1 Social entrepreneurship orientation and company success: The mediating role of social performance

We examine the impact of social entrepreneurship orientation (SEO), a behavioral measure of the social en- trepreneurship of the organization, on the social and financial performance of a sample of Austrian firms. Despite growing research interests in social entrepreneurship, the field remains fragmented and this has led to calls for a careful examination of the implications of social entrepreneurship for firms. We draw on stakeholder theory and hybrid organizing to hypothesize that social performance mediates the SEO-financial performance relationship. By analyzing a sample of 1,156 companies, we find that the SEO-financial performance relationship is partially positively mediated by social performance even though the direct effect is negative. Our results show that social performance compensates for the otherwise negative effect SEO has directly with financial performance. We contribute to an understanding of the mechanisms by which an SEO affects firm performance and provide richer insights into the various aspects of performance. We discuss the future implications of our study and suggest promising avenues for further research on the SEO construct.

2 We survived this! What managers could learn from SMEs who successfully navigated the Greek economic crisis

Small and medium size enterprises in both business to business and consumer markets are particularly vulnerable to economic downturns. Concentrating on the Greek economic crisis, one of the toughest and most prolonged on a global scale, the present research sheds light on both anthropocentric and business-centric factors that helped SMEs survive, therefore, providing a valuable survival manual. Per findings of two studies performed under the given economically intense conditions, it is evidenced that the right answer to survival rests upon: (a) the entrepreneurs personality traits and skills that affect the market and entrepreneurial orientations of SMEs,(b) the adoption of such orientations that keep impacting the firms performance, and finally (c) the implementation of strategy relevant to reaching higher quality standards for products and services, combined with tactics relevant to downsizing, marketing actions, extroversion, and financial management.

3 How signal intensity of behavioral orientations affects crowdfunding performance: The role of entrepreneurial orientation in crowdfunding business ventures

Backers assess a crowdfunding campaign description not merely for a project’s capacity to deliver a reward, but also for the manner in which that reward is delivered. Viewed through the lens of signalling theory, crowd- funding performance depends on the signals of behavioural orientations. While earlier research has explored the positive and negative effects of signals of behavioural orientation, signal intensity merits exploration. We ex- plored signal intensity among 48,628 reward-based crowdfunding campaigns and focused on entrepreneurial orientation to categorize signals of behavioural orientations. We show that signals of autonomy, innovativeness, competitive aggressiveness, and risk-taking have an inverted-U-shaped relationship with crowdfunding perfor- mance. Signals of proactiveness have a positive non-monotonic relationship with crowdfunding performance.

4 The impact of entrepreneurship orientation on project performance: A machine learning approach

Recent studies in project management have shown the important role of entrepreneurship orientation of the individuals in project performance. Although identifying the role of entrepreneurship orientation as a critical success factor in project performance has been considered as an important issue, it is also important to develop a measurement system for predicting performance based on the degree of an individual’s entrepreneurial orientation. In this study, we use predictive analytics by proposing a machine learning approach to predict individuals’ project performance based on measures of several aspects of entrepreneurial orientation and entrepreneurial attitude of the individuals. We investigated this relationship using a sample of 185 observations and a range of machine learning algorithms including lasso, ridge, support vector machines, neural networks, and random forest. Our results showed that the best method for predicting project performance is lasso. After identifying the best predictive model, we then used the Bayesian Information Criterion and the Akaike Information Criterion to identify the most significant factors. Our results identify all three aspects of entrepreneurial attitude (social self-efficacy, appearance self-efficacy, and comparativeness) and one aspect of entrepreneurial orientation (proactiveness) as the most important factors. This study contributes to the relationship between entrepreneurship skills and project performance and provides insights into the application of emerging tools in data science and machine learning in operations management and project management research.

6 The critical criteria for innovation entrepreneurship of restaurants_ Considering the interrelationship effect of human capital and competitive strategy a case study in Taiwan
معیارهای مهم کارآفرینی نوآوری در رستوران ها: مطالعه موردی در تایوان با توجه به تأثیر روابط متقابل سرمایه انسانی و استراتژی رقابتی-2020
This study clarifies different mechanisms among multiple mediation-moderation models related to 622 restau- rants in Taiwan, that won innovation awards and entrepreneurship loan subsidies from governments and that joined an innovative brand for less than three years from 2015 to 2017. Regarding mediation, we found that absorptive capacity and innovation mediate the relationships between market orientation and performance, and market orientation mediates the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and performance. Regarding moderation, we discovered that the critical moderating role of human capital strengthens the relationships between market orientation, absorptive capacity and innovation, and that competitive strategy strengthens the relationships between market orientation and innovation to performance. The first and second orders of the proposed models are also discussed for improving the relevance and accuracy of examinations of moderation and mediation in tourism and hospitality research.

7 Social entrepreneurship orientation : Drivers of success for start-ups and established industrial firms

Academic research into social entrepreneurship orientation (SEO) remains nascent, despite social entrepreneurship receiving increasing attention in both research and practice. This study of 308 industrial industry firms from Austria and Northern Macedonia contributes to closing these research gaps by investigating how SEO influences social entrepreneurial performance taking into account the performance consequences of heterogeneity in firms characteristics demonstrated by start-ups and established firms using multi-group structural equation modeling and fsQCA as methods of comparison. Combining person-centered and variable-centered methods, this study contributes by exploring how SEO influences social entrepreneurial performance and considering firms characteristics for both start-ups and established industrial firms. The study highlights key differences for start-ups and established firms. The development phase of a firm, thus, plays a key role when examining SEO dimensions. This study informs practices of individuals seeking to undertake a business start-up or owner/managers involved in the operation and management of established firms in a social entrepreneurship context. The findings will be of interest to the enterprise support community in tailoring funding and training support for social enterprises for both start-ups and established firms.

اغلب از گرایش کارآفرینی (EO) به عنوان یکی از پیش نیازهای رشد، مزیت رقابتی و عملکرد بهتر نام برده می شود و پژوهش های تجربی قبلی اغلب نشان داده اند که رابطه ای مثبت بین EO و عملکرد وجود دارد. اما سوال مهمی که بی پاسخ مانده است این است که در طول دوران بحران اقتصادی،EOممکن است چه تأثیری بر عملکرد بنگاه و تلاطم محیطی شدید همراه با این بحران ها داشته باشد. این پژوهش اولین مطالعه در مورد آثار EO بر عملکرد بنگاه های کوچک و متوسط در طول بحران اقتصادی کنونی جهان است. ما در این مطالعه از مدل چندبُعدی EO استفاده می کنیم و با استفاده از داده های پیمایشی جمع آوری شده از 164 SME هلندی، مجموعه ای از فرضیات مربوط به آثار آن را بر عملکرد بررسی می کنیم. پژوهش حاضر نشان می دهد که رفتار بنگاه پیشگام در طول بحران اقتصادی تأثیری مثبت بر عملکرد SME دارد. همچنین نشان می دهیم که SME های نوآور در محیط های متلاطم عملکرد بهتری دارند اما این SME های نوآور باید سطح ریسک را کاهش بدهند و برای جلوگیری از پروژه های پر مخاطره اقداماتی را انجام بدهند.
