health data it is possible to predict and decrease medical costs with accurate diagnoses and treatment plans, where the comparison of personal data to large-scale public data enables drawing up a personal health trajectory, for example. Key research prob- lems for smart respiratory protective equipment are identified in addition to future research di- rections. A Smart Mask prototype was developed with accompanying user application, backend and heath AI to study the concept.

3 Evaluation of six commercial SARS-CoV-2 rapid antigen tests in nasopharyngeal swabs: Better knowledge for better patient management?
Robust antigen point-of-care SARS-CoV-2 tests have been proposed as an efficient tool to address the COVID-19 pandemic. This requirement was raised after acknowledging the constraints that are brought by molecular biology. However, worldwide markets have been flooded with cheap and potentially underperforming lateral flow assays. Herein we retrospectively compared the overall performance of five qualitative rapid antigen SARS- CoV-2 assays and one quantitative automated test on 239 clinical swabs. While the overall sensitivity and specificity are relatively similar for all tests, concordance with molecular based methods varies, ranging from 75,7% to 83,3% among evaluated tests. Sensitivity is greatly improved when considering patients with higher viral excretion (Ct≤33), proving that antigen tests accurately distinguish infectious patients from viral shedding. These results should be taken into consideration by clinicians involved in patient triage and management, as well as by national authorities in public health strategies and for mass campaign approaches.

4 Supply chain design to tackle coronavirus pandemic crisis by tourism management
The rapid growth of the COVID-19 pandemic in the world and the importance of controlling it in all regions have made managing this crisis a great challenge for all countries. In addition to imposing various monetary costs on countries, this pandemic has left many serious damages and casualties. Proper control of this crisis will provide better medical services. Controlling travel and tourists in this crisis is also an effective factor. Hence, the proposed model wants to control the crisis by controlling the volume of incoming tourists to each city and region by closing the entry points of that region, which reduces the inpatients. The proposed multi-objective model is designed to aim at minimizing total costs, minimizing the tourist patients, and maximizing the number of city patients. The Improved Multi-choice Goal programming (IMCGP) method has been used to solve the multi-objective problem. The model examines the results by considering a case study. Sensitivity analyses and managerial insight are also provided. According to the results obtained from the model and case study, two medical centers with the capacity of 300 and 700 should be opened if the entry points are not closed.© 2021 Elsevier B.V. 5 Paradoxes and mysteries in virus-infected supply chains: Hidden bottlenecks, changing consumer behaviors, and other non-usual suspects
In the early onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in the U.S., consumers experienced surprising shortages of essential goods such as toilet paper, yeast and flour, and some of their favorite meat cuts that appeared to be unrelated to the pandemic at first look. The “usual” explanations attributing these shortages to “demand spikes” (e.g., foreign suppliers, trade wars and tariffs, and “hoarding behavior” of panicked consumers) often failed to explain them, and in the best of cases, predicted only temporary shortages. However, shortages in these supply chains ended up being in many cases real “supply chain struggles,” with their true causes going beyond the “usual” ones, and revealing a set of deeper and “unusual causes.” Our detailed analysis of the affected supply chains identifies these overlooked failure factors and hidden causes. Our underestimated causes include demand shifts among market segments, siloed demand planning, bottlenecks in shared resources such as transportation and distribution, and supply chain structures driven by the economics of an efficiency era that failed in a risk-fraught environment. We conclude on the profound lessons learned from the pandemic crisis on supply chains, and the implied challenges to address for building resilient supply chains for the future. The resilient supply chains of the future require rethinking the relevant “systems” we plan and optimize (e.g., firm, industry, region, global factor resources, etc.). The usual answer of building firm-specific redundancy of assets and operational flexibility might be prohibitive in the level of investment required for any one firm, or their financial stakeholders, to pursue and accept.

6 The spring ‘stay at home’ coronavirus campaign communicated by pending accounts
The UK government instruction to stay at home exemplifies how governments do things by saying things in a crisis. The force of the government slogan was amplified by its intertextual circulation in wider public discourse to produce an alignment between the duty of government to protect citizens, the spiritual mission of the Church and the public information role of the press. By analysing the rhetorical and sequential structure of promotional discourse with recourse to speech act, narrative and routine theory, we show how its authors concurrently use cognitive and empathetic interpellations to induce subjectivation, configuring pending accounts which not only involve recipients in scripts for restoring order (if … then … programming constructions) but also implicate them in restorative storylines (just as there and then … so here and now … mimetic constructions). The result is to overlay on the official inducement new voices of hope, conditioned by participation in a collaborative community, naturalising compliance.

7 Exploring health literacy and self-management after kidney transplantation: A prospective cohort study
Objective: Investigate the influence of health literacy and self-management on complications, kidney function and graft failure after kidney transplantation. Methods: We included patients who received a kidney transplant between May 2012 and May 2013 and monitored outcomes until December 2018. Health literacy was measured using the Newest Vital Sign and self-management using the Partner in Health scale (before discharge, and after 6 and 12 months). Subscales are aftercare & knowledge, coping, recognition and management of symptoms, healthy lifestyle. Complications were categorized as rejection, viral infections, and bacterial infections. Kidney function was measured using eGFR and graft survival using days until failure. Results: We included 154 patients. Higher health literacy at baseline and at 12 months was related to more viral infections (p = 0.02; p < 0.01). Lower ‘coping’ at baseline was related to more bacterial infections (p = 0.02). Higher ‘after-care and knowledge’ at 6 months (p < 0.01), and ‘recognition and management of symptoms’ at 6 months were associated with lower graft failure (p < 0.01). Conclusion: Health literacy did not influence kidney transplant related outcomes. Higher knowledge and management of symptoms were related to lower graft failure. Practice implications: Self-management support is a key focus for health care providers in the multi- disciplinary team. © 2021 Published by Elsevier B.V.

8 Improvement strategies of food supply chain through novel food processing technologies during COVID-19 pandemic
Coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) is a contagious disease caused by a novel corona virus (SARS-CoV-2). No medical intervention has yet succeeded, though vaccine success is expected soon. However, it may take months or years to reach the vaccine to the whole population of the world. Therefore, the technological preparedness is worth to discuss for the smooth running of food processing activities. We have explained the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the food supply chain (FSC) and then discussed the technological interventions to overcome these impacts. The novel and smart technologies during food processing to minimize human-to-human and human-to-food contact were compiled. The potential virus-decontamination technologies were also dis- cussed. Finally, we concluded that these technologies would make food processing activities smarter, which would ultimately help to run the FSC smoothly during COVID-19 pandemic.

9 Surveying the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the poultry supply chain: A mixed methods study
The coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) has affected all supply chains through severe disruption of logistics activities, production, and markets. This study aimed to survey the impact of the coronavirus on the poultry supply chain using an exploratory sequential mixed design. We first addressed those stages of the poultry supply chain disrupted in an ongoing pandemic, and then elaborated particular disturbances associated with each stage. This study was based on data collected from Iranian poultry industry owners and experts who had sufficient experience in agricultural supply chains as well. As the qualitative phase, the content analysis was conducted to identify the impacts of the coronavirus on the poultry supply chain. The results and conclusions that emerged from the qualitative phase were refined and weighted by the Fuzzy Delphi Method (FDM) and the Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) respectively, in the quantitative phase. The results suggested that the pandemic has further affected the input supply as a stage in the poultry supply chain. This is probably because of the fact that the poultry industry is heavily dependent on inputs’ flow. In addition, supply chain governance was seriously impaired due to the persistence of the pandemic. The coronavirus pandemic has significantly affected the stages that are most reliant on transportation. Finally, we found that a part of the disruptions that occur in the downstream of the supply chain is due to the epidemic’s direct adverse effects, and another part is due to indirect consequences received from the upstream. Our findings and implications can be useful in decision-making procedures during ongoing epidemics.
